How to kill a social life for $1.23
2007-03-07 21:29:00
Anyone who has worked in hospitality would know that weekend work pays the best rate, hence without it a wage would look quite dismal...I don't have a problem with working weekends, but doing graveyard as well means I have had to give up all social activities with friends due to my working life. I no longer dance & drink in merriment with my pals. I have Sunday & Monday nights off, where everyone else I associate with, is sleeping in readiness for their own working week. What drove me to the madness of graveyard was the extra $$ one gets for working, what is considered the bowel hours of industry. In my last job as a night shifter, I was getting an allowance of $3.75 every hour worked past 10pm. As you may well know for a 38 hour week that can add up. I learned this morning after recieving my first pay slip for nightshift (in my new job) that I get a whopping allowance of $1.23 per hour. So I work the shittiest hours, including friday & saturday night & have no active social l

Always Looking DOWN
2007-03-08 23:48:00
I realised lastnight, I spend far too much time looking down, I'm not talking about negative thoughts here, I mean literally walking & standing with my eyes looking in a southern direction. I have spent so long doing it, that if I hold my head high for too long I get aches & pains. Maybe it is partially from not wanting to be noticed, my timid persona. Surey I am not so clumsy that I have to watch my feet every move I make. Nor am I interested in myrmecology! There must be a reason for it. Was my head screwed on straight? Are my tootsies so adorable I cant stop looking at them? My poor adam's apple has had to carry the burden of my chin all these years!Do you look down? Or are you always watching everything around you?

Brisbane 'BIG GAY DAY'
2007-03-12 23:41:00
Sunday was the annual gathering of LGBT community here in Brisbane . An opportunity to participate in a cramming session. Sweating, drunken swarms, squashed into an area that has for the longest time has been to little in size to accommodate the ever increasing numbers. Dave (The Gay Farmer) Graham from Big Brother attended the days event, I think I managed a glimpse in his direction, when he hit the stage for a bum rumble with a drag queen, other than that his whereabouts were of no importance. The star studded line up was DRAB. Ego & testosterone levels were at at all time high. Dikes were busy pushing their weight around, like a great army, marching to do battle. Then there were the brain dead hypocrite's who approached me in a hope I would have some magic pills or a bit of leaf to ease their sufferings. I only wished I had of worn a T-shirt that said 'DRUGS REALLY ARE FOR DOPES'My only comfort, I chose to become merrily drunken, and after awhile I numbed to the constant pushing,

Are you being served STUD?
2007-03-14 21:20:00
The last 2 nights at work have been both heavenly & stir crazy. Why you may ask?A group of HUNKY footballers stayed at my hotel. Now amongst a team you will always see those that are not so blessed with handsome features & chiseled physiques, & have a more rugged, bulky look. Ahh.... but every single one of these boys were delicious. Cheeky smiles, broad shoulders, tight around the hips & for the love of a perky, well rounded bum in a pair of tight jeans I was in heaven. I had to keep my hands busy for they could have easily run away & grabbed the first pair of buns to walk by. This morning was the ultimate tease!!!!!!! 4am in the foyer & the boys (after a heavy night on the town) were ripping their T-shirts off and lazing about in the lounge area. At one stage I was waiting for the hotel lift & one of the boys stopped along side of me. When the doors opened he said "Are you going UP mate?"You could just imagine my thoughts on that. *winks* A few I have had to let into their ro

Love is Love is Love!
2007-03-17 23:02:00
Love at theof all things!I remember once upon a time, I would agree that "All You Need Is Love" For it has been responsible for a few decisions that shrewdness could not deliver. Beyond all that is reasonable, should Love stand in the way of judgment.Listen to your heart should your mind be incapable of the wisdom you seek. But too long now has Love taken me down a path, the wrong path. When someone hurts you, or is disloyal, who will you listen too? Will you be able to lean on your own emotional structure to find the answers you seek? When someone tells you to listen to your heart, what does the heart know? It is but a functioning organ of the body, a stringent purpose. No beating heart can choose the course of life one should take. It is a mind set, an emotional attachment, a feeling. It is but a thought. I no longer believe a heart can be broken; it is but a figure of speech. I believe I can be emotionally broken, distraught, upset. I often have a giggle to myself now when someone sp

Memoirs of Diadem Lane Pt1
2007-03-26 06:07:00
I remember growing up in my Grandmothers house. It was time where insignificance was rife & my tender, inexperienced mind was sheltered from the turmoil’s of adulthood. With exception to just one moment.I was the little boy who lived down the lane. You only ever saw one car pass by in any one direction.Up the road lived the Miller’s we had met them playing in the vacant lot next door to the Surgery. Four of the nicest kids anyone could hope to meet. Ranald was the only boy, a boy with special needs. I didn’t know it at the time but my new best friend was very sick with leukemia. He was 2 years younger than I, but when you’re a kid, the last thing you think about is age.Ashley, Kirsty & Nadine were all beautiful girls, somewhat older than my siblings & me, yet we all shared time as though we were one big family, growing up together, learning from one another. After a few years we began to notice the torment other kids pitched towards Ranald. He had lost his hair through aggre

Food for Busy People
2007-04-01 00:32:00
During my break last night I was watching the new Plasma TV they installed in the staff room & casually devouring my breakfast. A comedy skit was playing, however...... I think I chose the wrong time to watch it or the wrong time to eat! The skit was called 'Pre-Chewed Food' for those who dont have the time or perhaps the teeth to chomp on their tucker. When it came time to show how the product is manufactured, was the moment my spoon halted at the drop of my jaw. Production consisted of 2 rows of workers, sat at a table, stuffing their gobs with meals, chewing, chewing & then 'SPITTING' the process into a bowl, which was then poured into jars, labelled & ready for the shelves.I must admit I found it just as hilarious as I did sickening & I could not eat the remainder of my breaky. "Pre-Chewed Food, anyone for hotdogs, steak & vege, apple pie with whipped cream? Apparently they even do Thanksgiving Dinners.

I've started seeing my Ex again...There I said it! However..... in saying so, it only happened 'Monday' of this week..We spent the day together on the beach, the weather was magical, a light breeze, perfect sunshine & a near deserted location - mainly due to it being a working day for most others. I did get sun burnt feet & my newly sheared head of hair gave way - to a little too much UV & I feel the tingle of 'singe' upon my scalp...It was meant to be a picnic lunch, completely organised by 'him' of course but as usual, he simply rolled out of bed into the car & did not have time to pack the hamper...Yes I was a little disappointed, because for a split second I felt like the old 'him' was shining through...But HEY - Lets face it, he did make the effort to invite me to spend the day with him, which was totally unexpected. And we did manage to have a nice day after all...What does it mean for the future: Only time will tell!I am certainly not going to expect miracles, n

Lately..... in the life of Shaney
2007-04-13 00:15:00
The last couple of weeks have been quite frustrating, yet seem to have flown by ever so quickly. I spent another weekend with my EX, helping him clean his Father's salt water, marine tank. It looks fabulous now, however I was stunned to see the state of it when I first saw...I was surprised to see there were actually 'living' fish...He cooked me a nice dinner Friday night & we sat and talked, watched movies...And then it happened...I got a tingling sensation on my left ear, I knew damn well what that meant & sure enough the next morning I woke up with a darn 'cold sore', blistering, itching, aching mess it was...My glands were swollen, I had a head & ear ache...I know you may be thinking cold sores usually appear around the lips or under the nose.... Hell NO.... I couldn't possible fit into he majority, it would not seem right for the unique individual that I am..... Pffft...Yes indeed I get cold sores on my ears...Blah!I do have a photo, but I wont give cause for y'all to b

2 Men & 1 Hotel Room
2007-04-17 09:18:00
I knocked on the hotel door. A young looking Val Kilmer, with dark hair, tanned, soft skin, nothing but a towel covering his midsection greeted me. A Chinese symbol graced the left shoulder. He smiled with perfect symmetry, the kind of smile you get lost in... "Come in" he said "You have a pretty face" Hmmm... I thought & smiled back. I don't consider myself pretty but then he was young & perhaps a little nervous - like me."Coffee?" he asked in a gentle voice."Love one, Thank you!"I sat in the lounge room & made myself comfortable. He returned shortly after, placed the cups on the table, dropped his towel and laid face down on the sofa directly in front of me. I did well to maintain eye contact, although I had a great view of his firm, tanned & might I say - adorable backside..His legs were smooth & seemed to glow. Then just as I began to feel at ease he simply blurted out..."I want your #### in my mouth"I must say I was a little taken back by his forward nature. I figured thi

There's no Place like Home
2007-04-23 23:57:00
I wonder what it must feel like to have a place of my own, to walk to the door for the very first time, turn the key & walk into “My Very Own Home” An abode – built according to my provisions. I see bush land, tangled vines, vast ranges with incredible views of the sunset. Tranquil afternoons spent lazing about on the sweeping verandah.Polished timber floors, open fire place. A spiral staircase leads me to the sleeping quarters. Soft lighting radiates a romantic mood, not for the sake of feeling loved but rather a place you just love to be. I take a short stroll through the backyard to the gazebo, surrounded by tropical plants. Set the lanterns to a soft glow, switch on the soulful tunes and relax with glass of my favorite & a few good friends. The only sounds are that of nature. Listen to the sweet melodies from a far, the placid whirling of an afternoon breeze through the tall timbers. This is my home, our home but more importantly, this is me!Once upon a time I never desir

Although it has only been a little over a week, it feels like a lifetime since I touched down on my blog...I wonder h0w everyone else is doing in the blogosphere? PC issues of late have related to my absence but hopefully 'now' with a crossed fingered stroke of luck - nothing less will pop up & give me grief...This is kind of a strange post because this morning a strange thing happened...Finances are ultra tight this week & I have been struggling to make ends meet, not even having a few dollars to spare...So this morning at work I was doing my routine check of the 5 level car parking facility at the hotel - for rubbish...Yes indeed we have some of the worst litterbugs on the globe...I cannot begin to tell you of 'what' I have had to sight on my rounds...But what I came across this morning was an "Instant Scratch It" ticket lying on the ground...It had been played and obviously to the one who bought it, it was not a winner so they casually dumped it in the car park on their way

Thousands protest 'couples' law in Rome
2007-05-12 23:57:00
As read on NineMSN World NewsSunday May 13 07:22 AESTHundreds of thousands of Italians have rallied at a church square in Rome to protest against a proposed law that would give greater rights to unmarried couples , including gays and lesbians. The draft legislation, which requires parliamentary approval, has divided Italy's ruling coalition, angered the powerful Catholic church and stirred passionate debate.Waving banners and dancing to tambourines and trumpets, more than 500,000 people poured into the square outside Rome's Saint John in Lateran cathedral to support traditional family values based on marriage between a man and a woman.A large cardboard wedding cake with a bride and groom on top stood next to the stage, while nuns, parents and children chanted "Long live the family".BLA BLA BLA ....End of 'Soundbyte'Do these hypocritic lobby groups and anti-gay religious persons really think by opposing 'equality' in society (regardless of gender or marital status) that we are all
