Acupressure Point for HIV/AIDS
2007-09-01 19:04:00
At the beginning of the epidemic, little or no treatment was available for people with HIV/AIDS . Although as yet there is no cure, over the last decade researchers have identified a number of drugs that slow progression of the virus as well as therapies to treat the many opportunistic infections that attack people with HIV disease. The key to effective treatment is early detection and intervention. Some early treatments aim to strengthen the immune system, help patients reduce stress, and maintain good nutritional practices and appropriate exercise regimens. Many of the alternative therapies described below place significant emphasis on these lifestyle issues. Taking an active role in any disease is an important adjunct to treatment. Consideration of alternative therapies in conjunction with conventional medicine may offer additional opportunities for persons living with HIV/AIDS to be proactively involved in their treatment. There are so many researches going to find out the acupressur

Acupressure For Baby
2007-08-30 11:28:00
Acupressure For Baby Begin by placing a towel on the flat surface where the baby will be positioned for the massage. Protect the surface (such as carpeting or other) from spilled oil, lotion or cream by always placing the bottle on the towel. Make sure the container is out of reach of the child's hands, which are very busy and are moving all the time. Start the music, play with the toys for a while, and begin by following the instructions for baby massage. A baby massage usually takes 20 to 35 minutes, and is best given any time, but especially in the following cases: Before nap time; When baby has digestive pain; After baby's bath; Before Mom has important quiet time for herself. Please note that many more acupressure points exist in this therapeutic Chinese technique. However, only the most commonly used, and the safest, points for babies are included here.Fig. 2. Macrobiotics
2007-09-25 14:25:00
At first glance, Macrobiotics appears to be a new wholistic health system. However, the word macrobiotics was used many centuries ago to describe people who were healthy and lived a long time. "Macro" means "great" or "large" and "bios" means "life." Macrobiotics is the art of living a long and happy life according to the principles of nature. The essence of macrobiotics has existed for thousands of years. More recently, around the turn of the century, these natural principles were revitalized and reintroduced by George Ohsawa. Mr. Ohsawa taught the principles of the Order of the Universe extensively in Japan, India, Africa, Europe, and the United States. His wife Mrs. Lima Ohsawa continues to teach in Tokyo. Many of his students including Shizuko Yamamoto present this ancient information to modern people. Borrowing its ancient name, this traditional information is again called Macrobiotics. The macrobiotic approach to shiatsu is based on the timeless principles of change. This approach

The body has its own healing process which involves the blood, nerves, tissues, and immune function. Only remedies that assist our body and direct nature in her efforts to allow us to heal ourselves and strenghten our defense mechanism can be called natural or true remedies. The use of diet, including proper cooking, plus shiatsu, exercise, breathing practices, and sunshine are not usually thought of as medical treatments by the modem medical system. However, these can all be successfully used in the treatment of illness and more importantly, in the prevention of illness. For those of us who want to take responsibility for our own health, this book, containing natural remedies, can help. Most of the special materials that we use are found in the natural foods kitchen.Macrobiotics itself is not a static, unchanging thing; it is a way of life that includes all the principles of vibrant health. These principles offer a unifying way to look at nature, a way to see the universe as a who

their lives accordingly; that is, they must be prepared to adapt and change. These two forces are always opposite and antagonistic, and yet, at the same time, they are complementary, for they are always combining and cooperating. These two tendencies, constantly interacting, were understood in ancient China to create balance. This happens both inside the body and outside in the world. Simply stated, any illness is an imbalance of Yin and Yang. With the predominance of one tendency giving way to the dominance of its opposite, and vice versa, everything therefore is constantly changing. Although always changing, each thing still contains both yin and yang. This fact creates a wholeness that is constantly evolving. Bound together, yin and yang unify. Yang is the inward movement that creates contraction. Yin is the outward movement that creates expansion. The following chart will give you an idea of Yin and Yang qualities. The development of clear intuition is an aim of macrobiotics. Tr
