EMG Shannon’s Demo/ Test Buggy 2008-04-21 06:41:12
At EMG, we are always upgrading components to further our electric golf buggies performance, reliability and strength. My demonstration golf buggy has two of the latest modifications that will most likely appear within the next twelve months on the production model. We like to test these components for at least twelve months then go through the process of making the components simple to manufacturer. My buggy has a remote control stop/start which seems to be quite good once you get used to the way it works. Refinements are needed as the buggy can run out of distance to the remote control depending on the surfaces. Next step is to incorporate an aerial which I am sure will help overall distance. In saying that the buggy will travel in front of you easily at a 20 metre range which I think i Read more:Shannon

“Australian Made, Australian Grown” Campaign 2008-04-21 05:37:05
EMG Golf has now joined the “Australian
Made, Australian Grown
” Campaign
.
EMG completely support this, as we are always looking for a new direction in which to show a quality product that is Australian Made.
We do import two items for our electric golf buggies as we cannot manufacture all components, although we modify them prior to installation.
Over the coming weeks you will see our website updated with new photos, text and Australian Made logos throughout.

Wendels March Results 2008-03-25 04:11:57
As mentioned in my last Blogs we were traveling to Sawtell for their Easter weekend Classic Event. No winning results to report from myself but would like to congratulate players from Charlestown / Kurri Kurri and Nelson Bay that participated and won prizes. I didn’t come home empty handed – won the nearest the pin on the 7th hole with a shot of 92cm from the pin – got the birdie for those wondering!! A player from Sawtell won the Pro Pin event on this same hole with a “slam dunk” hole in one. It was a very enjoyable weekend and Sawtell Golf Club should be proud of their team effort – congratulations to them for a very well organized tournament.
My pink buggy from EMG golf was admired by many players as well. Many comments were received on the way it was built / how light Read more:March
March Golf Tip by Rick Maclean AAA Golf Professional 2008-03-22 04:07:36
So many golfers have trouble aligning to the target. Most right hand, right eye dominant golfers will tend to aim to the right of the line they believe they are set up to. (Opposite for lefties) When you get some time to practise try setting up to different targets then placing your golf club along the line of your toes and then stand behind and see where you are really aligned. If you aim consistently to one side or the other you must have to make some sort of compensation in your golf swing to try to hit the ball towards the target. Most swing faults can be attributed to grip, alignment and posture. Next column I will explain some good solid alignment basics to not only help you aim down the target line but also feel like you are as well.

Wendel’s February Results 2008-03-03 21:06:44
Well another month has passed with some very inconsistent results but have played well enough to reduce my handicap by 1 shot. With the weather unfavourable for many outdoor activities this month conditions were a little heavier than usual to contend with but that’s all part of playing and learning how to adapt on the day.
I have played all games at Muree apart from one. We had the opportunity of playing at Asquith – a very well maintained course with some very interesting holes. I found the fairways in very good condition despite the wet weather they have had in the Sydney area so played my fairway shots exceptionally well. Approaching the greens was quite a different story. With their greens being “like concrete” compared to my home course of Muree I found them a little diff Read more:February
Feburary Golf Tip By Rick Maclean AAA Golf Proffesional 2008-02-19 16:51:26
In general most golfers use golf balls that are too hard for the swing speed that they can consistantly generate. Golf ball tecnology has advanced greatly over the years and it has become obvious that most golf balls marketed up until recent times were 90 compression. Today manufacturers are producing golf balls with as low as 50 compression which would be more suitable to the lady golfer or senior player who does not generate the same swing speeds of yesteryear. While manufacturers will have their recommendations of what swing speed suits what compression ball the only true indication of which golf ball you should be using is to compare for your self. Ask your Golf Professional for more information and possible suggestions and then do your own comparisons. Tip.... Put the ego away and t Read more:Maclean

How people start to play golf by Wendel Musson 2008-01-30 04:50:34
I first became interested in playing golf while on holidays with other friends. Was always the “odd one out” for a while as everyone else played and I hadn’t had the opportunity. I then decided to hire a set of clubs while at Yamba to see how I would go. From then on, there was no stopping me from wanting to learn more about the game.
My first set of clubs cost approx $500 which included the bag and a pull buggy as well. How technology in buggies has changed my game from when I first started back in 1999.
Before deciding to venture out on the course amongst other more experienced golfers I completed a beginner’s class organised by WEA Hunter. Rick McLean was the professional / instructor at the time. His excellent knowledge of the golfing game and patience with beginners game Read more:people
Golf Buggy Personal Deliveries 2008-01-29 05:55:16
Locals Central Coast, Newcastle, and Sydney, EMG has been personally delivering buggies to these areas for quiet some time. Robert takes you through all the procedures from; assembling the buggy, fitting the battery, fitting your bag and showing how to use the ON/OFF switch and how to adjust the speed controller to your desired speed. He will also manoeuvre the buggy as if it’s on the golf course to show you how the buggy can be steered in tricky conditions. Knowing this from the outset, gives you an insight on how we have designed the buggy and how the design works best in its natural environment. Read more:Buggy

The Vintage Golf Course in The Hunter Valley 2008-01-27 17:40:49
The Vintage
has been host to 2 corporate golf days that I have played. It is a truly expansive course and it is a requirement to use a golf car to travel around the course. Even with the car it takes most of a day to get around the 18 holes. The Vintage features a 18-hole Greg Norman-designed golf course which
has been ranked among the best golf courses in Australia. The 18-hole
course measures 6,310 metres with a par of 71 and is the only Greg
Norman-designed golf course in NSW that is accessible to the public. It's a beautiful course to take in. There is a great variety of scenery and landscaping, lots of natural and man made water courses, huge tree lines and long drives with all different gradients, slopes and vegetation. For a beginner like myself this is a very challenging course, a c Read more:Hunter

Beresfield Golf Course 2008-01-27 17:34:49 With only 11 holes this is a terrific course to play a quick morning round or a round in the afternoon after work. It's all pretty flat and easy walking. The greens are fairly well maintained and there are some easy water traps and sand pits to navigate but even a very average golfer would be pretty right because unless you belt the ball into the long grass or outside the boundaries of the course you can be fairly sure to find the ball.Facilities at the club are basic but adequate and the pro shop is well stocked. This is the only golf course in Newcastle that currently has demo and display buggies provided by EMG Golf. It has also been host to a number of EMG Golf sponsored golf events.Shannon and I have played a few rounds at 'Bero', it's easy to get to, plenty of parking space, the cour
A great round of golf at Merewether Golf Club 2008-01-27 17:18:51

christmas 2007 Shannon and I played a round at Merewether Golf Club which is in Newcastle. For those unfamiliar with it, it roughly fills the area north of the army barracks in Adamstown, and west of the pacific highway that cuts along the ridge through Charlestown. It's a beautiful location, lots of trees and features. Even in the heat it's a really cool course to play because the trees along the edge of the course are very well advanced and probably quite mature. There's a terrific water feature at the Adamstown end of the course with lots of native birds and ducks. The greens are very lush and even in the rough there aren't many bare spots. The club has a number of full time grounds keepers who are always planting and tending the landscape. The club is financially supported by a
Remote control electric golf buggy 2008-01-27 16:48:41
Yesterday (27th January 2008) was my first opportunity to test the prototype remote control electric golf buggy. Shannon and I played a round at Beresfield Golf Course (Newcastle NSW Australia) and I was quite impressed with the remote option. The change to the base model includes a standard on/off remote control unit similar to the ones used for garage door openers or to disable security systems. It works as an override to the existing built in on off switch of the buggy. The remote is a simple keyring type control with two soft touch buttons.Range was around 20m, once it exceeds this range the buggy will continue on its course, some care is required to ensure that it is not accidentally driven into a dam.A few aspects which I would think worthy of revision if it ever reaches the producti Read more:Remote

Wendel's April Golf Results 2008-04-29 05:01:47
Well another month has passed and my month can be described as “not my best” but satisfying.
As I mentioned in my last Blogs I am making an extra effort to improve my fitness level to then hopefully improve the golf results. To start with it wasn’t a great idea as found muscles I hadn’t used before and the golf results weren’t improving either. In the early stages of the month I felt my flexibility and fitness had improved but then on the down side I lost the timing in my golf swing. I’m sure all golfers at my level can relate to this happening to them. After a few frustrating games, practice on the range, encouragement from my partner, close friends and local Golf Professional as well as self determination that “this game” wasn’t / isn’t going to beat me I have Read more:April
Wendels May Golf Results 2008-06-02 04:13:04
Another month has passed and it has been a satisfying month for myself. No great results to report of but just satisfied with my game most of the time. Have been chatting with others during the month as well as comparing my results with other players on golf link and most of those have the same feeling as myself – just want to enjoy the game & be consistent. When they do have a good game
Muree Ladies Golf Day 2008-06-03 07:06:28
On Tuesday 13th May I attended a Ladies Gold Day at Muree. We had a banner with EMG Golf on it and two buggies for display. I set up the buggies and some signage on the tables and around the room ready for when the ladies came in for lunch.
The day was a great success for Muree with a lovely morning after a few days of rain and the downpour waited until after lunch to come down. There were over
Wendels June Golf Results 2008-07-02 04:17:20
June 2008 will be remembered as being a successful month for Muree Ladies Golf members who participated in the Newcastle Hunter District Ladies Championships event held at Maitland / Kurri Kurri and Hunter Valley Golf and Country Club.
I was very disappointed with my results on the first day of play at Kurri Kurri and was not looking forward to playing again the next day at Maitland. After some
