VS SPANISH INVASION IN GLASGOWwatch live at 20:45 cet on SAT.1 (astra 1H, 19.2E, 12.4800V Free-to-Air) RCD Espanyol and Sevilla FC aim to take advantage of second chances of entirely different descriptions when they meet in the UEFA Cup final at Hampden Park on Wednesday night.Sevilla are in the final for the second year running having impressively swept aside Middlesbrough FC 4-0 in Eindhoven to claim their first European silverware, and now stand on the brink of becoming just the second side to successfully defend the trophy after Real Madrid CF in 1985 and 1986. Espanyol have a contrasting motivation for wanting to prevail in Glasgow having reached their only UEFA final in 1988 only to lose on penalties to Bayer 04 Leverkusen despite winning the first part of what was a two-legged final, 3-0."It is a great chance to defend the trophy," said Sevilla coach Juande Ramos, who will replace the suspended Julien Escudé with Aitor Ocio in central defence, while Adriano Correia has re

VIDEO : Highlights The FA CUP Final
2007-05-19 20:58:00
Chelsea FC win The FA Cup 2007 at New WembleyBlues and Utd failed to live up to the hype in dramatic fashion, producing a game of little excitement or entertainment during the regulation 90 minutes. In the first period the best efforts were reserved for a long shot from Drogba, a Lampard shot from distance, another Lampard turn and shot. In the second-half, United came close when Cech denied Rooney and Giggs, whilst Drogba again threatened when his free-kick hit the post. Ronaldo had very little impact on the game. The 90 minutes ended in stalemate, forcing the game into extra time. Giggs then had the best chance of the game, but he failed to convert a Rooney cross from 4 yards. Eventually, after 116 minutes, Chelsea finally broke the deadlock when Drogba and Lampard played a sweet one-two, allowing the Ivorian to lift the ball over Van der Saar for the winner.RESUME FA CUP: MU 0-1 CHELSEAUploaded by ronalda2see Chelsea lifting The FA CUP

INZAGHI THE ATHENS HERO(Champions League Final , May 23, 2007) With time running out in the first-half, which was largely dominated by Liverpool, a Pirlo free-kick deflected off Pippo Inzaghi to give the Rossoneri the lead. In classic Inzaghi fashion the ball went in off his arm. Earlier in the half Kaka had executed a lovely “roulette”. Midway through the second-half Gerarrd had a good chance to draw Liverpool level, Dida saved comfortably. With eight minutes remaining, Inzaghi scored with a fine finish after a great ball from Kaka. Kuyt pulled one back late on for Liverpool, but it proved too little too late.

It was here in 1994 that Dejan Savićević inspired an AC Milan team including the evergreen Paolo Maldini to their fifth European crown. Thirteen years on, the Rossoneri are chasing their seventh, one they came so close to landing in Istanbul two years ago. Talk of the psychological impact of Liverpool's dramatic victory in 2005 has dominated the build-up to this rematch, yet Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti insists it will have no bearing, saying: "That game is h

UEFA dismisses ticket reports
2007-05-23 08:32:00
UEFA has described as "unfounded" reports that tickets have become available for today's UEFA Champions League final in Athens and dismissed claims that AC Milan have returned 4,000 tickets.'Completely untrue'In a statement issued on Wednesday, UEFA said: "It has been reported that 4,000 tickets for the UEFA Champions League final in Athens have been returned to the organisers by AC Milan. The reports are completely untrue.Extra allocation"On the contrary, both finalists requested an extra allocation of tickets over and above the pre-established quota of 17,000 per club. AC Milan submitted a request for 3,000 additional tickets for the final and Liverpool FC also indicated that they would have been able to distribute a greater number of tickets. Reports that tickets have suddenly become available are therefore unfounded." resort uefa.com

SAME STORY DIFFERENT PLACETwo years on from the drama of Istanbul, AC Milan and Liverpool FC will meet again in the UEFA Champions League final with revenge on Milanese minds. Carlo Ancelotti'sside may be considered slight favourites but with Liverpool aiming to prove lightning can strike twice there is no danger of the Rossoneri taking anything for granted given the unforgettable circumstances of their opponents' 2005 triumph in Turkey. As if anyone needed reminding, Milan surrendered a 3-0 half-time lead as Rafael Benítez's team fought back to claim a 3-3 draw before winning on penalties. • The Athens Olympic Stadium - otherwise known as the OACA Spyro Louis Stadium - is the setting for this showdown between two of the continent's most successful clubs and for a Milan team plotting revenge, the choice of venue may be considered a lucky one. It was here, after all, that the Rossoneri beat FC Barcelona 4-0 in the 1994 UEFA Champions League final. • Between them, Milan and Live
