Paris Montmartre
2008-05-09 15:31:07
Finally at Montmartre! On the metro's line 2 if you get the stop Anvers you can see a narrow street leading north where a "Funiculaire" which reach the big white "Sacre Coeur Church", from there the legendary Montmartre is very near. The place full of history where world artists have worked so hard to get their art recognized: Monet, Cezanne, Rodin, Pisarro, Sisley and so many others who have left behind them their mark on this area forever. Still it's possible to see artists at work who not only take your portrait or caricature butt sell also their work. Monmartre is on a hill and is the most loved area of all Paris , it'll be hard to forget its unique atmosphere. Breath deeply, it won't last.

Place Vendome
2008-05-09 14:51:55
Place Vendome is surely one of the most exclusives square of Paris (and probably of the entire world), it's place between Rue de Rivoli and Place de l'Opera is really strategic and its top class boutiques like Cartier, Rolex and jewelers make it a destination for everyone interested in buying (or simply seeing) the most attractive jewels of the earth. It's not a very big square but very well conceived and owns a sure fascination for many.

The Louvre Museum
2008-05-07 16:37:06
It is impossible to think about visiting th city of Paris without seeing the Louvre Museum , however th Louvre is the case where just a one day visit cannot be enough. A week should be a more reasonable figure, anyway since time is often limited it'll be necessary to inform onesef before going to the hugest and most relevant museum of the world. Not only for the big number of wordly recognized masterpieces but also for the thousand of less known artworks which are neverthless there to be enjoyed.Link to a Video of the Louvre.

Street Artists
2008-05-06 15:58:32
In Paris is very common to see street artists earing their living right in the street by living performance: very talented one or simple amateurs who ask to tourists and parisian just a few coins to be able to continue to study and improve their art. This form of working is one among the things which make this town so alive and loved by so many people: at Les Halles, Pont des Arts, Montmartre, take your time to witness these man and women who fight for their art.

Paris Underground
2008-05-04 16:28:18
The first thing to do is become aquainted with the parisian underground map, one-day ticket (or week) is better than the little book of ten metro's tickets which last less than a couple of days if not less,Louvre-Rivoli is the next stop after the huge Chatelet-Les-Halles toward the west, a well cared station.

Paris Tuleries
2008-05-04 16:27:56
The Tuleries' Garden (Jardin des Tuleris) it's probably the most important garden of Paris , since it belongs to the Museum of Louvre,It starts from the Carousel Arc (the little one in the picture) and ends at Concorde Square, a not very big park where to walk or rest.

Paris Concorde
2008-05-04 16:27:11
Place de la Concorde (former Revolution Square) is a strategic cross: you have at your disposal here lots of possibility: the Seine River, once crossed you are right in front the National Parliament, the Champs-Elysees which at the beginning start as a big garden, then turning in the famous international avenue with shops etc (ending at the Arc of Triomphe) or that other avenue leading to the Madeleine Church (without forgetting Rue de Rivoli which together with the Tuleries gardens bring you to the Louvre Museum).

Champs Elysee
2008-05-04 16:26:51
Champs -Elysées is that very big avenue from Concorde to Triomphe where after the first hundreds of meters of gardens (starting from Place de la Concorde) turn into a veritable world of shops, restaurants,, movie theatres etc.It can be easy to get lost with the crowd (especially on week-ends), so mind that your children do not get far from your sight (if you have any), it's the right place to get an idea ofthe international parisian side, to walk without forgetting that the real Paris is elsewhere and maybe a nice little restaurant somwhere will not cost you a fortune like the ones of this wonderful boulevard...

Arc de Triomphe
2008-05-04 16:26:30
Finally after this long walk we've reached the Arc de Triomphe with its impressive sight. A visit of its interior is possible, reachable through the underground: in fact crossing the square it's not only forbidden but nearly impossible, even the circumnavigation of the square by car it's hard for parisian drivers!

Bois de Boulogne
2008-05-04 16:25:47
Such a metropolitan area like the parisian one can get anyone tired or stressed, before losing too much energy it's not a bad idea a "promenade" in a good park: right straight ahead from Triumph Arc, you can reach the biggest park of Paris (in fact it can be considered a wood), just a couple of metro's stops (Porte Maillot ou Port Dauphine); however being so big you need a whole day to savour it completely, Bois de Boulogne is the most precious area for parisians people: for walking, breathing, running and remembering...

Parc Monceau
2008-05-04 16:25:20
Still at Arc de Triomphe we can direct toward the west by foot or underground: we have in mind to change environment completely and visit Montmartre in the late afternoon; before embarking in such a journey we will still wish to rest a bit but since going to Bois de Boulogne would take too much time, here's an alternative: Parc de Monceau, reachable in a couple of metro's stops (line 2, direction Nations, Monceau stop), it's a very nice parc frequented mainly by locals, the picture show the exclusive Monceau Hotel in the surroundings.

Sacre Coeur
2008-05-04 16:23:19
That huge white basilic at the north of Paris that you can see from so many places in town is Sacre Coeur with its white and islamic look, in the Montmartre area, a charming and nice looking church which is one of the places unthinkable to miss... It's a good thing that is situated close to "Place du Tertre" (Montmartre) so with a unique visit you can see all.

The Majestic Paris
2008-05-04 16:22:40
Finally from the top of the town (in fact Sacre Coeur it's on the top of a hill) we can enjoy a panoramic view of Paris , "The Majestic " showing itself in all its beauty and charme with its original architecture and monuments, we'll be able to recognize from here nearly everything: Notre Dame, Montparnasse Tour, Eiffel Tour, The Invalides etc.Take your time to explore all this beautiful cityscape to impress in your memories which will certainly last for all your life: welcome to Paris!

Les Halles, the heart of Paris
2008-04-25 06:15:48
Again Les Halles, the very heart of Paris , a very important node where trains and undregrounds gets from every corner of the town and the whole metropolitan area(Ile de France, the region of Paris).Right below those calm people lazily spending some time of their early afternoon (reading, talking or simply resting) is Forum Les Halles: underground shops, coffee shops, cinemas, a veritable hinner town (overcrowded during the saturdays afternoons where people come from the outskirts of Paris).

Ile de la Citè
2008-04-25 06:15:10
The parisian river is the Seine, it's also the biggest of all France, it divides Paris into two parts, called (or known as) Right and Left one:Rive Droit (right, the northern one)Rive Gauche (left, the southern one). Here you right on the left one (sur la Rive Gauche), looking at the bigger parisian islands: Ile de la Citè, the place of Notre Dame de Paris (you see it at the extreme right of the picture), the famous cathedral.

The Pompidou Center
2008-05-10 09:57:27
The Pompidou Center since 1977 is equaled to modern art, very daring architecture and multi leveld concept area make it a perfect place for showing and proposing every kind of new ideas. In the Pompidou Center there is also a huge public library, a theatre and many other interesting stuff, for example if you wish to read quickly your newspaper or magazine (from whatever country) just enter and turn to your left, you'll find a dedicated area where people from everywhere spend an hour or less to inform themselves about last happenings at home.

Pont des Arts
2008-05-14 11:57:58
Til now we have been strolling exclusively on the right side of the Seine River, known as Rive Droit, it's time to have a look on the Rive Gauche too (left side). To achieve the passage the Pont des Art is our favorite bridge. A small bridge where people love to spend their time sitting on a bench or on its floor, savouring the sunday early afternoon. From the Louvre Museum it's very near and you

View of Pont des Arts
2008-05-16 17:10:49
Another little post about this nice parisian place which is Pont des Art. Here a more calm and prospective view: from the Ile de la Citè, that little square accessible from Pont Neuf, you'll be able to see the Louvre Museum, the pont itself and the Art Academy. A view point unique in the world where at the right time relax its visitor, something not always possible in Paris, a most dynamic and c

Paris Rive Gauche
2008-05-18 09:35:33
We have been strolling and visiting enough the right side of the river, Paris Rive Droit, not to care to pass the Seine River and see the left one: the Rive Gauche. For many aspects a different Paris, with a different spirit, you'll find there not only many things to see but also a new mood without whom will be hard to completely understand the town and its people and charms. The picture shows th

Yves Saint Laurent
2008-06-02 12:40:33
A little tribute to one of the most important artists, Yves Saint Laurent , since the Haute Couture has always been considered a real art. The Saint Laurent maison has worked extremely hard for decades in the fashion realm dictating trends and making people dream. That's a pic from the rue Saint Honorè, one of the most fashionable of all Paris, on the Rive Droit, starting from Les Halles, paralle

Jardin du Luxemburg
2008-06-01 11:25:09
One of the most beautiful parisian gardens is, without any doubt, the Luxemburg's one on the Rive Gauche. Built close the Senat Chamber (in the picture) it constitue a veritable oasi for parisian people living or working on the left side of Seine, between the V and VI Arrondisments.Being considerably big, it offers many ways of relaxing and enjoying a while, breathing oxygen in a metropolitan mon

Paris Map
2008-07-13 04:23:53
The very useful Paris Map zoomed right enough from its boundaries (the orange, the peripheric), out of it you'll be no more at Paris in a strictly sense, the Administrative 75 but in one of its Banlieau where also interesting things are just waiting to be visited, like for example the wordly known Versailles (the old residence of the crown). The wall parisian region called Ile de France it's much

Paris Saint Louis
2008-07-13 03:52:53
The littlest island of Paris , the Ile St. Louis can ba accessed both drom the Rive Gauche and the Rive Droit, but also from the bigger island, Ile de la Citè, the one where the cathedral of Notre Dame is located (precisely from its back). The Ile Saint Louis is a very pretty place to see and one of the many things not to miss in Paris. The poet Baudelaire has born there and many artists and hist

Paris Notre Dame
2008-07-12 04:14:44
The parisian cathedral Notre Dame de Paris , is certainly one of the most nice churches in the world, for the town of Paris is the very heart, not only because it's located in the ideal center, in the island of Citè (Ile de la Citè), but it has always been the place where all the town met long time ago. Its view is quite impressive and is even possible to visit it in the top of its tower (by sta
