God Loves To Use Ordinary People 2008-04-25 17:25:45 Dwight Moody was a simple ordinary man. As a young man he sold shoes to make a living. He was not your idea of someone that God could use to reach many many people for Christ. And he was not formally trained or educated to be the evangelist that God called him to be. But Mr. Moody was a man totally committed and surrendered to God, and as a result God was able to use him in great ways. God's hand was on him in a special way. There are many other examples of plain ordinary people that God has used in great ways ... Billy Graham is the son of a farmer ... Jesus' disciples were fishermen, a tax collector,... King David was the "runt" of his family ... God loves to use ordinary people to do extraordinary things, because everyone knows that it was God that did the great work. And God receives
Amazing Story Of God Using An Ordinary Man 2008-04-25 17:25:02 You need to watch and listen to the video below of how God used a "nobody" in amazing ways. This man had incredible faithfulness for many years in reaching out in love to the lost in Sydney Australia. What makes it incredible is that he saw no visible signs of fruit or success, and yet he continued to obey Jesus - to be a "fisher of men". This video is a must see. Read more:Amazing
Many Accept Christ In A School In Santo Andre 2008-04-25 17:23:45 We had a great time sharing Christ
at EE Carolina De Mello school in SantoAndre
, and we praise God that 454 students and 9 teachers accepted Christ. We worked with Igreja Batista Vila Gerti on Tue. 4/22 and Wed. 4/23 at the school, speaking to students in 5th to 8th grades and in high school. We always work in the schools with a church that is in the area of the school, so that they can try to continue to work with the new believers to disciple them and help them to grow. Our friends Gabi and Luiz were our interpretors on Tuesday, and our friends Pamella and Flavia interpreted for us on Wednesday. Check out the pics from our visits: Read more:Accept

Brazil Has Great Beaches 2008-04-25 17:22:31 We live in Sao Paulo and we are only 1 to 1-1/2 hour from the ocean, depending on where you go. When we get the chance we like to go to the beach to relax for the day, especially after a long & busy week. There are many beaches to choose from that are close in Praia Grande, Santos, Guaruja, Bertioga, Riviera,... We especially like Enseada Beach in Guaruja and Riviera Beach. Because it is tropical weather here, you can go to the beach a good part of the year. Most people say that the best beaches in Brazil
are in the northeast part of the country, and we hope to travel there sometime in the future. Here are some beach pictures to enjoy. Read more:Great

God's Vision For Our Ministry 2008-04-28 21:19:07 God called us to the Sao Paulo area of Brazil to work with and help and train churches to share the Good News of Christ with others. There are approx. 18 million people in the city of Sao Paulo, and another 2.5 million living in the ABC area, which consists of the cities of Santo Andre, Sao Bernardo, Sao Caetano (where we live), Diadema, and Maua. God gave us a vision and a plan, where He will show His glory, that includes the following four things:1. Preach in Churches: we preach to the members of the church, to en- courage and challenge them to be the "fisher of men" that Jesus wants all of us to be. We also preach the Gospel at the end of each message to the lost that are visiting or that are members of the church. Interestingly, about 1/2 of the people that have accepted Christ in the Read more:Ministry
Ipiranga Museum In Sao Paulo 2008-05-01 13:20:08 Today is the Labor Day holiday in Brazil, so I have time today to post something new about Sao Paulo
. Sao Paulo
is not considered a tourist city, it is mostly an industrial city, and it is also considered the financial capital of Brazil and of South America. Even though it is not a tourist city and there are problems with crime & pollution & traffic, it does have some nice places to visit. One of these places is the Ipiranga Museum
, which was built to commemorate the independance of Brazil in 1822. The museum is housed in a beautiful building and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The museum includes many cultural objects and artifacts from the 6th to the 20th century that depict the history, culture, and life in Brazil. It also has alot of information on the history of the city o
Is The Church Truly Following Jesus ? 2008-05-04 19:58:01 Is the church today what God wants it to be ? How does the church today compare to the church in the Bible, particularly the early church in the book of Acts ? The early church in Acts is considered the model of what the church is to be like. In Matthew 4:19 Jesus
says "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." In order to truly follow Jesus we must be "fishers of men" - people who activiely share Christ with others in their daily lives. In many churches today there is alot of talk about sharing the Good News of Christ with others and of making disciples. It seems that many churches talk more about the Great Commission than actually do it. How many people in the church are being true to Jesus and being fishers of men ?There are some very interesting verses in Acts chapter 8 about the Read more:Church

Brazil Is Very Open To The Gospel 2008-05-09 14:17:08 It is amazing to see how open Brazil
ians are to the Gospel
. God has truly prepared a great harvest here in Brazil, and we are privileged to be a part of this great work of God. We are always excited about seeing God touch and save so many people, and we are happy about how open Brazilians are to the Gospel, but at the same time we are somewhat sad. When you see such wonderful people that are very open to the Gospel, you cannot help but think about how different it is in the US. The difference is incredible. How can a nation founded by Christians and long considered a Christian nation be so closed to hearing about Jesus ? Why do so many people have hard hearts towards the things of God ? Why are many other nations and people groups in the world far more open to the Gospel ? You hear about Go
God Always Does What He Says or Promises 2008-05-13 16:03:57 Do you know God well enough that you know for certain that He will always do what He has told you or promised you ? God needs to teach us about His perfect character and about His perfect faithfulness. One of the best lessons that He teaches us is to know that He will do whatever He has said or promised. This is His nature, to keep His promises. He cannot do otherwise. He does not lie, and He is a Read more:Promises

God's Desire & Passion 2008-05-22 10:58:21 God has a strong desire and passion in His heart to save all people and to have a reconciled relationship with everyone. I Timothy 2:4 tells us that God wants all men to be saved, and 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that God does not want anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance. How strong is God's desire & passion ? So strong that He sent His only Son Jesus to suffer terribly and to die a hor Read more:Desire

What Is A Missionary ? 2008-05-25 08:14:05 The following is from Oswald Chambers' "My Utmost From His Highest" daily devotion: What Is A Missionary ? "Again Jesus said to them ... As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." - John 20:21 A missionary is someone sent by Jesus Christ just as He was sent by God. The great controlling factor is not the needs of people, but the command of Jesus. The source of our inspiration in our servic
A Great Finish For May 2008-05-29 16:45:03 May was a great month, and God has done some wonderful things here in the Sao Paulo area. Spiritual Warfare 2008-06-05 12:16:03 "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. "Lost In Church" - Could This Be True ? 2008-07-03 15:52:00 The following is a portion of an article on the Facing Forever webpage (click the link to read the entire article): How would your approach to evangelism be different if you knew that up to one-half of the people attending your church were not Christians? As startling as this idea may appear, recent research indicates it is a hard reality for many churches in the United States. Re Read more:Church
