I had a moment silently shocked this morning, after learning a news from Cambodia that my most favorite female singer, Pov Panhapich, was shot several bullets at close range, and is now in very critical condition.
The history repeats again -- from Piset Pilika, to Touch Sreynich,.. then comes to Pov Panha Pich. All of them are very well-behaved and well-educated to me. How they dare use gun to shoot these people down??!!

Well, first off by going to Yahoo.com, then try to find this image (Note: if your screen resolutions are 800*600, you might not find the image, since Yahoo! auto-sets another page to fit screen type).
This comes to a question on how and why Yahoo! uses one image file (as small icons) to represent various appearances. To my understanding, this method is aimed at facilitating image management when need to edit with PhotoShop.

Yesterday, it was Valentine, and now it's Lunar New Year. So, the new version underwent two major events -- Isn't that COOL??

In my PC, there's no Internet Explorer 6(IE6). IE7 render my codes fairy good.
However! Today I messed around with IE6 in my roommate's PC, and realized that it translates my codes pretty bad -- and this would have annoyed my visitors for quite long.
Well, seems like IE always troubles me, though my pages are mostly valid with web standards.
I just, however, debugged the problem. It's just with IE6 -- how about with older IE?? Hehe... it's like cat-and-dog game to kill the bugs with an internet browser which seemingly always ignores the standard thing. Really annoying.
Hmm,.. alright, let browse happy with Mekhala (or Firefox)!

I finally gave in, and converted my website to no-www Class B. Have you always wondered why some times allow you to visit "http://domain.com" and "http://www.domain.com" but some redirect "http://domain.com" to "http://www.domain.com"? Some times REQUIRE you to type "www" So if some sites can not require the "www" prefix, why don't they all just drop it? That's the idea behind http://no-www.org.

Krama, not for only Khmer but for all

Of course, it's indigenous to Cambodia and is most used by rural Khmer
people (less in the city). However, the photos below prove that some foreign folks are also fond of the kind of scarf.

My virtual Vietnamese friend, Trau, from Singapore, bought Krama from Cambodia during his internship to rural Cambodia. He bought for himself and for his friends.
He told me that his friends could realize right away where the scarf was made in at the first glance.

A candle was mixed to the pic(apologies to the owner, I forgot where I took it from) and named the post as Candle in the wind which was inspired by a song performed by Elton John, dedicating the princess Diana's death.
What a pride to see this photo has been re-used by some big brothers at KI-media, VietnamNet.vn, and Ngosao.net.
Registrar transfered

GKG at where Beth first registered iCAMBO for me doesn't accept my Vietnam-made credit card. This is a barrier to re-new the domain, someday.
And yesterday, I played a risky game by transferring to another (bigger) registrar, GoDaddy. Unlike my expectation, transferring process between the two giant registrar companies ran smoothly -- and only one evening, my domain has been successfully returned to GoDaddy's care.

To have better memory

My friend always blames me of missing what I borrow him, but rarely doing what he owes me :p. Sometimes, I'm sure that he's the one who owes me something. He, however, refuses by saying that's me who owes him. Nothing to reject, cuz I have such bad memory. And at the end, I'm to pay him :(
Something happening yesterday is like doing last year -- I cannot, sometimes, dig what I've done yesterday or even hours ago up. To deal with this, I've just brought a new book, called "to have better
memory", to my bookshelf. Hopefully, some thing's gonna be better. Wish me luck :0)
Bypass the Vietnamese shield to RFA

For long, the Radio Free Asia(RFA)'s website has been banned in Vietnam. As the result, every pages in various versions in Khmer, Vietnamese
,.. are not accessible. I've reported the negative thing to its US-based office.
Luckily, there're solutions to come -- we can view any pages, regardlessly they're banned through mirror sites. https://kankan.myftp.biz/dmirror/http/www.rfa.org/khmer, which www.rfa.org/khmer is a banned website to open.
However, this technique seems not familar with common internet surfers.

Darith is a newcomer to Vietnam. I'm glad in guiding around and helping him out with some problem. Darith is from Sa'ang of Kandal province. He's now doing his Vietnamese language course at Son Tay for about 7 months before going straight to the university. Darith is not only my ITC-mate, but also going to be my HUCE(Hanoi University of Civil Engineering) one :)

Online software sharing is illegal sometime. But most people from under-developing countries cannot afford for hundred dollars licensed softwares.
my.icambo.com is directly hosted on my own server, so it has the capacity as my machine does (60GB of space).

First ever strange mango I stumbled over called "jack mango" (ស្វាយខ្នុរ). It has a combined property of jack from its smell and mango from its form and flavor. It tastes good :)
And after a few gobbles... its core or crop.

An amazing night

Yesterday (or just a few hours ago), I with my friends joint Ms. Tuyet's birthday. Four of us bought her a hair clipper and a bunch of flowers.
As a pay-back, a pot of Suki soup are already placed on the table to welcome us. It's not an easy meal, cuz we had to empty 3 bottles of Vodka :)
Afterward, we went to Toilet, a night club where mostly westerners and oversea Vietnamese flocks to. Then, one amazing thing happened! I met a group of Vietnamese Americans who could recognize the owner of iCAMBO at the first meeting.
You are from iCAMBO, right? - A fatty girl asked me. Yes! - I surprisingly answered. Hey, how you get to know this!!?? Unfortunately, the noise blocked my ears off to her answer.read more

One again, I had to renew the look of my site :p
The previous theme looked pretty bad, as its right sidebar periodically fell down like crazy :(
Well, with this new theme, I welcome all screen resolutions, even though 800*600 is the minimum. This technique is called liquid design. I've also minimized to less amount of graphics as possible in a bid to improve the speed of page load.

New face launched from an error

Today, my site accidentally stumbled over an error
as I was updating something. And from this problem, I decided to make a new interface live (as a revenge :p), though it's not working properly.
What's playing main roles in the new face?
- The new template has smaller size, so I would help page load speed a little thing.
- Some (unnecessary??) blocks removed. Of course, in order to push more speed too.
- Some little adaption of a CSS technique called mountaintop.

I remember one of my aunt's friends is Khay Praset, Piset Pilika's husband, from a wealthy family in my province. He owned a very cute Vespa.
Years in years out, Vespa continues updating both quality and appearance. In the crowded streets of Hanoi and Saigon, you may not neglect the elegant look of Vespa and its owner :)

Phu Quoc island.The weather
forecast program on VTV is daily screened right following the International News during the golden hours(18h-20h). The program covers weather predictions across the Vietnamese territory--and of course, Phu Quoc, a coastal island, also known to Cambodian as Koh Tral, is included.
If you(Cambodian) are in Vietnam(of course, if in Cambodia, the Viet would get his/her ass kicked) and sitting next to a Vietnamese while watch
ing the program, you would ocationally overhear(unintentionally or intentionally) these phrases: "Ah,.. the island belongs to us?", "Hey, our island is closer to Cambodia", "Is it our island?",.. Yes, this could be a mockery. And if you come by this, you'd better stay calm (or react gently), or there would be a clash :(
