Drawn In To New Fashion....Aint We All?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
When you hear the word fashion what does it mean to you? Are you the type of person that doesn't really care? Or are you the type that thinks fashion is everything? Allow me to get straight to the point, we all cant afford Jimmy Choos or the latest D&G, although some of like to think or picture ourselves in as the next entrepreneur or maybe one day walking in the shoes of P Diddy, its just not happening right now. Fact is most of us don't really care about that side of fashion, unless you're a David Beckham or the Beyonce type. Would you really want them to be trend setters and you the follower? How about flipping the switch for once and becoming a leader in trend setting? Fashion says a lot about us, whether your from North London or Birmingham. Fashion tells an outsider who you are, and where you come from you, for example, we can all tell the difference between an American and Londoner. Whether you like it or not, you are fashion. Why would you need top designers determi

Real Lives: Anorexia
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Claire is one of my best friends but she suffers from anorexia. It all started when she became obsessed with her body. She kept telling everyone that she was fat. At first I didn't say anything, I thought it was just a phase she was going through, I kept on listening to her going on and on, but then I just had enough.I told her so many time's "you're not fat, your ok the way you are" but Claire would just look at me as if I had said the most ridiculous thing she has ever heard. She laughed it off and began talking about how much she has been eating lately when we all knew that she haven't eaten a thing.Claire's bedroom became some sort of temple to the size zero models. She had pictures of them everywhere. This began to worry me and to be honest I was scared; I couldn't understand what was happening to my best friend. It was like she was dying to look like those supermodels. Her parent's divorced recently, maybe that had something to do with her feeling desperate to be

'Want Respect' And 'Jump Off TV' Safe Sex Campaign
2007-03-05 14:26:00
‘Want Respect’ is a national communications campaign aimed at sexually active/experimental 15-18 year olds and aims to persuade them to use a condom by showing them how it will affect what they care about most – their reputation. Using a combination of street art, music and film, the campaign aims to reach those most ‘at-risk’ and talk to young people in their own language and on their level about the importance of always using a condom. While we live in a generation where teen pregnancies are a problem, 'Want respect and 'Jump Off TV' do not want to force feed young people the same old facts and consequences about not using a condom, but instead they want to reinforce the fact that unsafe sex can have its problems and can be putting their lives at risk. Waking up and remembering that you have had unsafe sex can be a nerve-racking and frighting situation to be in, so they are on a mission to stop these situations from happening.Jump Off’s most prolific lyricists, Respek B

6 Steps To Getting That Spring Date!
2007-03-21 15:09:00
Despite what the weather has to say, we are now within spring, and everybody knows it’s the time of year for three things... clean the dust bunnies from under the bed, a whole new wardrobe, and the time of year where love seems to blossom like the wondrous daffodils in your local park. (Oh, I forgot to mention the time of year for pollen, but nobody wants to think of a snotty nose.)The spring time love is usually romantic. You usually picture fields of flowers, with you and your partner running through them, in slow motion, kinda like the opening scene from Shrek 2. But before you can get to picture these things, you have to find the right partner first, and not every man is blessed with the girl who stuck around after Valentine’s Day (you guys know who you are). Well, The Scene Magazine has decided to give its extensive knowledge and advice to getting that spring date.1. Stay So Fresh, So Clean:Yes, believe it or not, some guys forget the season is changing, and things are warm
