Season Finale Review - Shaun OMac Radio
2007-05-11 14:37:12
As usual, I had a blast on Shaun OMac Radio last night, chatting about the season finale, and the whole first season in general. Shaun had some great clips from the show, along with some absolutely wonderful callers for the show. Clark, we’ll have to have a chat about the Biggest Heather Fan one of these days! What did y’all think of the season finale, or of the season in general? When (not if, as Shaun reminded me) it gets renewed, will you come back to it? Even outside of writing for this blog, I would be coming back again and again, as long as it’s on the air, in the news, in fan fiction, anything and everything. Do you feel the same? If so, write to CBS, call up CBS, email them, blog about them renewing Jericho, send them peanuts, whatever it takes to keep this show on the air, ok? Also, head on over to BlogTalkRadio and let them know that they should have a regular Jericho chat, which I enjoy almost as much as watching the show itself. Jericho, shaunomacradio,

Watch the full episode online Opening Morse Code - TO THE FLAG From CBS.com: Johnston leads Jericho into battle with New Bern. Although Jericho has far fewer men and resources than New Bern, they have a few things that help them keep their heads above water. Hawkins and Jake reveal to Johnston that Hawkins has the ability to track New Bern’s position via satellite. And with the help of the tank that they took from the fake marines, Jericho forces New Bern to retreat. But the battle is also costly, putting Johnston Green’s life in jeopardy. At the same time, Hawkins realizes that his use of the tracking device is allowing someone to follow his trail. Originally aired: Wednesday May 9, 2007 on CBS Writers: Carol Barbee and Jonathan E. Watch With Kristen - E Online Ausiello Report - TV Guide Variety.com There aren’t any words, really. I think that CBS is making a horrible mistake in canceling the show, which is truly completely separate from me writing on this blog. I wouldn’t have taken this writing position had I not already had an interest in the show. While CBS hasn’t put out any official word yet, and wasn’t supposed to anyway until tomorrow, there are too many different news sources to take lightly. Sign the Save Jericho position. I received a question a while back that I have been meaning to post about, and that was about all of the different songs that you hear on the show. There are two places that I know of to be able to see listings of the songs used in the show. Jericho Wiki Entry - Music of Jericho Heard On TV.com’s Jericho listing While both survive off of user-submitted information, I really like heardontv.com’s interface, and the ability to get help identifying a song that you’ve heard, along with the links to where to purchase the song that you’ve heard. Do you know of any other places that are on the great and powerful interwebs to find out the music used in the shows? And, don’t forget to send in your peanuts. Rumors of Jericho's Second Season Renewal
2007-05-14 13:36:34
I received an email from the contact form on this site from someone named Bob, who sent me a link to this site, along with someone leaving comments in previous posts. If you scroll through the listing of times for season openers on CBS, there’s a little bit at the bottom to grab your attention. It is also rumored Jericho has been renewed for 13 episodes and will run midseason or on Fridays and that the sitcom 1321 Clover has been given staffing orders (does not mean it is picked up, means it is moving to the next level before an official go). As the good l’il blogger that I am, I’ve been googling my brains out trying to find anything to support this rumor on the Northern Kentucky University’s site, run by Jimmie Manning, who teaches Communication Studies there. Can anybody help me out here? I’d love to get some kind of corroboration from somewhere. Meanwhile, don’t forget to send in your peanuts. Jericho, rumors, Second Season , TV, television, CBS

Rumor - TNT May Pick Up Jericho
2007-05-18 01:54:41
TNT Knows Drama, but do they know how badly fans want Jericho to be picked up by them? Rumor s have been running rampant over at the Jericho Message Boards that TNT may be interested in picking up Jericho from the pits of CBS cancellation. There’s even a thread started in the TNT message boards devoted to Jericho fans invading their forum. There are some wonderful comments from people who are as impressed with the show as I am. As a fan of the now ex-CBS show, Jericho, I’ve been sitting and waiting with dread for the announcement that that show was cancelled, while a small part of me hoped that CBS would be smart and keep it around. Another fan posted on the boards that you (TNT) are monitoring the fan reaction, and are considering the feasibility of picking up the show for your network. I would like to take this time to urge you to do so. Jericho has a large and VERY dedicated fanbase behind it, who will follow it to whatever network or station picks it up. Many of us are

Only on the interwebs… Someone’s started up a blog called “Save Jericho ” on blogger, and I can’t but wish them well. Their first post states: “Jericho” started out strong last fall for CBS. However, like “Lost” on ABC and “Heroes” on NBC, many viewers abandoned the show after it went on a long midseason hiatus. “We lost a lot of steam,” said Kelly Kahl, CBS’ chief scheduling executive. “I know we had loyal viewers … but the show sort of lost its engine and wasn’t performing.” If CBS is not willing to bring back the show then at least let us know what would happen. Go on over there and say hello. I hope that they’ll make a difference, and I’ll be here to help them out. Save Jericho Jericho, canceled, cancellation, Second Season, TV, television, CBS

Jericho Has Been Cancelled by CBS
2007-05-16 15:11:10
It’s official. After a promising start and rocky second half of the season following a hiatus, serialized apocalyptic drama “Jericho ” won’t return for a second season. However, the show’s executive producer/showrunner Carol Barbee is expected to stay at CBS and CBS Paramount Network TV as executive producer/showrunner on new drama series “Swingtown,” sources said. Simply for the fact that Carol Barbee will be working on Swingtown means that I will be watching it, and I’m glad that someone who is so passionate about her shows will be doing some great things. But it doesn’t make it any better that CBS carried on with shows that I could never get involved in, no matter how hard I tried, but wouldn’t give Jericho a shot. Ashley Scott Comments on Cancellation
2007-05-24 07:09:20
I love the Popwatch Blog over on EW.com, and you know that they made themselves even higher on my list by writing an article entitled “‘Jericho’: One Week Later“. They’ve been pretty amazing on their coverage from the fallout of the cancellation of the show, and one thing really struck me as I was reading their timeline, and that was a comment given by Ashley Scott at the Pirates of the Caribbean Premiere recently. May 19: At the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End premiere in Hollywood, Ashley Scott, who played Emily Sullivan, told EW’s Carrie Bell how she felt about Jericho’s cancellation: “It infuriates me. It is not fair to people who watched because we didn’t wrap it up because we thought we were coming back. Now viewers will never get a chance to know the whole story of the bombs and what happened or what is going to happen to these townspeople. It is just rude and I think people are going to stop watching shows like

CBS Promises Closure to Jericho
2007-05-23 06:45:20
Obviously, we’ve been doing something right… To the fans of Jericho : We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the Network, the production company and the incredibly-talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show — both on-air and online. It is a show we loved too. Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story. Sincerely, Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment Now, my only question is are they actually going to follow-through, or are they going to let the furor die down and then completely ignore us?

Jericho on DVD - Possible Release Date
2007-05-22 07:11:49
In the midst of all the talk of cancellation and possible pick-up by TNT, here’s a little bit of news that makes me smile. One of our friends in the industry, who’s always proved to be very reliable with their info, is telling us to mark our calendars for September 11th for Jericho on DVD. The indication is that right now the studio, Paramount Home Entertainment, isn’t sure if they’re calling this “Season 1″ or “The Complete Series”, because the folks at CBS television haven’t quite determined if the series will continue or not after this season. Also, that decision may affect the release date. So pencil it in, because it might be subject to change. Of course, we all know the answer to at least CBS’s release of the series on DVD, but we can still hold out hope that rumors will prove true. EDITED to add: Yeah, it might help to put in the link to the site. Jericho, DVD, release, TV, television, CBS

Cast and Crew Respond on Message Board

I’ve actually been avoiding the Message Board over on the Official Site lately, more because I just don’t have the kind of time it would take to really take to read through all of the comments. But, I did notice that there’s a section of the board that has many comments left from the cast and crew of Jericho, talking about the cancellation and I think left in a way to placate the rabid fans over on the board. Some of the comments have been left by Jon Steinberg, Skeet Ulrich, Lennie James, Alicia Coppola, Shoshannah Stern, Brad Beyer, Candace Bailey and Michael Gaston, and I do hope to see even more of the cast and crew to comment on the board. See the listing of comments here. On an administrative note, I’ll be posting only once or twice a week here from now on, until there is no more news to be had on the show or I just start seeing a drastic reduction in visitors. I don’t want to give up on Jericho, but there’s only so many times I can tell y&rs

Rumors of Jericho Saved!
2007-06-05 18:24:19
Wow, y’all… I spend most of the day in meetings, and I come back to an overflowing mailbox telling me that rumors on TVGuide.com and EOnline.com are saying that CBS may have just gotten the message from all those nuts being shipped to their offices by having a proposed eight episodes show Mid-season next year. From Watch with Kristen: How’s this for the biggest stunner you’ve heard all day: Sources close to CBS tell me it is extremely likely the Armageddonish drama Jericho –which did not make the CBS ‘07-’08 schedule a few weeks ago, meaning it was effectilvely canceled—has been revived from the dead and will return for eight episodes for midseason. Boo-yah! From the Ausiello Report: My spies caution that this is in no way official, but it certainly sounds like it could be by day’s end. It’s now just a matter of signing the actors to new deals and, according to one insider, finding a new soundstage to house the show’s se

With all of the news on the Save Jericho campaigns that are out there, it’s good to see that some fans are taking an additional step in trying to gain attention to the show. Convention Ideas We’ve got some AWESOME ideas for our convention, but we need more! Get the thinking caps on folks, hopefully the list I have provided will get the gray matter in motion! * ‘FEMA’ camp - which will be our campgrounds for those that want to really experience the convention in a different way! * Black Jack Fairgrounds - a place to buy and sell things, most vendors will be placed there. * Bailey’s - Turning a local bar into Bailey’s for the duration of the convention and have a television set to all Jericho throughout the bar’s business hours. I love this idea, you guys will find me there, I’ll be in the corner waiting for Stanley, Mimi and Jake to show up to play cards until the wee hours of the morning! As I’m on staff for Dragoncon

Seven New Jericho Episodes to Air in "08
2007-06-06 18:38:34
And CBS Says…. SEVEN MORE EPISODES! From Nina Tassler on the Jericho Message Boards: June 6, 2007 To the Fans of Jericho: Wow! Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard. As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of "Jericho" for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more "Jericho," we will need more viewers. At the end of the letter, just to show that even at CBS they’ve got a sense of humor, Ms. Tassler asks the fans to “please stop sending nuts”. Watch with Kristen over at EOnline.com pretty much sums up my reaction to this news: I couldn’t be more thrilled, and I do believe this is thawing out my cold, cynical reporter’s heart. I never thought I’d see the day! Read the whole letter from CBS here. Read
