Malay leaders in the country have been urged to sit down together and discuss the future of the Malays in the country.Making the call today, Bandar Tun Razak Umno division acting head Rahim Baba said Malay leaders from the ruling and opposition coalitions should sit together and listen to "the pleas and cries of the young Malays."

Parking bay hours will be extended starting May

Kuala Lumpur Mayor Abdul Hakim revealed that from next month, the hours of operation for parking bays under DBKL's jurisdiction will be extended to 10.30pm in all areas.He explained that this is meant to curb illegal jockey-parking services, whose operators make use of these bays, particularly in the popular night-spots of Bangsar and Sri Hartamas."We don't want our services to be used by other people," said Abdul Hakim.

The Gerakan party polls which was initially postponed until next year would be carried out this year instead, announced party secretary-general Chia Kwang Chye today.Notices would be sent out beginning today and branch level elections would have to be conducted by June 16, followed by the division (July 28) and state elections (Sept 19), he said.On Jan 12, the party�s central working committee (CWC) had postponed the elections from 2008 to 2009 to avoid a possible clash with the general elections. The CWC reversed the decision on April 27.
