Distribution underway 2008-07-27 18:40:50 Sorry for the lack of updates recently. For the most part, I’ve been keeping busy with some music to put into the sheet music booklet that I’m soon to publish. A message was sent back on Thursday saying that my album has been prepared for distribution. It’ll take about a week to find out to [...]
Funny, Entertaining…and sadly true 2008-08-22 19:38:01 I typically don’t post videos or pictures as a main idea for a blog post. But coming across this series on YouTube (Arby ‘n’ the Chief), the producer - DigitalPh33r - displays pretty much the type of people you come across whilst gaming on the internet. There’s a specific episode in the series that pretty [...] Read more:Funny

Published Review & Dead Rock Stars 2008-08-18 10:51:54 Turns out that an older blog post of mine was taken as a review of some sort. Looking back, it does look convincing enough to be a review, but it was more of a personal stand point and not so much professional. At any rate, it was published (without my knowing) at Torben Thøger’s website: [...]
About time 2008-08-17 21:22:39 Good to see that the Beijing Olympics for Canada won’t be a complete disaster. After going without a medal for the longest time, it seems that Canada has managed to get 7 over the last couple of days. It’s pretty good to see, actually. I was wondering and discussing amongst others whether or not the [...]
iTunes update 2008-08-12 08:57:02 Having just checked the iTunes
store, my album is finally up and running there. As soon as I find a neat icon to link it to, it’ll be up in the Online Store. Until then, you can visit it by clicking here.
I also have to mention how completely impressed I am with Kunaki. They send [...]
Junk Mail of the Week - 15 September 2008 2008-09-15 21:04:29 Here’s the beginning of a bit of a fun series. I’ve posted comical junk mail in the past, and since we all get them often, perhaps I could share some of the best of the worst, or what have you. This beauty popped into my inbox last night, and after reading the first line, I [...] Read more:September
Blogging communities 2008-09-14 14:31:20 For those who have most likely noticed, I have been attempting to submit this website to a numerous amount of blogging tools and websites, like del.icio.us, Reddit, Digg to name a few. Hopefully a lot of these sites won’t recommend inserting a lot of their codes in order to generate traffic; I have enough things [...] Read more:Blogging
Sell, sell, sell! 2008-09-11 20:22:03 It’s been a fun past couple of days. Well, not really. If anybody’s ever submitted their resume to career websites, such as Monster, Workopolis, CareerBuilder, or others, chances are you’ve come across phone calls such as this. I was a bit hesitant at first mostly because the job listings were rather poor, not to mention [...]
Minor account adjustments 2008-09-06 18:04:36 Due to the increasingly annoying amount of spam posts I’ve had to moderate over the past couple of months, for the time being I’m setting it so that only registered users may post comments on blog entries. I prefer to keep it open for anybody to leave a comment without having to go through the [...] Read more:Minor
Anniversary…sort of 2008-09-03 08:02:02 It’s been a year since I installed the blogging tool, and it’s worked particularly well. I’ve been making some decent contacts, and have been generating good traffic to the site.
The Portfolio section has once again been updated. Essentially, any programmer or artist out there looking for work should check out Team Twilight Children. It is [...] Read more:Anniversary
YouTube Links 2008-08-29 09:49:51 This is something I’ve meant to do for a while: set music to some images and upload them to YouTube
. I’ve gotten the idea from other users on that website, so I thought why not?
Unfortunately, since this particular theme has difficulty displaying embedded video, instead I’m just going to provide the links to their respective [...]
Portfolio Updated 2008-08-27 10:53:17 I thought that page looked a little bit obsolete, so I updated it with new information. It’s been kind of difficult to find things to blog about in recent weeks, but perhaps I could start a series of posts about independent projects.
While surfing forums at GameDev.net and Indiegamer Development Boards, I was surprised at the [...] Read more:Portfolio
Junk Mail of the Week - 6 October 2008 2008-10-06 10:44:32 Apparently my soul mate has found me…and she’s pulling out letters from vital organs. What’s intriguing is that I need to look for “Truth’s Pearl” from her words. What does that even mean? Is she sending me on a quest?
Aloha, my dear friend
My letter comes from my heart. It’s time to say about my inner [...] Read more:October
Career Setback 2008-10-04 20:49:15 It’s been a rather busy week or so. I intended to update the website with some material, but couldn’t really find anything relevant to say. The Canadian election is heating up, in certain ways. The prime minister took a lot of heat from the other parties, notably the NDP and the Liberals. In turn, the [...] Read more:Career

Junk Mail of the Week - 29 September 2008 2008-09-29 19:11:50 I’ve never even heard of any of these drugs. Have you? Has anybody? I’m serious.
The fact that they’ve been in business since 1998, yet feel the need to spam people’s mailboxes, is especially comforting.

Popularity of the Green Party 2008-09-27 21:53:55 One thing that a lot of Canadians have noticed these past few weeks is the amount of attention that is actually being paid to the GreenParty
. I should be careful how I word that. While a lot of people are mostly caught up in the Conservatives’ smear campaign against the Liberals, it’s a shame [...] Read more:Popularity
Possible upcoming contest 2008-09-26 22:07:28 I’m trying to put together a contest idea that will hopefully encourage some more participation from the readers. It will involve the merch shop and of course one of my CDs. I have yet to work out the specifics, but for the most part, here’s what I’m thinking:
I give the dimensions of an image that [...] Read more:Possible
New Merch 2008-09-22 12:44:49 I know it’s long overdue, but I’ve finally added some new designs that are now available at the Merch Shop. Some new shirt designs, as well as some magnets, coffee mugs, and mouse pads. Be sure to check them out!
On top of that, I’ve jotted down some artists and pieces that are playing right now [...]
Junk Mail of the Week - 22 September 2008 2008-09-22 08:47:32 Why is it that the selling point of these scams is somebody who is on a low income job that was barely enough to pay bills? Then magically they applied a “secret” formula and got instant cash overnight? Supposedly this method in the letter below is legal, so that must mean it works, right?
Right…?

We need more like them 2008-09-20 21:34:07 I know they’re already immensely popular, and I know some people don’t understand or can’t understand why people like this group (my response to those people is ‘What don’t you understand?!’). But this album, Dark Passion Play, is amazing. Now, I can’t really compare this to other Nightwish albums, since I don’t own any other [...]

Record Retailers Strike Back 2008-10-21 21:25:02 HMV doesn’t appear to be too forgiving of artists who decide to strike exclusive distribution rights with certain retailers, whether they specialize in selling music or not. Supposedly, in Rolling Stones magazine, HMV is urgins artists not to give retailers like Walmart exclusive rights to sell their CD, particularly in Canada.
HMV says artists should stay [...] Read more:Record

Junk Mail of the Week - 20 October 2008 2008-10-21 21:15:03 This next dandy…well, if you can call it that, makes absolutely no sense. There’s poor language, and then there’s just gibberish.

Fire in Residence 2008-10-18 19:08:57 For those who have lived in a university residence, you probably may have encountered weekly fire-alarm tests and the rare times when those who had too much to drink would decide to pull the alarms just for kicks. These alarm pulls can even be at horrible times, such as 3am or 4am. Then the building [...] Read more:Residence
Junk Mail of the Week - 13 October 2008 2008-10-14 22:42:34 Yeah, it’s pretty late this week. Had a hard time finding something I liked (plus I kind of, sort of totally forgot about it). Anyway, here’s one that’s staying with the times about the rough economy.
Our entire financial system is on the verge of complete collapse.

What do you mean “that one?” 2008-10-11 08:01:12 Yes, I know as a Canadian I should comment more about Canada’s politics. But I can’t help but overhear something that John McCain did the other night during the debate, referring to Barack Obama as “that one.” Immediately, many declared that comment to be racist.
Give me a break.
While McCain’s comment was borderline rude and unprofessional, [...]
Not bad 2008-10-07 19:36:35 In regards for bands or artists I don’t particularly care about, I will always admit when they’ve released a good track. I know Nickelback isn’t well-liked in terms of how generic their music does sound, and I do actually agree with that statement. Listening to some of their albums, their songs were either decent, or [...]
Synth in Orchestra 2008-11-08 15:15:26 Here’s something that I’d like to try someday. John Adams had some this in the past with his piece Short Ride in a Fast Machine. It contained a fully orchestrated piece with some parts scored for synthesizers. While it would be easy enough to acquire a synthesizer keyboard to play out some of those parts, [...] Read more:Orchestra
While playing Chopin… 2008-11-03 19:23:40 One thing that all pianists have encountered, or at least should, are Chopin
’s piano preludes. Some are more popular than others, and some are easier to find than others, but nonetheless are works of music that really shouldn’t be ignored simply because of their length. A lot of young composers, myself included, tend to have [...]
