The singer with defunct punk rock band Mest was jailed on suspicion of murder in Los Angeles yesterday (March 25) after police said he confessed to stabbing his ex-girlfriend's new lover. Joan Armatrading, Into the Blues
2007-04-04 21:49:00
What a breathe of fresh air! Labeled as her first blues album, Joan Armatrading ’s, “Into the Blues ” is a modern blues endeavor that further showcases how great Joan is at what she does. Sure it’s different if one compares it to her previous albums, but “Into the Blues” is a noteworthy effort that introduces us to something newly familiar. What I loved most about “Into the Blues” was how it

Ska Anyone?
2007-04-11 05:52:00
Whenever I say that I like ska, someone says, "Yeah I used to listen to ska back in the day." What the hell? Why don't more people listen to ska now? Why is it a genre that people outgrow? Before, I thought that you had to have some sort of amazing quality to play in such clubs that housed some of the great bands from the 70's and 80's. But you know...you

*Hot Pick* "Smashing Pumpkins-Tarantula"
2007-06-06 01:42:00
Fans are always skeptical when bands reunite. They have every right and I'm often in that group that prefers leaving the past alone. But since hearing that the Smashing Pumpkins were slated to release a new album in July, I have to say that I was jumping around alittle. I mean.. what "post-grudge" kid wouldn't be glad to see Corgan and Chamberlain collaborating once again? Your answer should be

Irish Music on Acid
2007-06-22 13:24:00
Just a quick note and some advice before I run off to the weekend! Check out the Young Dubliners! Rocked out at their show last night at Molly Malone's and had an amazing time! Their music to me is like irish music on acid with a bit of Flogging Molly and Dropkick mixed in for fun. But honestly, the Young Dubs don't need to try to be anyone. With their musicianship and awesome stage presence,
