Discount airlines in Asia
2008-04-14 05:29:33
Asian carriers have often offered lower fares than their European or American rivals. Now they are starting to catch the wave of discount airlines, pioneered in the US and Europe. In South-East Asia, an ASEAN-wide open skies agreement is in the works, but in the rest of the continent flights are still severely restricted by bilateral agreements.Asian carriers are generally much cheaper than their American or European rivals, and there are some great bargains to be had. The low-cost airline industry in Asia is sure to boom in the coming years. All fares quoted below are one-way (except where noted), include taxes and charges, and are widely available. Flight destinations may change and airlines may go bust without notice. Here are (Below) some of the low cost Asian carriers with their logo's

What is causing the flight of European airlines from Australia?
2008-04-14 05:02:30
, the land "down under", enjoyed a plethora of European airlines coming to it's shores, for decades. But, now, one by one the very same airlines who were bringing thousands upon thousands of passengers, eagerly awaiting to see this country, are now deserting it, by withdrawing it's services, leaving only British Airways and Virgin Atlantic airlines to fly into Australia .The last European airline to withdraw it's services from Australia was Austrian airlines in 2007.Among those airlines who withdrew their services from Australia are: KLM, which first flew to Australia in 1938, with a weekly Sydney to London flight.A journey that took eight days!Alitalia, now fighting for it's survival, was bringing Italian migrants to this country in the 1940's and 1950's, began their scheduled services in

SO YOU WANNA VISIT KARON BEACH NEAR PHUKET?
2008-04-14 04:33:12
://www.tourismthailand.org/We visited Phuket after a long bus journey from Hat Yai in February 2008.When we arrived at the bus terminal it was past 8PM, the town itself has got onlyaccomodation for tourist arriving with groups and thus do not cater to single travellers or backpackers. For that you need to go out of town to various beach areas usually about a few miles out of town.At that hour of the night it was impossible to find decent and cheap mode of transport (usually available from 6 AM to 6PM) so we were at the mercy of toutsasking the exorbitant fares of 400BHT to to one of those beaches. We were shocked to find that even the tourist bureau (across from the bus terminal) was telling us to take one of these pirate taxis (pirate because private citizens using their own vehicles) to

Rail versus Air!
2008-05-02 01:23:19
OK! So you are in Europe or planning to go to Europe. How best to see Europe? By Car? By rail? or By air? Well, about ten years ago, the answer was simple -rail!I don't even want to mention the car, although moreconvenient, the rental charges are notoriously high, price of petrol and parking charges, not to mention thetraffic, makes a car not a good choice, unless of courseyou got tons of money to spend at your disposal! As the cost of air travel in them days was costlyenough to deter you from flying around.now these days, with airlines like EasyJet andRyanair and myriads of other low cost airlinescharging, what would have been ridiculous prices adecade ago, you think "Hey that's cheap! I'll fly"Now comes the numbers and as soon as they add up you will maybe, change your mind. Here's
