Alright, I need a new laptop. My dell inspiron 8500 died over 2 years ago and I bought an XPS 400 desktop which is awesome as far as desktops go, it's got 320GB HDD, 4GB ram, 512MB nvidia card, pretty much all the options. A really nice PC. But I miss my laptop. Wifey won't let me spend any money on a laptop, so I decided to get creative...In my job I spend about $40,000 a year on fixturing parts, electronics, new meters, software, PLC's, DAQ's and pretty much anything to do with test. I figured that as hard as I work for my company, they should work for me too. On Friday I was in production giving a demo of a new automated tester to our VP and found him to be in a great mood since he was really impressed by my invention, so afterwards I mentioned that I was done with the accounting c

I have an ebay auction for some 8051 based microcontroller boards ( like trainers). I bought them years ago in college for use in a class and liked them so I bought more for home projects. They are actually really cool, using the maxim DS89C420 processor, they have a ton of ready to go features. The best feature is that they are serially programmable and don't need a chip programmer.I don't have much of a use for them anymore at home, wife says I already have too much crap. HEY, they aren't crap I say. I guess my opinion doesn't matter. You know how that goes.Anyway, if you care to see,

I hate blatant advertising, which considering the ads everywhere sounds kind of hypicritical, but I do have to mention this ad.I have a fossil watch I bought at dillards about 5 years ago, a fossil blue. Best watch I have ever owned EVER. I am notoriously hard on watches and they usually last about a year at best. I bought this back when we lived in Dallas on a whim, they were on sale for like 49 dollars or something. It is durable and lasted though day in day out abuse at work, at home, in the garage and doing yardwork... you name it. The battery has been replaced once last year, but thats it. The glass on the front is even nearly unscratched which is surprising for as many times as I bang my wrist into a table, wall, etc around the plant. Here is my watch...Anyway, if you ever need a watc

Hmmm...
