Straw-headed bulbul
2008-04-19 05:39:00
Straw-headed bulbul, probably building a new nest. One story to share: every time I took photos in the Hong Kong Park's Aviary, I would check my photos against the Aviary's birds collection list to find out what I had captured; after that I would go to Google to find more info. Except this one, the data on the list are accurate and correct so far.On the list, this bird is referred to as Yellow-crowned Bulbul. I googled with that name and found nothing. So I search with its scientific name - Pycnonotus zeylanicus. And I have it - the bird's common name is Straw-headed Bulbul. No wonder. Please show your support by voting for this blog at the Bloggers Choice Awards Photos and texts by kRiZ cPEc

Greater Racket-tailed Drongo

ABC Wednesday - X
2008-07-01 20:06:45
X for X-perspective. X is a tough alphabet. To get some ideas, I went through a book on photographic composition, and found a term that can be roughly translated as the X perspective, which means positioning the vanishing point at where two imaginary diagonal lines intersect - the centre of frame. The above photo happened to be an example for this. * * * For more info about the ABC Wednesday
