2008-05-07 21:58:00
Hello, all! I'm Caitlin from 1,416 and Counting and I'm your friendly, new compiler of LAMB Chops.I have to tell you guys, I was utterly floored this week at the quality of the work you guys are doing as well as the amount of submissions I received. I wanted to put everybody up here as much as humanly possible. So this week, I picked the top 10 submissions I received and let me just say - it was a tough decision. LAMBs, you guys are turning out so much good work, it's crazy! From now on, I'll probably be picking out the top 5 I get every week. Many thanks to everyone who submitted this week. Without further ado, here's the Chops for the week of April 27 to May 3rd.Site: Lazy Eye TheatrePost Title/Link: Credit Mayhem Part 1Submitted By: Lazy Eye TheatreSite: The Fantastic A

My entry was so good even his wife voted for me. But I'm not bitter. Noooooooo.Anyway, here are the rules really fast.1) Choose from the 10 words or phrases below to create a truly original movie plot.2) Remember, you do not have to use all 10 words or phrases.3) When you have your truly original plot, e-mail them to me by next Monday, May 12th.From there, the plots will be posted and people will vote on them so make them good. Here are the words/phrases.Pair of scissorsShrimpTornado53 c

A few really quick notes on The LAMMYS
2008-05-05 16:29:00
* First of all, with a little less than 10 hours left to vote, a big thanks to the 33 people that have voted thus far. I know it's a time consuming task, and I appreciate your effort. The voter turnout will just about match my expectations, which were admittedly high. Keep in mind that of the first 78 LAMBs, at least 3 sites are currently defunct, and a handful of others are live but totally inactive. So it's close to 50% turnout - awesome!* After discussing options for the awards with the LAMB Consultant (namely, Mrs. Fletch), the unveiling will go like this: there are 14 awards - there will be two awards presented per day until next Monday, May 12th, when Best Blog will be the final award presented.* At or after that time, I will email or post (possibly seperately) the award banners for

Sirens of the LAMBs: Round 3 Results.
2008-05-01 11:45:00
Because I didn't feel like waiting until tonight to post this up (and to give more time to the winners to write their articles), I will now post the results for round 3. Nothing really went unexpected this round. The final round will be down to the popular vote and the underdog. So here are the results:Asami Yamazaki Vs. Cherry Darling.Fletch's Cherry Darling (Planet Terror) has made it through yet again, finally knocking the twisted Asami (Audition) out of the game 4 to 2.Kyra Vs. The Bride. It was a match of luck versus popularity. Kyra has scraped through the competition based on luck of the draw, and The Bride has been, by far, the most popular contestant. And in what I believe to be an easy win based on popularity alone (and in the most-voted-for match of the round), The Bride beat out

LAMB #86 - Cinexcellence
2008-04-30 23:59:00
URL: Name: CinexcellenceWhat is the main focus of your site (reviews, editorials, news, lists, etc.)?The main content of my site is film reviews and news, but I'll occasionally post about my personal life from time to time. Whatever I feel like posting is what goes up. :-)What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog? It's mainly a productive outlet for my love of films. Being a professional film critic has a certain allure, but that probably won't happen.Do you prefer an interactive 'community' for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students? Both, really. I am, of course, the one that posts the content of the site, but I welcome comments and feedback. How long have you been movie

LAMB Report #4
2008-04-30 10:42:00
The LAMB celebrated its 85th member just the other day (who was celebrating her one year anniversary coincidentally), so it seems a fine time to check up on some other news:LAMB MembershipBy the time April is over, I will have posted the 86th LAMB, giving us 24 for the month, setting a new record. I'm tempted to put the goals for the coming months even higher, but will hold back for now. Still, we should hit 100 sometime in May, and at the projected rate look to hit 200 at the start of September. (Click to enlarge chart.) The LAMB LeaderboardBelieve it or not, as competitive as I am, I actually would rather not see Blog Cabins as the top spot in the leaderboard. I wouldn't mind being in the top five, but I'd love to see it get knocked out by the latest site (such as Row Three)

It's Carnac time!
2008-04-29 12:57:00
It's time for the Summer Box Office Challenge, excellently named by Nick as the "Summer of LAMB" (you can thank me and Spike Lee for the brilliant artwork, though). As is just so happens, the "S.O.S." from the original becomes "S.O.L.," which - aside from standing for "sh*t outta luck" - happens to translate from English to Spanish as "sun," but if you ever had a choice of cheap Mexican beers in front of you, you would have already known that. Either way, it's pretty fitting, if you ask me.Due to a number of reasons like poor planning, an abundance of events, an early "summer" movie season and potential blogging burnout, I'm waaay late in putting this up, and as such, it will be more of a blitz of an event where I give you little time to do anything rather than a well-planned, thought out

A LAMMYS Clarification
2008-04-29 02:03:00
I've seen in a few peoples' LAMMY votes comments something about having to rush before the deadline and/or not being able to fully visit/judge the sites due to the deadline.I'm not sure where the idea is coming from, but the deadline is not until next Monday, May 5th. So please, take your time - you've got a week!

In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?My blog is a means by which I can think through films out loud. Also, I try to give filmmakers a chance to get their films in front of a larger audience.Do you prefer an interactive 'community' for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?A little of both, I think. How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?I've been film blogging for a couple of ye
