TGIF 2007-02-23 23:31:46 I’m so happy Friday is finally here. No homework, no rushing around to get the kids in bed early, no getting up at the ass crack of dawn to nag nag nag on the kids to button your shirt, put on that sock, hurry up and eat your breakfast, blah di blah di blah……It’s gets sooo old! Trying to get 4 kids up, dressed, fed, and off to school ain’t no walk in the park. I don’t care how organized you think you are. So yeah, I’m happy to have a little break from that.
Ok, so I haven’t posted my latest AI thoughts. I loved the top 12 girls. They blew the guys away. Definitely think it’s a girl’s year to win. Not loving Gina’s little attitude though. A bit cocky for my blood. I think I’m going to pull for Sabrina. Sister can sang for sure. As for the eliminations I was sad to see Rudy go. Wasn’t expecting that one. I really wanted to hear more from him. As for the other 3…toodles! Back to oblivion yo
American Idol: Top 12 guys 2007-02-21 19:26:14 I have to say that I was very disappointed in last night’s show. Nobody stood out. Nobody wowed me. Nobody had that “IT” factor, ya know? Blake was pretty good but I didn’t care for his song. Phil’s voice is great but his HEAD and EARS are a major distraction for me. I keep remembering last year this time when Ace came on and sang Father Figure and was just so freaking awesome I about lost my damn mind. Nobody did that.
The girls better bring it or this year is doing to be a snoozer.

Finally caved 2007-02-19 14:59:28 Last night was a monumental night in our household. I allowed something to happen that I’ve been avoiding like the plague. After months of begging I finally allowed my 8 year old daughter to have a friend sleepover. It’s not that I don’t like her little friends it’s just that I’ve got 4 damn kids and every night is a freakin sleepover around here ya know? Anyway, so I finally said yes and it went ok. The Hubs basically just hid from them all night. He really didn’t want any part of it. He took Jacob to see A Night At The Museum and when they got back at 11:45 everyone was asleep. He was so happy about that. But I was like, Honey, you have 3 little girls. This is what girls do. Deal with it. His attitude is also one of the reasons I’ve been avoiding it. But it’s not fair when she gets invited to spend the night all the time and we never have any one over. So he sucked it up and stopped being a self centered ass for one night. Read more:Finally

American Idol: Hollywood Rounds 2007-02-14 13:36:39 First of all, I did not like it that the Hollywood
rounds consisted of only one episode. Second of all, I am not really gung ho over anyone yet. I really liked Sundance’s original audition but last night he sounded awful. That was a disappointment. There are only a couple of girls I’m pulling for right now. One is the 2nd half of the “Best Friends”, Antonella. I was so glad her little diva friend was cut and not her. She seems to really have her head on straight. I am also liking Gina Glockson (the rocker chick). She made it to Hollywood last year but messed up her song and her room was cut. As for the other guys I really like Brandon Rogers but they didn’t show him singing last night. Chris Sligh is another one I’m pulling for (chubby funny guy with the fro).
I read AI spoilers and I already know who the top 24 is. A lot of them we haven’t even seen yet.

Wild hairs are fun! 2007-02-10 17:20:58 I got one today and went and bought a pair of chunky knitting needles. I am going to attempt to re-teach myself to knit again. I have a stash of cheapo yarn from my 3 month knitting stint 3 years ago.
Today I am also going to attempt to start decluttering this nasty house. It’s a small house and we outgrew is a long long time ago. The kids bring home so much crap from school it’s unreal so there are stacks of papers everywhere. I have no where to put anything. I need shelving and organizing containers but with a limited budget that makes it hard. Laundry is also huge problem here. The main problem being that I absolutely loathe folding clean laundry and putting it away. Not a pretty sight.
I also went around and took some pictures of my messes to show Friglet what a real messy house looks like. She posted pics of her mess and all I could do was giggle. Sista ain’t seen nothin’! I shall be posting those sometime later today. You all will feel so muc Read more:hairs

If you notice that it looks different everytime you come here that’s because I’m obsessively trying to find the pefect base them to work with. I have found a few that I absolutely love but do not have sidebar widgets. I am spoiled by the widgets, people! I just can’t be bothered by changing the sidebar everytime.

The Sick House 2007-02-06 15:41:01 The vomit virus has been making it’s way through my household over the past week. Last week Maddie had it and missed 2 days of school (Thursday and Friday) but was able to go to a birthday party on Saturday and spent the night with a friend. Monday morning Jacob started up with it and he is home again today just to make sure he’s in the clear. Oh and yesterday afternoon Maddie called me that she had bad diarrhea ( I can never spell that word!!!) and I had to go check her out. While I was there I went ahead and grabbed Abby and Caroline so I wouldn’t have to go back up there 2 hours later. Turns out that this virus is really running rampant through the school. One 3rd grade class had 9 people absent in one day last week! Now I just sit and wait for the rest of the family to get it. I hate this crap.

American Idol babble 2007-02-01 13:07:57 I am so ready for the auditions to be over! I can’t believe we have another week of auditions until we get to the Hollywood rounds. Next Tuesday night is San Antonio and Wednesday is the Best of the Rest episode. Ugh. It’s time to get this show on the road, people.
As for this weeks auditions I haven’t seen anybody memorable yet. I liked Brandon the backup singer and that’s about it. I think Paula liked him too. She was giving him the googly eyes. Oh at the chubby kid with the fro was good too. I think he auditioned in Birmingham.
And I could kick myself but I’ve been reading the spoilers for top 24 over at Idolforums. Why do I do this?

Grease! 2007-01-29 13:00:38 I absolutely cannot stand Austin. He is so bizarre looking to me. And WTF with those wretched high notes he was trying to hit.
Love love love Derek!!!! He was the best. I’m sorta torn between him and Max. Max cracked me up…”I’ve had like 14 jobs in like 2 years. Everybody fires me.” But I’ve liked Max since day one. Last night was the first night I really got to see Derek perform and I about fell out of my chair. He’s awsome. I also really like Kevin. Nice voice.
With the girls I’m kinda meh. They all sound alike to me.

A cable line was down in my neighborhood and we were with out all of our Comcast digital services for 8 days. That would be no phone, no internet and none of our digital cable channels. Oh sure we had regular cable channels 2-75 but you would think we were living in the dark ages with all the moaning and whining I had to put up with around this house. Anyway everything came back on yesterday.
Heroes came back last night and I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet. And then of course American Idol auditions continue tonight. So far I haven’t seen anyone all that good. The only person I like so far is the Army girl whose hubby is in Iraq. I really liked her personality. I’m not too happy with the way they’ve been showing these mentally challenged people. It’s not funny to me at all. And did you see the girl who said she was an Ace fan and had him draw her a tatoo? No comment.

I recorded this from last Sunday but finally got around to watching it today. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait until the next episode. Grease is one of my all time favorite movies. This is going to be such a fun show to follow.

I’ve recently become crazy over all these Web 2.0 sites. (see link in post below) I’ve signed up for about 50 of them but never even use them. I just think they’re so cool. There is literally something for everyone. It’s funny how much the internet has changed over the past several years. I remember being so proud of my little “country-themed” Geocities site back in ‘99. My favorite font was Comic Sans MS. *snickers*
I am going to try to tweak this theme a little. I like it but would like to change the colors. Maybe the design bug is biting me again.

American Idol Top 20 Guys 2007-02-28 13:35:03 Well the boys finally showed us why they were picked to be on American
Idol. Thanks goodness because after last week I was not excited about the show at all. Here’s a quick rundown of my thoughts and opinions in no particular order.
Phil- I thought Phil did a great job. I wish he hadn’t gone first though. I forgot all about him by the end of the show. But hey, somebody’s gotta go first.
Chris Sligh- OK first I just have to say this. I was shocked that his wife is such a hottie. There I said it. Call me shallow, call me whatever you want but I was absolutely SHOCKED. With that being said, I LOVED his performance.
Chris Richardson- OK his dedication to his cute little country Grandma won major points with me. I wasn’t too impressed with his song. His movements are weird to me but he will make top 12. I hope Grammy gets to come to Hollywood to see him perform!
Sundance- Thank God Sundace is back. Great performance.

American Idol Top 20 Girls 2007-03-01 19:39:51 OK so the girls were pretty good last night. Lakesha and Melinda clearly are in a league of their own. Sabrina was good but not as good as she was last week. Same thing for Stephanie and Jordin. Gina is not doing as well as I wanted her too. All the other girls sucked horribly.
I have to admit that Melinda’s dedication to her “Gayles” as she put it kind of put me off a little bit. Simon kept talking about how humble she is but I just do not see it at all. I think its fake. I’ll take Lakesha over her anyday.

and Kids. I do have some thoughts on this so I thought I’d post them.
My kids are still pretty young but my 8 year old really wants one. Her best friend has one of those little prepaid cell phones. She is an only child and is spoiled to the core so of course she has one. But anyway that’s another story. Back to kids and cell phones. This little girl spent the night with us and called her mom on it a couple of times (no biggie). Then another time we picked her up to go to church with us and she started calling her friends from the back of my van. I was like, huh?
I just think 8 years old is way too young. I can understand allowing a teenager to have one but I really do not see any sense in letting an elementary school aged child have a cell phone. When my kids become teens I’m sure I will get them one just so I can keep tabs on their butts. But 8 and 9 years old? Don’t think so.
