Caution: blah, blah, blah...,'" we made the move to the backyard to let the fun begin. TV, Schmee Vee. Sometimes a good running mess is the very best form of entertainment (not to mention exercise). And yes, I did make th

Our pal W celebrated his 6th birthday yesterday, at a party complete with cans of lemonade (big treat!), homemade ice cream, water balloons for the breaking, even an inflatable water-spraying slide. Despite all the amazing attractions, for Darren, the most entertaining aspect was one the host family did little to "plan."

Scream-free parenting: Not an adherant, and if entirely truthful, not even an advocate.Call me insensitive, call me reactionary, call health and human services, but I genuinely believe occasions occur wherein a little strategically applied vocal verve effectively sells it to the back of the house. For those genuinely fearful for my sweeties' psyches, perhaps a bit of clarification is merited. Debi at Who Says 8 Is Enough? is hosting a baby picture Sunday...with the theme of "Here Comes Trouble!" or as most twin parents will attest, the oft-bandied phrase "Double Trouble!"Our two may not be exactly babies in this image, but attached to "Blackie" and "Whitie" since their local farm-park birth, Sarah and Darren look all too close to climbing in with their fellow tandem-born, head-butting

Readers of Laura's Catholic Teacher Musings (and if you're not a reader, for Heaven's sakes, become one; she's practically perfect in every way) may have caught her post on our real-life rendezvous gone awry....not for lack of collective trying, but rather for congested, impregnable I-95 traffic. As illustrated in said post, a circus-tent striped basket intended for Sarah and Darren was sent Richmo

Long ago, in a blogalaxy seemingly eons away, Nancy of the Zimmer Zoo and Debi of Who Says 8 is Enough? tagged me. Embarrassingly, it took me light years to come up with a simple six unspectacular (I can only imagine how long it'd have taken to figure six genuinely spectacular) attributes to describe myself! At long last, here goes...The rules:1. Link the person who tagged you.2. Mention the rules

In the interest of twin-equality (whew, is that ever fodder for a pending post...), like Sarah, Darren also finds and makes art from the most unexpected of media.Behold "The Band-Aid Wall"...As a child of the flesh-tone-only bandages era, this type of post-gore gallery would never have popped into my six-year-old mind. Fluent in their numbers from 1 through 26, and having watched Daddy play the video version at their beloved Great Wolf Lodge, the machine was irresistable. Behold the concentration... And yes, Sarah took the deal the banker offered. 67 tickets. Darren's insight: "It's not y

What is it about blogging that compels one to honesty beyond the media's mandate? This morning, as I went to re-heat the morning's cup of coffee, after of course extracting yesterday's last cup (as is my daily ritual), it hit me: filth. Pure (as in the unsullied embodiment of --not in the "clean" Ivory soap sense) filth. Any customer who patronized a 7-11 -- or even a gas station -- with a microwav
