Online Reputation Management Tips For Businesses
2008-04-14 06:53:51
Let me start by describing ORM (Online Reputation Management ) According Wikipedia: “Online Reputation Management is a set of methods for generating a distinguished presence of a person on the Internet. That presence could be reflected in any kind of content that refers to the person, including news, participation in blogs and forums, personal web sites, social media presence, pictures, video, etc” Let’s suppose you just closed a deal on the phone with a customer and he is ready to place his for the most expensive package that you sell. Now Imagine, there is a negative review on your company by one of your unhappy client or your competitor has posted just to taint your company name, it is even worse if it is on first page of Search Engines by a search on your company name, Imagine yo

101 Link Building Tips to Market Your Website
2008-04-14 06:49:06
By Andy Hagans and Aaron Wall. Link Building ... Time-intensive. Frustrating. Sometimes confusing. Yet Unavoidable. Because ultimately, it's still the trump card for higher rankings. Many of us have been hoping that it would go away. In Brett Tabke's 5/18 Robots.txt entry, he echoed a sentiment that many, many webmasters hold on to as a hope: What happens to all those Wavers that think Getting Links = SEO when that majority of the Google algo is devalued in various ways? Wavers built their fortunes on "links=seo". When that goes away, the Wavers have zero to hold on to. The pertinent questions: Will link building still be very important for rankings in the medium term? When will link popularity be devalued in favor of other algo elements (that are less tedious, from a webmaster

15 Link Building Tips for New Websites
2008-04-14 06:38:06
New websites need links to develop any sort of search engine visibility. Links pointing to a new website can get it indexed and help it to start ranking for low to medium competition. These keywords will send visitors searching for information on a specific topic to your website and allows you gain a new reader or make some money from whatever affiliate program or ad scheme you are running. I’ve recently set up several websites for some friends and link building was my main concern because I needed links for the webpages to be indexed and start showing up in the search engine. I’ve previously written about the best way to traffic to your website and this article complements that by focusing on ways you can use to quickly acquire some links that will help your website. 15 Link Building

Have you Submitted Your Blog to Snap Yet?
2008-04-14 06:38:06
Just a short post to let everyone know that you can submit your website or blog to Snap, a search engine that allows you see preview images of search results on a separate viewing panel before you click on them to visit the website. I’ve recently discovered this nifty search engine and was a little amazed to find that Dosh Dosh wasn’t indexed and included in their search results at all. I’ve tried searches for the blog title and URL but nothing came up. I dugg around their website a little, found their site submission form somewhere in their FAQ and submitted Dosh Dosh. This was a few weeks ago and I’ve received around 8 visitors from Snap since. Not outstanding traffic but somewhat expected from a relatively new but fast growing search engine which saw around 12 million searches

How to Make Your Blog Rank Well in Google’s Blog Search Engine
2008-04-14 06:38:06
Google’s Blog Search is a blog search engine that indexes your blog posts by crawling XML feeds instead of the actual blog html page. The Blog Search includes all blogs which publishes a site feed: If your blog is not included in the Blog Search, you might want to ping them. I’ve gotten some traffic from Google’s blog search but I haven’t thought too much about it until I saw a link on Conversion Rater which sent me to an article about search result rankings. Apparently a new patent application from Google reveals the positive and negative factors which determine how Google Blog Search ranks search results. Bill Slawski at SEO By the Sea goes into greater detail on each factor in his excellent post. Google's blog search shows results in responses to searchers queries based

How to Find and Target Long Tail Keywords for More Search Engine Traffic
2008-04-14 06:38:06
The benefits of increasing search engine traffic to any website are many. For online retailers and affiliate marketers, this means a higher potential for greater product sales and referral commissions. For the average blogger, the increase in search engine traffic means a bigger audience and possibly more long term profit from the display of on-site or privately arranged advertisements. Understanding how to consistently send more search engine traffic to your website requires an appreciation of the Long Tail theory and subsequently the effective manipulation of traffic-directing long tail keywords. First coined in by Chris Anderson in a seminal 2004 article in Wired Magazine , the Long Tail is a socio-statistical theory which suggests that the collective sales of products in low demand can

How to Make Money Using Get Paid To Websites: Beginner’s Guide
2008-04-14 06:07:22
I’ve been writing about Get Paid to Websites ever since I’ve started Dosh Dosh, although I’ve stopped tracking the industry for some time, because I’ve developed a greater interest in internet marketing and the building of websites for profit. New Get Paid To websites are frequently set up by entrepreneurs interested in making some money. While the barrier of entry is low, the GPT industry is already saturated and heavy on competition. However, some of the early pioneers in the get paid to industry like Cashcrate and CashonTap are still around and their member base has grown considerably. Other less fortunate sites were not sustainable and shut down soon after their birth. I thought it’ll be helpful if I revisit the topic of Get Paid to Websites, which is actually a proven method

Reinventing the Get Paid-to-Search Business Model.
2008-04-14 05:53:04
Word is out that there’s a new Pay-to-Search website in town. SlashMySearch is a website which allows you to earn money by using their search engine to surf the net. There’s been a plethora of search engines that offer similar rewards to users. Some of them include the now defunct Kazook, Zotspot, Blingo and Winzy. I’ve been covering get paid-to-search websites for a few months and I think it’s about time to review pay-to-search websites as a means to make money online. SlashMySearch pays users based on time-based activity, which means that you’ll make approximately $0.25 cents an hour. They offer 3 levels of commission earnings and have a payout rate of $50. For more information on their program. I’ll primarily focus my review of Get Paid-to-Search websites on Zotspot

Hedge fund. Definition of a hedge fund.
2008-04-16 03:58:31
What is a hedge fund? A hedge fund does not exist as far as the Federal Securities and Exchange Commission is concerned. There is, in all actuality, no such thing as a hedge fund. But, hedge funds do exist, so the question is: how and what are they? In short, hedge funds a groups of stocks, bonds and securities that are managed by a portfolio manage for the intense purpose of returning profit and maintain investment, regardless of market conditions. This is why the Securities and Exchange Commission cannot recognize hedge funds. They guarantee a return and as every investor knows there is no such thing as a sure thing. And, in truth, hedge funds are not a sure thing. Interestingly, hedge funds are also not the boldest investment schemes available on the market. In fact they are the opposi

Money market funds. Information on investing in money market funds.
2008-04-16 03:58:31
Money market funds are only one of many of the very popular mutual funds that are available in the investment market. Money market funds are different than other mutual funds in a variety of ways: The money market fund's focus is only a short term investment, while other mutual funds rely on long term management. The average maturity of a money market fund is 60 days or less. The risk of money market funds is very low because they deal with government securities and companies that are highly liquid, which essentially means that their cash flow is constant. Mutual funds deal with a company's profit or growth over a period of time. Money market funds can be used almost like a checking account. People can withdraw their yields (from dividends and profits) on a regular basis because the accou

2008-04-16 03:58:31
When looking for a sound investment opportunity that is relatively "hands-off", think about trying index fund investing. What is index fund investing? In plain English, index funds are a collection of stocks that are put together and made to mimic a certain stock index (i.e. Standard and Poor 500). Index fund investing has many advantages over other forms of investments, which include not only rate of return percentage performance, but also tax benefits and time commitment considerations. The first advantage to index fund investing is that, overall, it outperforms the overall stock market. Index fund investing allows for great diversification within a portfolio, which historically is better for the bottom line. About.com states that Standard and Poor mutual funds outperform actively manag

Investing in international mutual funds is often an avenue overlooked. In fact, it is an investing option that is even touted as being unpatriotic. Many investors turn to international investing in mutual funds in order to diversify their holdings and to avoid being held financially hostage by a weaker economy back home. In fact, the recent trend in international investing in various mutual funds has been sparked by the growth of the world market and the advent of free trade. Because worldwide expansion has actually sparked the growth of foreign companies and all

2008-04-16 03:58:31
One of the most common fears of potential new investors is the loss of capital - the initial amount of money put into an investment. Current market trends prove that this fear is well based. But, the fear should not turn people who want to save money completely away. An income fund investment is a great compromise for those who are still a bit skittish with their money. An income fund focuses on providing a steady income for the investor, while not focusing on increasing the actual capital invested.. Sound confusing? After all, how can someone make money if capital doesn't grow? Because an income fund is typically a combination of high yield bonds and government securities, that way, most money that is originally invested is protected (bond face values are insured by the government). Good mutual fund companies. How to find a good mutual fund company.
2008-04-16 03:58:31
What are the aspects of good mutual fund companies? To understand this, the savvy investor must understand what a mutual fund is and how mutual fund companies operate. Mutual fund companies operate under the 'safety in numbers' theory. Rather than investing in a singular stock, emotionally and financially committing to the performance and return of that stock, mutual fund companies instead seek to diversify their investments in hopes of maintaining a more consistent , and often times smaller return. Mutual fund companies do this by spreading their investment monies across a wide range of stocks, bonds and securities. The hope of mutual fund companies is that the performers, or investments that excel, will mitigate, or ease the loss of the investments that fail to perform. So when an invest

One of the most exciting features about a convertible bond is the ability to convert it into shares of stock at a par rate. What does this mean, you ask me? Well I will tell you. What this means to you is that you may invest in a convertible bond, say a growing financial convert that you are not sure you want to throw in financially with yet. By investing with a convertible bond you can in effect, delay your decision to buy shares and still maintain an investing interest in the future of the company. What a great way to play the safe bet. This is one of the top reasons why savvy investors make the convertible bond play. It makes practical sense and allows for big financial gains later. That undoubtedly means that the financial concern is doing well, so the next smart step is to own some o

2008-04-16 03:58:31
Gold mutual funds are similar in definition to stock mutual funds in that they are a representative sample of gold shares that are put together in a portfolio with the purpose of echoing the overall market. Investors who purchase gold mutual funds hope that by buying shares in groups rather than individually, they will earn more money over the long run. In 2003, South African gold mutual fund expert Dr. Clive Roffey closely monitored the performance of various gold mutual funds as compared to their gold market counterparts. His findings support investor's hopes that gold mutual funds are a solid investment, especially in a bull market. Roffey's study of gold mutual funds can be further explored at Of the ten gold mutual funds he observed (which include Vanguard, Monterey, Oppenheimer and

Everyone claims to have the best mutual funds out there on the market. In fact, deciding what mutual funds to go with can be a daunting task to a new investor who has decided to take the plunge. However, determining where the best mutual funds really can be found is not very difficult. It just requires a little research. Mutual fund companies will often tout their annual returns as proof that their product is superior. Take it into consideration. Then move on. Choosing the best mutual funds means examining the expense ratio of any given investment. This is probably the single most important factor you'll want to take into consideration before you make a decision. Net Asset Values, wh

Bond rating. We answer the question, what is a bond rating?
2008-04-16 03:44:24
Why even bother with bond rating? I mean the investment is either a dog or a bird. It either hunts or it does not. So why do people even allow themselves to be influenced, or to make their investing choices, due to bond rating. Well first off whether you are going to invest or not has nothing to do with bond rating. A low bond rating might mean a whole lot of things. A bond rating might indicate a good performer, or an undervalued diamond in the rough. It might mean disaster and it might mean perils before swine. But what ever that bond rating means, it means this and this is what is most important to you; a bond rating indicates the value as perceived by the investing community. Now, how does bond rating affect you? In times of both economic peril and abundance, we are always looking fo

Bond investing in today's market does not have to be the safe sane alternative it used to be. Bond investing today does not need to be relegated to the amateurs and safe haven seekers of the world. Bond investing is about being invested in the community as a whole. If that does not drive your forward, then maybe you should consider another aspect to bond investing. Maybe you should consider bond investing is one of the safer investment choices in today's topsy-turvy make

Bond Market Collapse Worries Vermont Student-Loan Agency
2008-04-16 03:33:27
By Brain Wallstin [03.12.08] - 1992 reads Normally, this is a slow time of year for the Winooski-based Vermont Student Assistance Corp., which loans hundreds of millions of dollars annually to parents and students looking to finance higher education. But the latest crisis on Wall Street has the state’s largest student lender scrambling to secure $190 million to meet the demand for loans it expects to make this fall. The apparent collapse last month of the auction-rate securities market, which VSAC relies on to finance its lending, poses no threat to students who have already borrowed, said Scott Giles, the agency’s vice president of policy, planning and research. However, it has threatened the short-term financial viability of VSAC, which currently lacks nearly hal
