of snow - icy land. . Ice and ice, a large area was covered with snow on the slope of Routing. We found a pyramid type structure and half circle shaped structure near a KUND named BEAS KUND, all around the area was like a vast snow of ocean suitable for skating. Sudden clouds covered sometime whole snow area and some times sharp reflections of sunshine on snow seem as milky smoke covering the area. It becomes difficult to gazing the beauty of snow in bare eyes in sunny weather. Sunglass to some extend gives remedy. Bus stopped at “MODI” , I think it is like a base camp before mounting expedition to Rohtang Pass. - from roof of a bus (III) 2008-05-09 15:06:53 In continuation.......................................Now , again sitting on the roof of the bus started for destination Rohtang Pass. We were going higher and higher, all the surrounding mountains and hills were gradually changing in a different beauty of nature. , some mountains were found totally rocky , some had a little greenish small bushes and ending with very sharp edges. It was quite different - rude beauty of nature. And our bus now stopped at MODI , just at the bottom of ROHTANG. This place had some hotels and restaurants, shoes and coats are available on hire here for those who are interested to walk and to take full amusement in snow and icy Rohtang. Now, I was feeling slightly cold on roof, but a little later the cold wind from the snow covered mountains was entering into my body and touches bones. Fearing cold , as precaution I chained my jacket up to the neck. After a while, we reached to a small hilly village KOTI in the surrounding of mountains.
