I love that we have a contestant with more of a hiphop edge. He's original and I always expect a good performance from him. I was surprised Randy and Paula had not heard the song... I'm quite sure I have. That was odd.Sanjaya Malakar (with straight hair and a hula fetish)Agreed with Simon that there was improvement over the past week. Vocally, I thought his voice had a great tone and warmness, but his song choices are "safe" to me. Then again, I see him as a ballad singer, so singing something different might not fit him. This week's piece allowed him to show more of his range and strength, but was still "a-ight". I think he has so much potential, if he can just find the right song for him to show off his talent. However, she sounded out of breath and unable to support some of her notes on the chorus while she was moving (gyrating?) around the stage and floor. (I still don't like her choice in outfits - looked like Gap linen shorts and a gold lame halter that was double-stick-taped to her back.)Chris RichardsonI like Chris' versatility. He showed a more vulnerable side to his performing. I don't typically like slower songs, but I appreciated seeing "the softer side" of Chris. I agreed with the judges that he showed a lot control and was less pitchy with this style of arrangement. I hope he tries one performance without his nasal tone. with Mr. TVJunkie (my husband). I haven't kept up with the series, but this episode rocked!I was digging the music (that the characters kept hearing mysteriously throughout the episode). At the very end, Bono started singing. OMG - U2!!!! That in itself is a good enough reason to watch the series again. I need to get that song on iTunes. Idol #9 - Gina Glocksen 2007-04-05 06:57:00 I never cry during the Idol results show, but I got teary-eyed when they called Gina's name.Since her initial audition this season, I have been pulling for her. I wouldn't go as far as calling her the underdog, she's better than that, but she has been a second-runner in the phone lines behind the stronger voices like Melinda and Lakisha.Gina's tears and stifled sobs upon receiving the final result pulled at my heartstrings because I could only imagine how much this journey has meant to her. To be able to return from "Idol rejection" and audition again gives a taste of how determined she was to make it to the final rounds. I realize that all the contestants want to win, but Gina seemed genuinely appreciative of the entire journey.After next year's AI concert tour, she'll be a stronger singer. What is with this week's Idol??In addition to the results, the hour-long results show also included a 'doctored' clip of Tony Bennett auditioning for Idol (cute), on the street interviews with Ryan Seacrest, a Latin-flavored performance from the lovely J-Lo (they even brought out the fog for her), and updates and plugs for the charity publicity stunt "Idol Gives Back."With 35 million votes tallied (the highest count this season), Ryan revealed the bottom three:Bottom 3:Phil StaceyHaley ScarnatoChris Richardson (sent back to the couch!)The results did not come across as a surprise, even to the contestants. SG-1, Episode 11x1, The Final Season It’s a very exciting and sad time for the SG-1 series. It is the eleventh and final season of what I believe is one of the best sci-fi shows ever on TV.From the season premiere, the final season is off to a great start and appears to be going out with a bang!The SG-1 team finally finds what they are looking for from a dormant Merlin who was frozen by Morgan le Fey 1,000 years earlier. As Merlin lies dying, Daniel Jackson obtains some (yet to see how much) of Merlin’s knowledge and powers bestowed by Merlin himself.Meanwhile, the team is still being chased by Adria and the Ori. In this episode, Adria and the Ori catch up to SG-1, but Daniel Jackson saves them using his new powers from Merlin. Daniel Jackson, because of saving his team, is captured by Adria and the Ori.
