With All Due....
2007-03-09 01:29:00
A little bit of irish and a whole lot of rock, the Young Dubliners will have you celebrating all the way to St. Patty's day with their new release, "With All Due Respect: The Irish Sessions." What a great collection of traditional irish tunes all set to exciting melodies that make you want to get up and get down with your bad self! I love it! And well...if you don't believe me, you can check out

I Don't Think I Get It...
2007-03-08 18:20:00
I've been in a video mood lately, so why not continue? This morning, I came across an article about singer, Esnee Denters, a recent superstar in the self-produced video world that has recently been scouted out by major label folks. I don't really think I get it, but maybe someone else will.

This is sooooo my "So Called Life"

This is a really cool video of Jared Leto playing after a "30 Seconds to Mars" concert the other day. Maybe it really is all about the music... Enjoy!

Clock Strikes 'Midnight' For New Linkin Park Album
2007-03-07 17:59:00
I don't care what you rock critics say, I'm looking forward to the new Link'in Park Album ... After 14 months in the studio, Linkin Park has set a May 15 release date for its new Warner Bros. album, "Minutes to Midnight." First single "What I've Done" hits radio on April 2; the band recently shot a video for the track in the California desert, directed by DJ Joseph Hahn. "This was a

Endless Highway and My Hometown!
2007-03-06 19:01:00
My little hometown hopped on the wagon just in time! Finally reviewing something cool! When did Wilkes-Barre become so hip? A fine tribute to The Band Stepping out of the shadows as Bob Dylan’s backup band in 1967 was gutsy enough, but choosing the simple name of The Band was almost boastful. Time has been kind to the musical portraits of The Band and an impressive collection of artists have

I'm Crazy...I Know...
2007-03-05 08:50:00
Props to Levine News! I could not agree with this story more. I am a normal citizen living in LA and I know from my short time here that this town can really drain you. There are times when I seriously feel myself losing it. So, I don't blame the Hollywood Elite for going crazy. Who cares if they shave their head? With the prices of haircuts here, I thought doing that too! COMMENTARY By Doug

Grudge is not dead...
2007-03-05 08:25:00
Sometimes I think I belonged in a different time. With music and fashion alike, I'm one of those people who can't help but wish that I was around during the time of the real influential icons. (Audrey Hepburn and Olivia Newton John anyone?) But hey, I guess that is what this latest trend in leggings allows me to do. Relive the 80's anyway. As far as music though, I hate that I missed so much

Songs of the Generation...
2007-03-02 02:20:00
We’re not saying “My Generation ” isn’t an absurdly awesome teen anthem. It is. But is it the best one ever? According to a poll conducted by a British PR firm, the legendary track is the most popular teen anthem of all time. Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” came in second while Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out” ranked third. All good songs, not the best elegies to teenage-ness ever, though.

Joan Armatrading, In These Times
2007-03-01 05:57:00
When first you hear the voice, rich, warm, remarkable, it's a voice that suits a secret sharer, a woman who tells the truth. For 33 years, Joan Armatrading has done just that-- in songs crafty, subtle and sublime. Armatrading's songs are in the truest sense soul music; even at their boldest, driven by her passionate guitar, they touch the listener like a whisper to the ear, like confessions

Music News: Rage Reunites!
2007-02-26 21:34:00
As suspected, the Rage Against the Machine reunion will be more than a Coachella one-off. The band will team up with their pals in the Wu-Tang Clan for three Rock the Bells shows in addition to the April 29 closing-night headliner spot at Coachella — which marks Rage's first show together in seven years. -via MTV Thoughts?

Let's be Like Everybody Else!
2007-02-26 05:45:00
I'm not really into weird rock bands. You know the ones. The ones with high voices, retro beats, and exotic stage shows. I've seen quite a few here in LA, and have yet to find one with whom I can truly identify with. In order for me to love a rock band, I have to be able to feel their lyrics. I can't have those throbbing retro beats distracting me from the soul purpose of the song! Everybody

Guns N' Roses....The Mini Series
2007-02-23 01:26:00
GNR Scraps New Album Release Date Again February 22, 2007 - Rock and Pop by Jonathan Cohen, N.Y. The seemingly never-ending saga of Guns N' Roses ' "Chinese Democracy" album rolls on, as the group has once again postponed the project's release. The band announced in December that "Chinese Democracy" was tentatively due March 6, but with that date fast approaching, the album is back off the

Closet Idol Junkie...
2007-02-22 07:56:00
I feel like I need to go into rehab or something..I mean...There has to be a support group for people like me... I guess there is. The support group is called Idols Anonymous and we meet every week in front of the television on Tuesday nights at 9:00pm. I don't know why I'm embarrassed. There are funny auditions, quality performances, great clothes, and enough criticism to bring a tear to the

Los Angeles based R&B vocalist Colbie Caillat is a singer songwriter with songs based on a humble approach sounding like sweet honey flowing over rocks. Although her music is acoustic based, the arrangements go much deeper, culling from classical folk, jazz & pop, with her distinguished

St. Patty's Day!
2007-02-19 21:23:00
St. Patty 's day is less than a month away and I will be ringing it in starting on Friday night with the Young Dubliners at the Key Club where they will be playing well into St. Patty's Day. Then I'm thinking of continuing the festivities at Molly Malones?? I'm kind of excited about it and this is really the first year where I'm actually going to plan something. Hear are some irish rock

Jake Coco
2007-02-19 20:55:00
I was first introduced to Jake Coco by a lovely A&R friend at an Indie 103 event here in LA, and I have to say that I was deeply impressed from the very beginning. He reminds me of a cross between Colin Hay and Phil Whickham with his great lyrics and soft rock tendancies. I recently heard through the grapevine that he loves Youtube, so here's alittle taste..

K8
2007-02-17 07:33:00
So here is a bit of true indie music. A few years back while still living in a small town, a friend of mine and I stumbled upon a singer/songwriter by the name of K8. But before I get into that, I want to be honest and say that even though I love the show experience, I don't always remember who I see. I don't know why, but I always have trouble remembering artists with obscure names who play

Endless Highway, Music of the Band
2007-02-08 19:30:00
Most people when asked about the Band would probably say that they are one of the most influencial bands of all time with their healthy blend of classic rock and homely southern melodies. They are a staple when discussing rock of the 60's and 70's. But really, why are they so underated even though The Last Waltz is probably one of the best rock movies EVER? Perhaps not... I just discovered

Young Dubliners
2007-01-17 07:18:00
I have had a love for Irish Punk/Rock ever since I went to my first Warped Tour and found myself in the middle of the moshpit for Dropkick Murphy's. What can I say? The hitting, the singing, the yelling, and the utter mayhem always held an addicted appeal for me. I think it's safe to say that there aren't many bands out there that take you on a rock trip to the hills of Ireland. But those that

Introduction..Please?
2007-01-15 23:48:00
So I can honestly say that I've tried this blog thing a few times. All of which have been unsuccessful through lack of effort and incessant boredom. I admire the people that can get their various internet endeavors off the ground, because it's harder than it looks. This time though, I'm confident that I'll finally find a way to get it together. So here's my story..I work in the music world here

Starbucks to Take Over World!

I looooove Starbucks . "Grande Mocha, with whip please" is like tasting heaven-as much as heaven can be early in the morning. However...after reading this, even I think Starbucks is taking things waaaaay to far. STARBUCKS TO START MUSIC LABEL, EYES MCCARTNEY: Having already proven that it can sell other companies' music, coffee giant Starbucks is planning to launch its own record label and is

Jeremiah James, "Make Believe"
2007-03-16 04:18:00
Single Review: Jeremiah James , "Make Believe" Yes...he's hot...we know... And the cool thing is, he can totally sing..like REALLY sing.. Rock with a punk tendancy, "Make Believe" reminds me of hanging out in the pit at Warped Tour and rock'in out to some genuine pop punk. Catchy chorus, memorable versuses, "Make Believe" is a keeper. Ladies and Gets, Straight from the UK...The Pipettes
2007-03-22 00:43:00
Depressing songs rock the airwaves everyday, and I have to say that I love them. But sometimes, you have to take a break from all that and just be happy! Que"The Pimpetts!" These three ladies have been rocking across the pond, and I have to say, I like their tunes. A cross between The Supremes and The Brady Bunch, they remind of the 1970's when girls sang in unison harmonies while all
