Thursday Feb. 15, 2007 - 4:30 pm on South Delphine near the I-64 exit south bound lanes, a Saturn driven by Thomas Garber hit a Dodge pickup truck. Mr. Garber failed to yield coming off the exit ramp hitting the truck. It caused the car to go into the median and the truck to go off onto the shoulder of the road. Mr. Garber is being charged with failing to yield. One person was sent to Augusta Medical Center for treatment of miner injuries.Photo/Story Nathan Combs

Saturday Feb.10, 2007- 6 am A fire that was put out the night before restarted on 1104 Estaline Valley Road. There where 19 firefighters on the seen this morning and stayed till 4pm making shore the fire was out. The ice and the cold temps did not hinder the work the firefighters. There are investigators still there looking in to the cause of the restart at this time 7pm. The original fire had started the night before caused by a wood stove at 6pm. On Friday Feb. 9, 2007 40 firefighters had put out the original fire in about 3 hr. Thousands of Augusta Co. residents were without power on Wednesday because of fallen trees on powerlines. Work crews had to work through the night to try and restore power. The Dodge Durango passed through a guard rail sending it over an embankment. Due to the accident traffic in front of Jollett Springs Trailer Park was congested. Emergency personnel and police directed traffic on 340 in order to keep traffic flowing. Update: The driver that was killed, 31-year-old Christy Harbeck was not wearing a seat belt when she was ejected for the SUV that landed in a ravine. .The cause of the fire is as of yet unknown. Two people on the scene were being treated for injuries. When fire crews were first called to the scene they had word that there might be someone still in the trailer, but as of this time they are unsure. Update: There where three people in the trailer at the time of the fire. Two of the people made it out with unknown injuries while the third was killed. Chapel Road, swerved to miss a deer flipped and ejected two passengers. When emergency crews arrived at the scene they found to people lying on the road that had been ejected, they were taken to Augusta medical Center with serious injuries. Main St. Waynesboro, Ann Golladay 87 was struck, while leaving the store by a car driven by Elesie Hansen 83. Golladay was sent to Augusta Medical Center with unknown injuries. Couple Suspected Of Cruelty And Injury To a Child - Feb. 27 1970-01-01 00:59:59 Tuesday Feb. 27, 2007 - Steven Tomlin, 35, and Heather Tomlin, 27, of 58 Old Hermitage Rd. have been charged with two counts each of cruelty and injury to a child. The couple is suspected of reversing the door locks and nailing shut the bedroom windows of there two daughters, that are15 and 16 years old. The 15-year-old told police that she'd been held in her room for months, and was only allowed out for school. Steven Tomlin and Heather Tomlin were released Saturday on a $5,000 bond. Sheriff Department held a press conference to give out information on the Father and stepmother that are suspected of Child abuse. Steven Tomlin, and Heather Tomlin had alegtliey locked there two daughters, that are 15 and 16 years old in there rooms. The rooms had little more then box springs and camping toilets. Augusta Co. Sheriff's office said the Tomlins' two daughters were kept in the rooms as punishment. The two girls where a lowed to leave the locked rooms to go to school and when not being punished where allowed to go see friends. The 15-year-old sad she'd been held in her room for 100 days. 1, 2007 Donald E. Campbell, 73, of 25 Sidney
Lane, Mt. Sidney, was found guilty on four counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of forcible sodomy. His four victims ranged in age from 5 to 12 years old. Campbell had hired the children to do odd jobs like mowing his lawn and cleaning his taller. When they interd his trailer he would molest them. Campbell was also regular baby-sitter from June 2005 to May 2006 for two of the children that are brother and sister. Campbell had been found out after one of the victims told her mother about the molestation. The mother then called police and the Virginia State Police investigated. Trooper Melody Parsons, headed up the investigation. Campbell was arrested on Sept. 9. The conviction could put Campbell in prison for life. Story Nathan Combs Read more:Children
