Before buying a Bengal Cat 2008-06-01 22:13:10 First, be sure you do not live in an area where the Bengal
Cats are not allowed. There are several places where they have put in place laws banning any cats that have been bred from any wild cat background. Some areas allow only SBT Bengals, which means they are 4 generations or further from thier wild cat beginings. The ALC, Asian Leopard cat was crossed with domestic cats to create the Bengal.
Memorial Day 2008 2008-05-26 19:49:09 Well my hubby and the kitties all spent a nice day at home. Kali made sure we were awake by 4 am, she just doesn't get the concept of sleeping in. Simba is up on the back of my computer chair right now.
My Dad was born in 1925 and he is a WWII vet. He was a ball turret gunner in the B-17 bombers over Europe. He flew in the Battle of the Bulge and many other missions during the war over Germany. I Read more:Memorial

Our Story Begins 2008-05-25 09:29:52 In 2005 we fell in love with our 2 Bengals. They were only 10 days old the first time we saw them at our breeders home, at www.DesertstarBengals.com
We fell in love with the little girl, a beautiful brown spotted tabby Bengal and named her Kali. Our plans were to just get one kitty. We had recently lost our tabby of 17 years and our other tabby of 16 years and our sheltie dog of 16 years all
Bedtime for kitties 2008-06-04 23:06:14 Bedtime started with our 2 Bengals snuggling up with us in bed. Once we brought Simba, our Savannah home, it changed things quite a bit. Kali would not allow him to sleep with us, if fact she did not even want him within her sight. We have one of the other bedrooms set up for Simba and he had to sleep in there with the door closed for the first few months we had him. If we did not keep him in Read more:Bedtime
What's on the menu? 2008-06-07 19:32:45 Many people insist on feeding thier Bengals & Savannahs on the raw diet but I have had success with a very healthy cat food and my cats are doing wonderful. I just don't have the time to deal with raw meat for the cats and figure out how to do it safely and not make anyone sick.
I use the Blue spa select adult cat food (in the purple bag- chicken and brown rice) from Blue Buffalo, http://
Call Her Fast Cat 2008-06-14 08:29:58 Tonight Miss Kali is in a fighting mood. She chased Simba around the house a few times before, during and after dinner. She is so fast and its just amazing to see her run and smack at Simba with her front paws mid stride. Mazi decided to teach her a lesson and got low into his stalking mode. He crawled on his belly from one room to the next where she was relaxing and licking, and just when she
Visit to Rosamond Feline Breeding Compound 2008-06-19 21:25:19 Saturday, June 14, we went to the Twilight tour at The Exotic FelineBreeding
Compound's Feline Conservation Center in Rosamond, CA.
They have several fund raisers a year where you can come in and see all the animals in the evening. Most of the cats active in the evening compared to earlier in the day. Unfortunately it was in the high 90s that day, so several of the
Happy 4th of July 2008-07-04 11:24:03 Well its here, the 4th of July. We started out at 4 am with the sounds of a cat fight and cats running across the bed like a heard of mini elephants. ugh! So I got up and fed the little darlings and attempted to get to sleep in on my day off from work. Sleeping in at this point consists of dozing and waking in 15 minute intervals until one gives up.
The really crazy thing after we get up in the Read more:Happy
The scoop on litter 2008-07-01 06:51:42 I have had cats for 20 years + and have tried many cat litter brands and types. In the past I always used clay or the scoopable clay, but found they were both very dusty, and some brands would even get a bit gummy. I have also tried the pine litter, which works fairly well for the odor control, but it sometimes hard to get at the store. The new scoopable pine that I tried, seemed to track worse
Cats 'N Jackets 2008-07-22 23:38:40 I never thought I would be a crazy cat lady dressing up my cats, but here I am today doing just that. My hubby and I have a motorhome and bring the cats with us when we take the motorhome out. I needed a way to be able to control the cats, so when they were kittens I started working with each of them and a harness.
The problem I had with the harness was the cats are little houdini's and Read more:Jackets
Its a Hot Summer 2008-07-11 22:37:41 This week has been very hot. We hit 112 deg. F this week and thats pretty hot. The poor kitties in thier fur coats don't understand energy conservation. We have the temp set to 80 during the day, but in a fur coat thats still a little hot.
A big box arrived the other day with some fun packing pillows that the kitties had a blast with. The box was fun for them too. This was a great diversion from Read more:Summer
The Cats are redecorating 2008-08-03 11:01:05 Well after almost 3 years, the kitties have decided we need to change out some of the window coverings. They have been working on bending the valance rod for a while but now they have moved on to the upper window.
Here Mazi is showing you the preferred method of travel to the wonderful window.
Did I do that?
Oh! I didn't see a thing.
Let's see what I can do with this now.
