Sony also claims the camera will also be able to communicate (via peer-to-peer or ad-hoc connections) with other Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)-enabled devices, such as another camera or a PC. Gucci to Follow Prada Down Mobile Rabbit Hole? 2007-03-09 19:22:27 Gucci to Follow Prada
Down MobileRabbit
Hole?
Yeah, mobile phones have been status symbols and fashion accessories for some time now, but the concept of a designer's name taking top billing in the product name is a fairly recent development. If Gucci really does have a handset baking in the oven, we're guessing the Italian icon isn't doing the heavy lifting of the development all by its lonesome, though we haven't an inkling who might be involved. Heck, we can't even really make out what kind of form factor we have going on here, and all we've got is this one lonely pic up on flickr to go by. Of course, LG and Prada have set the bar pretty high in this arena, so if this is legit, Gucci had best come out with guns blazing. Read more:Gucci

SLR Bargain
!
Pentax's K110D debuted a few months ago as a bargain for budget-minded SLR consumers and people looking to upgrade for cheap. Now, the K110D is even more affordable than before! Many merchants have the K110D for around $400, some even dipping into the high $300s.
The K110D is very similar to the K100D, which has received rave reviews from our users. The only difference between the two cameras is the lack of on-board image stabilization, something you should be aware of before you buy.
Be Aware: Many retailers are offering this camera with a Manufacturer's Mail-in Rebate. Be sure to explore all the offers on the product page to make sure you get the rebate savings with your purchase as well.
We at Digital Camera HQ feel that this is a great deal, and that new and prospective digital SLR users should strongly consider getting the K100D this Christmas season.

Samsung's 8GB Flash Chip 2007-03-12 19:05:09 Samsung's 8GB Flash
ChipSamsung Electronics Co. has begun shipping samples of an 8GB flash memory chip, enough to store up to 2,000 songs on a mobile phone, the company said today.
It expects to begin mass-producing the moviNAND chip, which it called the highest-capacity embedded flash memory device developed so far, by the end of the year.
Samsung's moviNAND line combines flash memory and firmware in an embedded chip for mobile phones and other portable devices. The chips use the widely-used multimedia card (MMC) interface, allowing manufacturers to integrate them into devices faster and more cheaply, Samsung said.
The MMC also allows for fast data transfers. The new chip can process 52MB of data per second, double the performance of Samsung's 4GB chip, the company said.
Samsung started producing 1GB and 2GB moviNAND chips last September. It expects worldwide sales of the chips to reach $4 billion by 2010, it said.
NAND flash memory chips are small, fast and use low power. The Read more:Samsung

Another day, another haute couture handset - this time from Julien MacDonald in conjunction with Orange...
The fashion designer has stripped the Sony Ericsson
K510i of its monotone looks and replaced it with a vibrant floral print that would look great on a smock top and paired with skinny jeans.
"The print I decided to use for the Sony Ericsson K51Oi was taken from my spring summer 07 collection," explains Julien. "The print was inspired by exotic flowers, Orchids in particular, so thought it would be perfect for the spring launch of this handset." We couldn't agree more.

Canon is the Most Popular Digital Camera Maker in the United States 2007-03-12 18:23:33 Canon is the Most Popular DigitalCamera
Maker in the UnitedStates
On the strength of superlative cameras like the 10-megapixel Powershot A640 and the image stabilized A710, Canon managed to sell over 6.1 million cameras in 2006, capturing 20% of the digital camera market and catapulting them to the number one spot over competitors like Nikon and Kodak.
Kodak, whose EasyShare line and strong brand recognition helped them reach number one in 2005, fell to third place. Weak offerings, like their C875 and C643, which our users found disappointing, kept them well below Canon and Sony this year.
Analysts also point to the introduction of low-cost dSLR cameras by Canon and Nikon as crucial to their success. Nikon's D40 was a smash hit with people looking for an affordable, yet powerful dSLR, and Canon's Digital Rebel XTi (400D) satisfied longtime fans of the accessible Digital Rebel line.
