Ready to Go! 2007-08-02 01:55:00 Obviously without some divine body of truth, I am unable to ascertain whether or not I am a condemned man. Not by God, at least not in this instance! I am talking about 'life' a single being, my life if you will. What I do know is fate can only give us a nudge & we should not rest on that alone. Yet I have an overwhelming feeling that I am done. As much as I care to be alive, I also feel as though I am ready to leave should it come about. Unfortunately life is not like a retail purchase, where you can return the goods if you don't like what you got. No one can ever go back (unless your Michael J Fox - right?) Smoking Kills - So does giving up! 2007-07-27 21:45:00 SMOKING You may have noticed that the counter for my 'Giving Up the Cigs' has been start-stop the last week or so. That is because I am struggling. I spent $60 on patches, & went with the 24 hour release, only to have some of the most hideous nights sleep I have ever encountered. Up at 3am, very agitated, unable to settle, going to work a few hours later, with my mind far from the job. I have tried the 16 hour patch, which is not worn to bed, but the morning after urge is too strong & I succumb to this every time & light up! The gum is crap, the tablets - too dangerous to use!And I wont spend $600 on acupunture, because I dont have the money & the success rate is not good enough! So what is next on the campaign to cull the fags?I guess all that is left is shear will power - but I dont know if I have enough of that to go around! Read more:Smoking

Candy for Big Kids 2007-07-23 15:51:00 I never told you I met someone did I?Sitting peacefully along side the beautiful (Murky) river that runs extensively throughout the city, I noticed a man walking by. Initially of course it was just a normal reaction, one where you sit, half dazed, watching the world pass you by. Anyhoo, by the second & third passing I was beginning to wonder if he liked the view or that I was sitting in the very spot that he wanted & this was his attempt to SHOO me away! It was neither, he actually wanted to sit with me & just that - he did!The usual greeting when a stranger approaches " Howz it goin?"From there the conversation took many turns & we talked about everything that was on our minds at the time, everything except the mutual attraction that was evident. BBQ - Booze & a few Barrrf's 2007-07-14 02:29:00 What a night! To Remember? I can't say with any degree of certainty! A small, intimate gathering of friends for a BBQ
& pre-partying drinks went very well. I cooked & did a damn good job under the influence. Then the 5 of us hit the dance clubs. I was drinking Cruiser Black - Lemon/Lime 7% a/l...& don't they just do the trick, very well. Although I should have stopped about 10pm, I had already had my quota and was feeling less than able & absolutely not 'willing', which in turn meant I was in no state to get down & dirty had there been that opportunity in the first place. I was so drunk, by midnight I got myself into a cab and went home. From there I managed 4 visits to the porcelain throne where I deposited very colourful portions. Let me tell you I have not been sick from alcohol for a long time, not like that. I felt like I was on my last legs. 35th Year of Shaney 2007-07-12 18:36:00 The day has arrived & I celebrate my XXXV Birthday! And I must say I feel every bit my age. A few years back I could have easily said I had the energy of an 18 year old, but alas, the last few years have been full of anguish, unscrupulous dieting, poor sleep & a hectic lifestyle, which I am lead to believe causes one to age at a more rapid pace. Oh sure just grab my ears pull them to the back of my head and soon enough I'll rid of all those crows feet, laugh lines & any other cracks in my face! But it wont change how my body feels. This month also marks the 20th year I have been smoking - A challenge I am soon to face! I have decided this coming Thursday I am going to attempt to give them away in a plight to regain the full use of my lungs & put a stop to the huffing & puffing that has worsened - profoundly! Celebration Fiasco!! 2007-07-08 17:42:00 I'm a little bummed out at the moment. And slightly angry too.This coming Friday is not only significant to me but someone very close to me, a person who has grown up knowing everything there is too know about me, someone who has always been there, no matter how far away she may be. My Sister! This coming Friday 13th July 07 will see us both turn 35 & it also marks the 14th year we have not celebrated our Birthday together. No matter how much nagging, pleading, begging & even blackmailing - she will not alter her mindset on fore-going any form of celebration this year. A nice bottle of Scotch is coming my way - just in time for my up coming 21st...OK so it will mark the 14th time I have celebrated that particular age...But who counts when you hit 30 - right? Burgers that break you.... 2007-06-30 20:45:00 ARGGGGH! I treated myself to a Bacon & Egg Burger with the lot yesterday. It was huge, it was messy & I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into it. What I did not expect was to break a tooth. Not just any tooth - one of my K-9's! All that is left is the stump. I always new I had to be careful as I have quite brittle teeth & have done well so far to keep most of them in tact. The bacon was not just crispy, it was ROCK HARD! Housemate Tantrums 2007-08-05 08:48:00 Tonight was the start of Aussie IDOL. I hadn't even realised it was airing until I curled up on the lounge & flicked through the channels. My housemate came along & said he was going out to grab some dinner, asking me if I wanted something. When he returned I walked into the kitchen and mentioned that Aussie Idol was on. To which he said "I don't care about Idol, it stupid" Hmmm I thought! So I asked him if he liked Guy Sebastian & Anthony Callea and mentioned that they are both products of the show he disliked. When all of a sudden his face turned red, he tensed up and raised his voice in shear detest that I had questioned his motive. I thought he was going to burst a blood vessel in his neck. I said forget it & walked away, leaving him to eat dinner alone. But it upset me. I was hurt by this sudden outburst for no reason. Its' Show Time - No Go Time! 2007-08-08 19:24:00 The annual show is on here in Brisbane for the next 10 days - starting today! I have not been for so many years and was finally looking forward to going this year - until I got sick! While I don't anticipate that I will be sick for the next 10 days & I certainly don't want to be - It is also now a $$ issue having not been to work all this week & knowing I am not getting paid for the time away, makes it a little hard to stretch the budget to allow such a puerile indulgence.Whats funny about it all, is that I receieved an email this morning from a local gay magazine, congratulating me on the winning of a double pass to this very spectacle. While a wonderful suprise, it covers the cost of the entry fee yet the majority of the expenses are inside. So without being hit in the ass with a rainbow I have decided to give the pass to my housemate, as he is going this Sunday with his family. At least someone can enjoy my good fortune!
Winter Blues Come with EXTRAS 2007-08-07 18:46:00 Everyone get out your violin and start playing some sorry ass 'poor you' melody. I am sick!OK seriously though I did wake up Saturday morning and felt like the surviving trace of roadkill. From there I plunged into deep aches & pains in all the movable parts of my body. Headaches, sneezing, coughing. Just a normal dose of the winter blues! Until Sunday night, I started to get an ear ache that reached as far up into my skull it could & there it lingered, all night. All day Monday & Monday night. Then along came the fluid discharge - from my ear! I could feel it trickle from within, as it crept toward the great outdoors. I just wanted to stick things in there and twist. (Don't be rude) So I went to the Dr's yesterday & it just so happens I have a middle ear infection in my left ear and inflammation in my right.
