FOTD : Milani Wild Violets
2008-04-18 06:55:00
Here is a look that I did with the Milani Eyeshadow Quad in Wild Violets. This is a very pretty quad with awesome pigmentation and this look is great on dark eyes. You can purchase this quad at a drugstore for about 5 bucks.I mainly used the two colors on the left side of the quad, and added M.A.C.'s Nylon as a highlighter to the brow bone. In addition I lined my lids with a purple eyeliner pencil (don't remember the brand), and added my Lancome Fatale mascara and was good to go.On my face I used M.A.C. Prep + Prime as my primer, M.A.C. Full Coverage Foundation in C40, Studio Fix in NC 35, and Chanel's Blush in Mocha. For my lips I used M.A.C.'s Lollipop Loving from the Heatherette collection and topped it off with Nars Lipgloss in Turkish Delight.See the images below for clarification on

2008-04-20 18:45:00
So I decided to put my Dress Camp to test today and loved how the colors came together. I used all of the colors involved in the palette and two of the three lip colors. On my face I used M.A.C. Prep + Prime as my primer, M.A.C. Full Coverage Foundation in C40, Studio Fix in NC 35, and the Dress Camp Powder Pink Blush. For my lips I used Dress Camp's Too Fab Lipstick and topped it off with Dress Camp's She Gold Lipglass. For my eyes I used Dress Camp's Sunny Girl, Golden Gold, and Trend Eyeshadow. I used Revlon's colorstay liquid eyeliner and Lancome Fatale's mascara. For my brows I used Maybelline's Ultra Brown eyebrow powder.See the images below for clarification on the steps. You may need to click on each image to enlarge them. Have fun!DONT FORGET!!! I am giving away one of these beaut

M.A.C. Dress Camp Recap
2008-04-19 11:56:00
This collection has made M.A.C. history! The Dress Camp collection became the most anticipated makeup collection not only in the history of M.A.C. but cosmetic history PERIOD! Never have I seen something so exclusive and so limited and I am very lucky and fortunate to have been a part of that.I must say that out of all 2008 collections for M.A.C. I definitely was excited to hear about this particular launch, but never did I think it would receive the attention that it did; simply because Dress Camp is a designer clothing collection from Japan that not too many people know or have heard about in the states. It's definitely not as popular or as known as let's say...Heatherette; and in that note I DEFINITELY expected wayyy more out of the Heatherette collection than what I did of Dress Camp;

This is soooo much better than M.A.C PRO!!!
2008-04-23 12:02:00
Hey dolls! Look at what came for me in the mail today! My Make Up Forever Backstage Discount Card!!! Yay!!! This baby entitles me to a 40% off all MUFE (Make Up For Ever) products at the MUFE Boutique here in NYC or through phone orders. I am super stoked because I love this line even more than M.A.C., and its super expensive so the 40% definitely helps out! Yippee! For those of you who are unfamiliar with Make Up For Ever, it is a French cosmetic line which is simply astonishing. In my opinion the quality is superior to that of M.A.C. and as far as pigmentation, they seriously have the BEST shadows on the planet. They even make cosmetics for synchronized swimmers! Make Up For Ever was established in 1984 by Dany Sanz and Jacques Waneph (two very renowned MUA's); and now the company is pa

Meet Foxy!
2008-04-24 14:34:00
I have the cutest Shiba Inu named Foxy, and I swear she loves makeup almost as much as I do. I caught her snooping in one of my traincases today exploring some makeup and thought it was too cute so I taped it and thought it would be cute to share what her top picks are! Check it out below:

REVIEW : Nix'ie Cosmetics Mineral Eyeshadows
2008-04-24 08:22:00
Yesterday, I came home and received a wonderful thing in the mail....makeup! I love coming home to makeup, especially when its unexpected. Ahh...the perfect way to end the day! When I opened the mysterious box I discovered the most beautiful palette from Nix'ie Cosmetics . It was a 6-well eyeshadow palette containing some gorgeous shades, perfect for the spring. Nix'ie Cosmetics is a makeup line based out of California that is starting to catch the attention of many. I have read several reviews about their products and I have honestly yet to read anything bad, so this means that I was thrilled to start experimenting and playing with the palette so that I could experience what the hype was all about. First, I must start off by saying that these shadows are huge in size! The eyeshadow pans

REVIEW : M.A.C Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation (Loose) - Am I The Only One NOT RAVING About It???
2008-04-25 12:09:00
I probably feel like the only person in the beauty world who has not hopped on the mineral makeup bandwagon. Yes I hear great things about it and how amazing its supposed to be for your skin and I keep hearing raves about certain companies that are supposed to be phenomenal, but something in me is hesitant and wants to continue to go the eh, lets say... 'traditional' route. Perhaps I am just being vain (and forgive me if I am!) but maybe I would just seriously feel better about trying it out if one of the higher end lines would release a mineral makeup line. So when M.A.C. launched the Mineralized loose powder I was immediately intrigued. I missed the limited MSF collection and now the shades that they have available (both regular and natural) don't match my skin tone at all so this is so

Lipgloss Can Cause Cancer? WTF!! Doesn't Everything Else In The World Cause It Too???
2008-05-01 15:05:00
Okay, so here I am ready to rant about the latest MSNBC article suggesting that lipglosses can invite skin cancer. Before I proceed with this entry I must present you with the disclaimer and remind you that this is MY blog and MY personal opinions. If you don't like it...tough luck. Now onto the article. My good friend emailed me the link to this article which hit the net about two days ago regarding the link between lip glosses and skin cancer. Apparently some unamed dermatologists suggest that "the slick, shiny nature of the gloss could be making the sun’s UV rays hit harder" (Okay, notice how they said 'could be'!!!). “These lip glosses can make more of the light rays penetrate directly through the skin instead of getting reflected off of the skin’s surface,” says Dr. Christine B

Tagged! Six Querky Things About Me...
2008-05-01 08:17:00
So I've been tagged by the lovely Anu to share six querky facts about me...oh geez....here we go!1)Yes, I do let my Foxy kiss me on the mouth! (So what! Dogs have cleaner spit than humans!!!)2)I obsess over dirty nails. I am constantly picking under my nails to remove any trait of dirt that I can or cannot see. 3)Ever since I was a baby, I've always woken up moody. Maybe I'm just not too much of a morning person, but every one in my family knows it and my mom even has pictures of me as a toddler with a grumpy frown on first thing in the morning. I'm glad to wake up each day, you just have to give me a while to get warmed up, I guess.4)I haven't read an actual book (besides text books), in a REALLY long time...is that bad?5) Inherited from my mother and a few other women in my family; throu

TGIF Because I Am Super Bitchy Today!!! LOL! (A Note to My Readers)
2008-05-02 07:23:00
Today is seriously one of those days, and I mean THOSE days! I just feel bitchy and pissed and just grumpy...probably for no reason, but of course to me everything is a potential candidate for a reason!!! For starters it seems like its rained every weekend for the past month or so here in NYC! I'm starting to feel like I live in the UK or something! Ugh...I hate the rain and all the humidity. Not only because it totally makes you feel lazy but also because I cant ever do my hair how I want to. Rain and sleek hair don't mix! Another thing is that it seems like lately I'm always trying to find more hours in the day! I've been sooo busy and haven't had time for anything and it sucks! I don't even know where my day goes. Not to mention that the busy schedule and constant run-around is leaving
