Communicate with your Teen/Pre-teen 2008-04-02 12:23:17 The most important piece of advice you will get from this site... KIDS NEED PARENTS, NOT FRIENDS.
How do you be a good parent, but also build a relationship full of mutual respect, love, and a level friendship? You TALK with your teen/pre-teen!! Notice, I did not say talk AT them - talk WITH your them. What's the difference? From their prospective - preaching at them versus having a conversation with them. Preaching gets no results, while studies show they actually listen to information presented in conversation form.
Communication is vital! It connects us to each other, it creates relationships. A good relationship comes from good communication, while poor communication inhibits relationships. Keep in mind that even poor communciation is better than NO communication! No communication Read more:Communicate
