Trip. Realized at 9 o'clock last night the trip started today at 8 am. I'm supposed to have a picnic lunch. I have no groceries. There is no McDonalds between here and the Field Trip site. It's lookin' like a pack of crackers and a warm coke for Boy 2 and me. (Oh, I kid. I'll pull it together fabulously in the last seconds. I always do, right?)Field Trips are magical times for an elementary schooler. I've got a couple of memorable ones I'll tell you about when I get back. Our Second Honeymoon, or more accurately, The Adventures of Mamaw and Papaw 2008-04-28 19:22:00 Luke and I are in the mountains taking a couple of days to belatedly celebrate our 18th anniversary. While here, we have come arrived at two overwhelming conclusions:We are old. We are boring. Here are the highlights of our trip thus far:1. We ate at Bullfish Grill. We arrived at 3:40 looking forward to a nice meal full of uninterrupted conversation. Since it was uninterrupted, we were able to eat and say all of our words in 33 minutes flat. We left at 4:13. 2. We shopped at Five Oaks. Found some adorable things for the kids at Old Navy. That's where the pleasant shopping ended. God in the Caves 2008-04-26 12:22:00 I mentioned yesterday that I went with my 4th Grade Son on his end of the year field trip to the Sequoyah Caverns. I intended to come back and laugh with you about my own 6th Grade excursion to the Atlanta Zoo in which I somehow managed to change boyfriends three times in one day (thankfully I'm now over that habit) to the hilarity of one of my son's classmates falling in the shark tank at the Chattanooga Aquarium. (It was only funny because the sharks were not the child-eating variety. Neither one of us had been there in years and thought there might be some new things there we'd like to see. My favorite shop was P. Oh How I Love Me a Banquet 2008-05-03 13:36:00 Just popping in for a moment because I am majorly coveting your prayers! I am so excited that in a few hours I'll be heading to my friend, Lisa-Writes', church to speak at their women's banquet. The theme absolutely rocks - Taste of Italy. I can't wait to see what all they've done to incorporate that into the night. Don't you just love being a woman? You would think at some point that one church's banquet would more or less look like another's but I've yet to be disappointed at how each groups unique personality shines in their women's events.
