Story 2008-04-27 00:08:07 Donald Miller is great. I went to Sam’s the other day and saw that they had the book Blue Like Jazz.
This is a hard back version with a free DVD. It has him talking for like half hour
or more about story. He is funny and his style makes it seem like he is talking
just to you. I would recommend going down
to Sam’s and buying a copy.

It designated the new society of which Jesus was the founder, being as it was a society knit together by the closest spiritual bonds and altogether independent of space” (as found in Strong’s Concordance).

Looking for Satisfaction 2008-04-25 02:14:03 You know, I should be in bed right now. In fact I think I hear my wife so I better make this quick. People are always looking for something to fill that void. I live in an apartment complex and an hour ago my loud neighbors just came home. I believe [...] Read more:Satisfaction

Sharpen Your Focus 2008-04-21 14:28:00 Here is the last part of a post I did back in January on our ministry blog.

Just Give Up Already! part 2 2008-04-20 16:25:00 I may not post for Monday since I posted twice today.
So let me backup a little. I decided to go back to school. I moved to Joplin, transferred my job and enrolled at OCC. I had been fasting from women for 2 years now. I knew this one girl that I [...]
Just Give Up Already: part 1 2008-04-20 10:37:00 I want to share with you a little about myself. My journey that I am on is getting interesting. Why is that? It is because my view of grace is changing and evolving everyday. I was a good legalistic Christian when I was 20 and just starting Bible college. Now [...]
Jesus Is Only 1/2 Price! 2008-04-19 20:45:00 Jesus at half price! Well, Jesus products anyway. Our Christian bookstore in town is going out of business. I happen to work there and have spent money I don’t have in order to save money. Everything has been 50% off the last few days. Why are we going out of [...] Read more:Jesus
The Gospel of Krispy Kreme 2008-04-18 11:31:00 Jesus is a lot like a KrispyKreme
doughnut. Sweet, warm, and just makes you feel good. Yea, Jesus is a lot like a doughnut… if you are a kook. Sorry about that, I just ran over to the gas station and picked up a dozen Krispy Kreme
’s. I think all [...] Read more:Gospel
A wife’s ambition 2008-04-28 00:23:33 My wife wants me to come up with my story. The other day we watched a presentation that Don Miller put on and he talks about how our life is a story. Does anybody want to watch my story, that is the question. Does anybody want to watch a story about a [...]
Our focus: Being like Jesus, or Remaining confused about God? 2008-04-29 13:25:34
Why do we make God so complicated. There are people who are so confused
about Him. I suppose there are many different reasons for this confusion. The first would have to be that people are not going to the source of Who God is. We find accounts of Him in the Bible. If you want [...] Read more:Jesus
Hardest Part of Being a Christian 2008-05-01 00:05:42 I am retired from work. The company that I was working for went out of business. It really is a sad ordeal. The owner, from what I understand, loved the work. Recently there was financial trouble, but what’s new. It seems a lot of people in our economy are suffering [...] Read more:Christian
Frank’s Home Town 2008-05-02 00:00:28 This photo was taken a little over two years ago. Some of you might recognize the building behind me. It is the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, Italy. I never thought I would get to visit this beautiful town. While in Germany my wife and I took a Church [...] Read more:Frank

Out with the new and in with the old (Great Commission that is) 2008-05-03 22:58:10 Here is a comment I made in response to Halpin’s latest post.
I did some thinking on the GreatCommission
today. There are four commands Jesus gives His disciples.
1. Go
2. Make disciples
3. Baptize them
4. Teach them
There is no sinners prayer found in this context. I still believe that one can be a follower of Jesus with the Prayer [...]
a bruised reed… 2008-05-05 18:42:21 “A bruised reed He will not break
And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish” (Isaiah 42: 3).
Isn’t it great that Jesus takes our heart into account. For those who hurt, He didn’t come to make them hurt more. For those who are blind, He didn’t also make them deaf. He healed them. He is [...]

Do you concur with Luther? 2008-05-07 22:37:51 In Matthew it appears that those who are “poor in spirit” and those who are “persecuted for the sake of righteousness” receive the kingdom of heaven. We see the qualifications and we know one has to be these two things in order to receive the kingdom of heaven. But what is the prerequisite?
