Looky Here...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I'm back at work people. Unfortunately. It's 8.45am and no one is around. all I have for company is my scalding hot cup of tea (burned my tongue yo!) and the silent humming of the air conditioner. So lonely I am. Not! You know what I hate getting early in the morning? Emails telling me that they're out of this or that or the other thing and expecting me to magically make them appear. Or

With Friends Like These...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Have you ever had a friend was so irritating at times that it makesyou want to punch her?And this said friend also thinks that she's the funniest person onEarth, poking fun at everyone but when you do the same to her, shegoes ballistic and get rather violent?Or would pester us into telling her what we're talking about and gethuffy and offended when she finds out we're talking about sex?Or would

The 7th And Final Book
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Initially, I started reading Harry Potter because I had wanted to watch the The Philosopher's Stone. By end of the first book, I was hooked and I went out to by The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire. However, by the end of the fourth book, I had to wait two years for The Order of The Phoenix which turned out to be a disappointment for me. I tried to re-read The

Take Me Out To The Movies
1970-01-01 00:59:59
You know, after I made this post, I went to watch two movies this week; Kuntilanak and Pan's Labyrinth. The Indonesian movie was disturbing. I couldn't look at mirrors that first night after I watched the movie. I may or may not get it once it's out on video. Too creepy beyond words. Pan's Labyrinth was so dark and sad. Even the scenery was dark and ominous, and Pan himself was creepy. He looks

Food Cravings
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I had a sudden craving for Thai food earlier today, specifically green curry, and I found this wonderful, wonderful site that has simple to follow recipes. Temple of Thai boasts authentic Thai recipes. The best part is that the recipes are from scratch and uses very little pre-made stuff. Even though it's tedious and a hassle to prepare food from scratch but it makes a world of difference in the

I Lurve You Nicky!
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Dude! This came in the mail today and I wasn't expecting it until next week. Woot! All that I'm waiting for is CSI: Miami, Season 4 to arrive. My CSI collection is currently up to date but I'm missing the first season of CSI: Miami. I can't wait to ogle watch Nick Stokes in action, despite the mustache and the ring thing going on. He's my most favourite CSI, followed by Horatio and Greg. Such

Movie Marathon Anyone?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Back in the day before the Significant Other went to college, we used to go to the movies almost every week. Since he came back, it's been while since we watched one; the last being Night At The Museum. That was the last week of December. To make up for it (and then some), here's a list of movies I'm waiting to watch: * The Illusionist * Kuntilanak * Ghost Rider * Apocalypto * Perfume I could

Sesame Street Revisited
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I did a Sesame Street post last year. Over the weekend, I've been going through YouTube.com and found a few gems that brought me back to my childhood. These were from the Golden Age of Sesame Street . For your enjoyment, here they are: The Alligator King: The Pinball Cartoon: The Ladybug's Picnic: How You Make Crayons:

Beautifully Crazy
1970-01-01 00:59:59
It's been a little more than five years since I last saw Crazy /Beautiful. I've been looking for the DVD for a very long time and I finally found it and managed to watch it early this morning. It may not have been the greatest movie of all time but I love it. Kirsten Dunst's character, Nicole, reminds me of me when I was in my teens; suicidal and self-destructive but fortunately, I grew out of

Non-erotic Erotica? WTF?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I've never been one to buy men's magazines since yo know, I'm don't have that particular part of the anatomy to make me one of them. However, the local February edition of Maxim boasted to be the SEX edition, containing a separate, thinner magazine of erotica stories. It's very hard to find good erotica even online since you have to wade through deep pools, of stinking shit before you get to a

Current Favourite Song
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I've always thought that the Significant Other's taste in music was great, even though there are a few things that he listens to that can't bring myself to listen to, much to his disappointment. Recently, he had introduced the wonderful sounds of Journey and after one of the American Idol hopefuls sang Open Arms for his audition, I can't get enough of it. It's been on repeat on my iTunes for a

Hue Mai?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I finally managed to satiate my craving for Thai Green curry last night by cooking it myself using the recipe that I found on the Temple of Thai. It was awesome! It was thick, spicy and most importantly of all, green. In some places, I've seen that the green curry was not green but instead, it was yellow. Strange don't you think? Anyway, the curry was a success and approved by all who have

Tea for Two?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I would usually say that I'm a coffee snob but that's only a half truth. I like gourmet coffee when the mood strikes but I'm actually a tea drinker more than anything. I'm big fan of BOH and BonTea. I usually prefer the loose leaves but teabags are just fine.   My grandmother was surprised at how strong I like my tea but that's just how I am; I love it strong and sweet. I would just nuke a mug

You When I said That I Wasn't Going To Talk About Krill?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
After my post that was filled with krill related search thingies yesterday, the manager of an Australian band Krill left a comment on that post. A shout out to Darren and Krill. *waves* Hi guys! I, of course, googled for the band and found their official website where they have samples of their music uploaded. I listened to their stuff and they're quite good, though it's not really my cup of tea

No Krill Here! 2nd Try.
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I'd actually posted an entry via email but some how, it didn't come through. So here it is again: Dear Internet Google Search people, I was looking through my site counter and I noticed that about half of the hits I get at this blog comes from people who googled for krill. This is what you get for putting a quote from Finding Nemo as the title of your blog. I just thought that scene was

Blood! I'll Give It!
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I'd initially wanted to talk about my gastronomical journey but having already posted it up at the food blog, I didn't really want to repeat again here so I'll talk about something else. It's been a few months since the last donation so when they said that they were going to have one in my area, I decided to go. Everything went well until I sat down in the donation area and waited for my turn.

Relieving Cabin Fever
1970-01-01 00:59:59
After being locked cooped up in the house for 3 days straight, it was very relieving to leave the house, even if it's just to watch a movie. The Significant Other came over for a visit yesterday and there was much cooking and panicking on my part to make sure that everything would go well. I'm panicky like that. I made Thai green curry and some Coney dog sauce, as I'd promised him. I was in the

I'm An Alpha Cook, What Are You?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Bong linked this article, He Cooks. She Stews. It's Love., on the food blog. After reading it, I've come to the conclusion that I'm definitely an alpha cook. I get very bossy in the kitchen and feel very agitated when anyone tries to help, even though I happen to need help. I feel like they're encroaching into my territory or something. I know I'm very particular about the way that things are

Cup A Pee.. Teeheeheehee!
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I went for a health screen earlier today. I got poked at, bled into tubes and had to pee in a cup. I found that I gained weight, so that would explain why my pants are so tight. I could barely zip myself up when I put on my traditional dress for a wedding last Sunday. It made my but look damn sexy but I could barely sit down. Peeing into the cup wasn't easy and not for the reasons you think.

Because I Was Bored And There Was Nothing Good On TV
1970-01-01 00:59:59
It's been a long, boring day. There's nothing much to do since all the malls and about 99.9% of the shops are closed. So what was left for me to do other than change the layout of this blog as well as the food blog. After spending most of the day in front of the computer, my mum said that she wanted to try making a traditional Nyonya biscuit; the Kuih Rose or Rose biscuit. I naturally turned to

Waiting For Mukhsin
1970-01-01 00:59:59
The first time I watched Yasmin Ahmad's film was when they shows Rabung on tv. I thought that it was a funny but a very different movie. I've never seen one like that and I thought it was very refreshing. Rabun was then followed by Sepet and Gubra, which have all garnered awards at the different international film festival awards. Her latest film, Mukhsin, has also been elected to compete in the

Fiction Friday
2007-03-01 17:00:00
I realised that it's been a while, since last November to be exact, that I've even attempted to write something other than the self-centred drivel that usually occupies this space. So to actually give myself a push, because I'm a great big procrastinating underachiever who lacks the drive and ambition, I'd like to try some thing new that involves everyone who reads this blog. Here's what you need

Marriage, What I Think It Is: Through The Eyes Of An Unmarried Observer
2007-03-04 03:16:00
In my teens, when I was young, single, alone and angsty, I thought that marriage would be the cure for all the loneliness and teenage angst I was going through. I thought what could be more perfect than having someone to love and to be loved by someone, sharing your life and have a family of your own. And then, there's the SEX. How naive I was. Now that I'm in my mid-twenties, and seeing my

The Bachelorette Pad Of My Dreams
2007-03-05 13:09:00
The apartment will either be a studio apartment, a loft or even a single bedroom that's big enough for me to entertain a few friends over. It'll be situated in an older neighbourhood, where there are friendly retirees playing chess or checkers at the void deck and the kids are out playing in the playground as they should be instead of being locked up at home and chained to their computer games.
