I've gone through my entire blog and deleted every picture of my children. I'm not paranoid but I definitely don't want people saving my childrens' pictures to their computers and using them for anything sadistic, impure, immoral, etc. I have, however, kept up pictures of decorating and things of that nature. My profile pic is still up though I may change it back to the one of just my face looking up at the camera. We shall see!Anyway, I want to know what everyones' summer plans are now that spring is in full swing! Any plans or projects you're working on?!

I got some hairs cut
2008-04-25 13:43:00
Okay, I got my hairs cut! Woo hoo! I love getting my hair cut. I don't do it very often, as I've mentioned before, because 1). I can't take my kids with me, 2). I sometimes forget or other things are planned, 3). I don't have money!!! So I'm pleased to say I finally got off my booty and did it!Here's a BEFORE:I look like Ariel! LOL!And here is the AFTER: I went to B.eauty Br.ands. The stylist did an amazing job! However, she was a bit rude to me. She said maybe three words to me and towards the end she sighed and said, "I'm overlapping appointments. You should've scheduled an extra 15 minutes." WHOA! Back off, sista! I just smiled and didn't say a word. Needless to say I will go back to that "salon" but probably a different stylist!

"Why?" and "Eggs"
2008-04-26 23:19:00
This is going to be an "Elaina post"! Some funny happenings over at our place lately. First thing I want to share is that Elaina is starting to ask, "Why?" We were in our third story (I'd call it an attic but it is finished and the word "attic" always reminds me of something dark and dreary) and we have birds living outside a window next to the air conditioning unit."Elaina, do you hear the birds? They're outside.""Why?""Uh, well they live outside, sweetie.""Why?""They live outside because that's where they have to live. They eat outside.""Why?""Well their food it outside. They eat worms.""Why?""BECAUSE. God. Put. Them. Outside.""Okay!"I thought this was 4-year-old behavior but I'm no expert. It's quite funny and I love science so getting to explain things like this is fun. But when you ar

Alright you guys gave me so much inspiration for this garden. I already have spots picked out for a lot of the plants/flowers mentioned. I keep feeling as if there are SO MANY flowers out there. I like the idea of mixing plants and flowers, too, for more color and a richer, fuller look.Anne, I will totally take anything your mom and friends will give out! I never thought about asking other people. I definitely don't have money and was planning on just buying little bits here and there. This will be so much better! I can just make cookies or something for anyone who "donates" a starter. I'll go with you out to your old house, if you want, and help you dig up your old plants (so not joking! then we can both spruce up our yards!). Now before anyone else thinks this is weird, they're still Ann

As if I didn't give myself enough projects this summer... I want to plant some things! First thing first, I have been working on a few projects already. Today I spray-painted a chair. My MIL found it on the side of the road. It's really sturdy, wood, but it was painted white with blue hearts and things all over it (very country). So I spraypainted it black to use as a computer chair!Second, I started painting the trim in our third story. That is turning out to be a pain in my tush! But it must be done. I've already started.Third, Daniel and my BIL (Anne's husband) cut down a Redbud tree that was in front of our house today. I really wanted them to cut it down but I felt really sad about it at the same time. I've always been very environmentally conscious so to cut down a tree was very hard

Prayers
2008-05-01 22:51:00
One cute, funny little thing from tonight. After we were told we no longer had tornado warnings (yeah, they just turned the sirens on about 30 minutes afterwards) I took the cranky girls up to bed. Elaina got into bed, snuggled down, and stared at me with those big eyes."Momma, I wake up happy tomowoah.""Okay! Mommy really wants you to wake up happy," I told her with a smile, to show her I was pleased with that statement. Then Elaina closed her eyes and said this, "Jesus, I wake up happy tomowoah. Make Abby wake up happy tomowoah. Amen."P.S. Jewels, in order to get Elaina to settle down some nights she is fighting going to bed, I just say, "Now don't you want to go to bed like a big girl, like Hannah?" And other nights when she is more than willing to hop into bed she tells me, "I go to bed

What a day this has been...
2008-05-01 19:16:00
I have been a busy bee today. Dishes, laundry, gutting bathrooms, going on a walk, finishing clearing out the rocks and twigs from yard... oh yeah... I'm tired! Incredibly tired. Yes, I finished cleaning up the bathroom Daniel gutted. I loaded three boxes full of old tile and sheetrock and drug it outside, then vacuumed because I didn't want anything hurting my babies when they got up from naps. I'LL TAKE PICS TOMORROW OF THE YARD AND BOXES OF JUNK!Tonight we had severe weather. I was watching U.gly B.etty when the news cut in with all of this stuff. I kept thinking, "Okay, go back to the show already!" Well I missed UB and GA and Lost. SIGH!!! No one say a word to me until I watch it online! The sirens went off and we ran upstairs to get the babies and took them to the basement. Elaina sn

Multiple things...
2008-04-30 21:19:00
So much to say, so much to blog about! First of all, I spent my day working in our front yard. I raked up the yard and then I dug out all of the rocks out of the bed where I want to plant flowers. The spot is in front of our front porch. We have a big covered porch! I want to put in one of those wooden porch swings. Right now I have some furniture on there that I found... where else? But on the side of the road. That furniture is a totally different story! It needs paint BAD.So there were a TON of rocks in that flower bed. Some were so huge I couldn't pick them up. I had to roll them out. There was also a million worms (*shudder*). I may have also found some new species of bugs (totally kidding). No wonder nothing has grown there! There have been a billion rocks of all shapes and sizes. The

Just Enchanted, thank you!

Today has been crazy!!! We have "bulky pickup" today, except it never came. So we hauled all of these heavy boxes to the curb (full of tile and sheetrock from the first floor bathroom) and it's still outside. Yuck! I hope it doesn't rain because those boxes won't hold. And then we went to Vinca's, a jewelry store on the Plaza in downtown KC. I had taken my wedding ring to be re-sized and it has been ready since Wednesday. I haven't worn it in TWO YEARS because I got so swollen during my pregnancy with Abby and then, well... let's just say the swelling never went away! So now I am typing at you while being blinded in the eye by my freshly cleaned diamond wedding ring.Afterwards we had to head to Wolly World because we needed a few necessities. So you know how that goes over... we get somethi

Free Jewelry! with UPDATE!
2008-05-02 17:43:00
This is not a paid advertisement or anything like that. I just have to let you girls know because this is truly amazing. I found an article in W.oman's D.ay M.agazine about S.ilver J.ewelry C.lub. You can get FREE silver jewelry when you pay $5.99 shipping. The reason being is they only have four things up for grabs at a time with limited sizes, just so they can get out there in the market.Makes great Mother's Day or Father's Day gifts!!! I showed Daniel so I could hint. The columnist at the magazine said the silver is real and she is sensitive to nickel so she knows it is high quality. This place is being advertised everywhere. But like everything you buy online, make sure you check BBB (B.etter B.usiness B.ureau) and google them to see if you can find complaints. They use mostly genuine g

Abigail's Bedroom
2008-05-03 23:25:00
First off, Abigail is one of the most hilarious kids I've ever seen, even at such a young age. She is so bouncy and joyful and full of life. I can't say it enough. I just want to squeeze her sometimes. When I tell her "No!" she stops in her tracks and clasps her hands behind her back, as if trying to control herself from temptation! Today I painted her room! I moved her crib into Elaina's room and they're sound asleep right now. I'm sure the morning will be interesting! Naptime was definitely interesting... lots of giggling and toy throwing going on. This is a before shot...Getting started with taking things off the walls!Getting the room prepped and cleared out! Already did the trim and now cutting in with the purple... it was darker than I expected! But I love it!!! Purple is my favorit

Here's a Better Picture
2008-05-04 21:21:00
As Anne said in her comment, the pictures don't do it justice. It's very girly and beautiful. In lieu of painting her room I have spray-painted her dresser (you can see it in the picture). I painted the main part black and the drawers the same cream as the trim. It looks really good but I can't take pics yet as it must dry (can't put hardware back on and drawers in). Also I'm about to decoupage some fabric onto outlet covers for her room! This should be fun and exciting!!! I was looking on e.ba.y but people want up to $10 for ONE outlet cover when I can make this myself. I have all the materials. Will post more later. Hopefully I can separate the girls back to their own rooms soon as they spent 2 1/2 hours falling asleep tonight. Lovely!

Loads of pictures!
2008-05-06 14:45:00
I do have a couple pictures of Abby posted here but you can't see her face so I'm going to post them!On Sunday the Kansas City Museum had a special family event. They were showcasing their animal exhibit for the last time. They are currently returning the mansion back to it's original purpose or whatever. Check out the link and you can see a picture of this enormous mansion that is just five blocks from my house!!! I love their grounds because it's always so manicured and has blooms and trees! So anyway, we go and it was neat and all. As we're leaving the girls (and Buddy, my nephew) all got a box of animal crackers. I thought that was so cool. And then the guy smiled and pulled up this huge bag of stuffed bears! He gave each of the kids an enormous stuffed bear for coming to the exhibit! A

Heaven
2008-05-07 21:14:00
I recently posed a question to Randy Alcorn about whether or not we should speak to our loved ones in Heaven . Specifically my mom. If you click on his name you can read his point-of-view from a Biblical standpoint on it. I am bawling my eyes out (good thing I can type without needing to see).I feel as though a heavy burden has been lifted and that I don't need to shove my feelings aside. By the way, Randy Alcorn is considered the leading researcher in what the Bible says about Heaven. I've read his book, "Safely Home" and absolutely loved it. So check it out sometime if you're in need of a good read (it is a fictional novel). He has a ton of other books as well. For those of you who don't know, my mom died of breast cancer on November 15, 2004. She had been fighting it for 5 years. The firs

2008-05-08 23:54:00
So in honor of my 101th post I should post 101 poems, right? Nah!!! I won't bore you to death. But since Marisa had a post about sleeptalking, I had to dig out my poetry book to find a quote I wrote of a roomie who was sleeptalking. And because I dug that out, I had to share some awesome poetry! Yeah, yeah... I like to toot my own horn. Watch out! I'll publish an anthology soon. Some news
2008-05-09 16:44:00
I finally stopped procrastinating and went to see my doctor today. If you remember I had some strange cycles ever since Abigail was born. I also had absolutely no CM production (still don't). AF would come late and then last for TWO WEEKS. This last cycle I thought I was miscarrying, it was so bad, but it only lasted 5 days compared to 10-14 days.So labs revealed that my LH and other hormones were normal (including thyroid) and also my insulin and glucose levels were perfect (my insulin was 89 and anything over 140 is bad) except for testosterone (also called androgens). I also had an ultrasound done and all I was told was "enlarged left ovary and multiple follicles". I assumed multiple follicles meant there were eggs wanting to mature. No, they were considered cysts. But TINY ones.Becaus
