My New Toy
2008-03-26 19:34:00
Mikey came home last week with a reciept for a gift he surprised me with. The gift arrived today, and I have been PLAYING! I have been longing for this amazing lens. It is the Cannon 50mm 1.8. I didn't get the new lens till around 5 today, and it was starting to get a tad dark out side. This lens is perfect for low lighting. I didn't even need a flash! I couldn't wait to post some of the photos I shot today after getting this little lens!!!I was only able to get a couple of shots of George because he was busy playing with his friend (Nicolas), and the new toys Bubbie sent him that arrived TODAY!Michael was also another subject that was uncooperative. He managed to sit for a few more than George, but as soon as he could he darted down the street yelling "That's enough, right?".......I guess

Our Gabby Girl
2008-03-25 06:30:00
The other day I was able to get a few shots of Gabby doing tricks for CHEETOS! This girl of ours LOVES chips, and she will perform for the youngest of masters to get a nibble!First: we tell Gabby to: SITSecond: we say: LAY DOWNThird: we make a circle motion with our hands as we say: ROLL OVER Last: we praise her wildly and feed her: CHEETOS (or any other available food item that is handy)Last night Morgan decided it was time to take the initiative and start teaching her to SHAKE. I soon took over, and within 25 minutes she had it mastered. This morning I tried the new trick out again (to see if she really knew it) and she did it without hesitation! SO now we have the following tricks:1.Sit: very important for getting her to focus2.Stay: a must if you have fallen food on the floor3.Come: th

On The Hunt
2008-03-24 13:12:00
After the kids (and Mikey) dyed their eggs we headed out to a morning movie. The kids went and saw Dr.Seuss' Horton Hears A WHO, and Mikey and I checked out the movie 10,000 B.C. Mikey and I loved our movie, and the kids loved theirs as well. After enjoying our shows we went back home to enjoy some egg hunting.Morgan found 3 eggs because she was too busy helping T-boy find himself some. Morgan didn't really mind missing out on the HUNT. George did end up finding 6 eggs. He had such a great time. Michael found 7, and then he decided to tell his dad that he was hide them too easy. THIS meant round TWO was in effect. Morgan and Mikey decided to do a SUPER HARD hunt. One of the places they hid an egg was in this spot:Here Michael is walking right under it and is totally unaware it is just m

Let's Dye Some Eggs
2008-03-24 12:05:00
We got up early on Easter Sunday so we could enjoy some family time together. They first on our to do list was to get going on our Easter Egg Dying! We gave the kids 5 eggs each to decorate:I had boiled 18 eggs, and two had cracks in them...........Morgan and Michael called dibs on them for a snack! Morgan got busy doing some peel and eat em' first! She wasn't as hyped about coloring some eggs as the boys were.....George kept getting the eggs out of the dye with his HANDS....His hands looked rather blue by the end of our egg dying adventure.Michael made me a special egg. It said I love Mom on it! The egg was also dyed GREEN because that is my favorite color! My boy is sweeeeeet. He also made this really cute egg that he wrote this one: "I love Mom, Dad, Morgan, George and ME" George was wor

The older kids don't have school today. That usually means a house full of kids. FUN!Our anniversary went well. We spent most of the evening separated by SOCCER and KIDS. Earlier in the day though we went shopping!!!! I went to Ross and got some stuff for the kids. I have never really shopped there before, but the prices for their name brand stuff was OMGosh! I got some undergarments and a pair of shorts for Morgan. The bras were only 3.99 each (Maiden Form ones), the panties were only 1.99, and the shorts were LEI and only 6.99. Mikey says I got ripped off on the shorts because there isn't enough MATERIAL to be that much. They are the short shorts, but they are green and will look adorable over her bathing suite!!!!! Guys don't get it! If it were up to the Dad's, all our daughters would d

15 Years Today!
2008-03-20 08:18:00
First: Welcome to the FIRST DAY OF SPRING. Spring is my second favorite season (Fall being my 1st). I love to see all the colors of spring come to life, we get to enjoy warmer weather, and of course all the animals are TWITTER-PATTED. Spring is starting fresh and new. Maybe this is why I chose this day as mine and Mikey's wedding day. A day of starting a "new" life together, leaving the safety of our homes to make one of our own, and a day to begin a bright future as husband and wife. Whatever the reason for picking the 20th of March as our wedding day, I am so thankful we did. These past 15 years have been filled with happiness and sorrow, laughter and tears, pleasure and pain. No matter what we went through we did it together. I look forward to our future together. I look forward to the u

A New Look For Spring
2008-03-19 08:22:00
Morgan got a new hair style, and a new hair color a few days ago. As you can see it came out a tad too red. The hairdresser gave Boo some special shampoo to take out some of the reds, and now most of the red has faded. I am hoping to get some new pictures of her soon, but till then you can kinda get an idea of what she looks like with dark hair. I am still trying to get use to it, but I think she looks lovely! Here is Morgan reading a book she got over the weekend. She finished it in a day. She was finishing up the third book in a trilogy set I got her over the summer. She also has a new book from her Meme that she got for St. Patty's day. Before she can read that one she must read BOOK 1- The Uglies. Then she reads: The Pretties, then The Specials and last in this series is The Extras. Mor

He's Comin' Home
2008-03-13 05:46:00
I will be picking Mikey up at the airport at noon today. He called yesterday afternoon and told me him and my Mom were going out for dinner and a movie. I knew they would. They went and saw No Country for Old Men. Mom loved the land Mikey wants; which means we will be putting an offer in soon. I am excited about living back home. I know it is still a ways off, but this brings us one step closer!!!I want to send out a big THANK YOU to my mother and father in-laws. They gave Mikey a homecoming party, drove him around town, took him fishing, and I am sure my MIL cooked some FABULOUS dinners for her boy. My FIL took two day off from work just to help Mikey look for some land, and that was great because he knew what was good and what wasn't good. SO.........THANK YOU so much. We appreciate all

How Cute Are They?
2008-03-12 11:46:00
My Mom and Mikey have such a great relationship. Sometimes it is too good. Like when they gang up on me, and put me in my place. Most of the time I need it, and it doesn't bother me. I actually think it is endearing that they both care so much about me.I called Mikey this morning to see if my Mom had made it to pick him up yet. She had, and they were headed out to look at some of the land Mikey liked. Then they will be heading to my mom's house for the night. Tomorrow Bubbie (my mom) is taking Mikey to the airport, and then she will head into work. I asked Mikey what they had planned for the evening! I think a movie and dinner is in order, but who knows what those two will end up doing.I had the boys in bed with me again last night, and tonight Morgan will crawl in with me. These nights ha

It's Not Easy
2008-03-11 13:15:00
Learning to tie your shoes, a bow, a scarf, or your bathing suit string isn't as easy as it looks. I mean......think of all the twist and turns you must make with the string just so you can keep your stinking pants up.You have to go this way with one side, and around this one with this one.....Now you have made too many twists and turns, and your beginning to make a knot instead of a bow....Okay, one thing you don't want to do is get your hand caught inside your loops because....well, you need your hands!Sometimes you just have to say FORGET IT, and just go on about your buisness.....At other times though...........You NEED to tighten things up so you can keep your pants UP!Have a great day everyone, and make sure you secure your pants with either a quick tie of a string or a belt is even

Missing My Man
2008-03-10 11:34:00
I just got off the phone with Mikey. He is a little disappointed in some of the land he is looking at. He still has 2 more days of searching, and I am sure he will find something he likes.I sure do miss Mikey being home. I think Gabby is missing him too. The other night she slept by our bedroom door all night long. Usually she sleeps in bed with us, but I think she was confused about where her other bed buddy was. The kids have been snuggling up in our bed since Dad isn't home. George and Michael both slept with me last night, and Morgan is already calling dibs for tonight! I knew I wasn't going to get the big King size bed to myself, LOL!!Our weekend went great. Morgan had a sleepover on Friday, and Michael had a sleepover on Saturday. Michael also had company all day Sunday, and George w

Happy 12th Anniversary
2008-03-09 08:59:00
Kevin and Amanda are celebrating their anniversary today! I had a hard time figuring out how many years it has been; so I used the calculation technique I use on MY OWN anniversary. OKAY....Morgan is 14 right now.....so when my anniversary rolls around I add a year! ALL RIGHT......Hannah (KK & Manda's daughter) is 11 right now.............so we add a year! Now that was difficult to explain..........did you get it?I always get a kick out of this picture........It shows you just how crazy Kevin is, and how Amanda just takes it all in stride. Such a funny pair.KK and Manda,Hope you two get to enjoy your day. I know you both aren't able to be together today due to KK's work schedule, but maybe some phone time will do. Just make sure the kiddo's aren't listening in on the other line!!!!!!

George Christopher
2008-03-06 18:46:00
When we named our youngest runt I was nervous about it, but not now. If anyone can handle the name George it is T-boy. He has this air about him that makes you fall in love with him. He has a sense of humor that grabs you and makes you laugh. He has a self confidence about him that makes you in awe. He fits his name to a tee, and I am thankful my mom and Mikey insisted we name our youngest runt GEORGE!The other day after his bath I spiked George's hair, and today he asked me to do it again!!!! I LOVE IT. It shows all his craziness, and his fun lovin' side. George has been hanging out with his friend Nicholas (who lives 3 houses up from us) every night this week. They go to Nicholas house for a day or two, and then they stay here at ours for a day or two. They are wanting to have a sleep ov

Got Some New Digs
2008-03-06 09:58:00
Mikey and I went shopping the other day, and I picked Michael up some new outfits. I don't shop for Michael much because he could care less about clothes, but it was time to get some more in style stuff for his closet. I ended up getting 5 or 6 pairs of shorts and about the same amount of shirts to go with them. I also picked Morgan up a pair of shorts and two tops........I can't walk into a store and not pick her up something cute to wear!!!! It's a problem. I know. I need a 12 step program for it.......but I really have fun shopping for my girl!!!!! LOLI went outside what I thought was Michael's box, and I got him some plaid stuff. HE LOVES THEM!!!!! I have to say I am surprised that he picked out this outfit to wear first, and that he likes it enough to wear it to school! When he got hom

Our New NEPHEW
2008-03-04 16:21:00
This is Jason Christopher Hallman!!!!!! Baby Jason was born March 3rd to Jason and Jessica (my sis and brother in-laws). He was three weeks early, and is doing great. He weighed 5 pounds 1 ounce................I see these photos and I think......WOW he is TINY.....and then I remember Morgan weighed a POUND LESS than that at birth. Baby Jason looks like Jason to me, but you know how that can change as they get older.Mikey asked Jason if this was the last.....................NOPE. They are both thinking of more. I hope they give Baby J a brother (if they decide on another). I told my MIL I thought they would keep having more. I know if Mikey would have let me I would have!Jas & Jess,Glad all went well, and congrats. Enjoy those dirty diapers, late night feedings, and the smell of a new b

Slumber Party Success
2008-03-02 14:23:00
We did it! We survived the SLUMBER PARTY Morgan had last night! We had 9 girls show up out of the 14 invited! SWWWWWEEEEETTTT! The party was off and running about 4pm last night, and ended around 12pm today. We had PIZZA, CAKE, ICE CREAM, SODAS, DONUTS, MOVIES, GAMES, and GUITAR HEROIII! Lots of fun for everyone. Michael found a friends house to stay at, and George hung out with DAD most of the night. Here is the beautiful cake Morgan picked out for her party. I just think it is gorgeous, and I adore the colors. The bottom layer is Chocolate, and the top layer is Vanilla. Here is the girls getting ready to go on their SCAVENGER HUNT. I made a list of about 22 items for them to get! It came down to the wire who won! These glasses they are sporting were brought by Micaela and Sara, and what co

Getting Back To Normal
2008-02-29 09:15:00
It's been awhile since I have been on the computer. The FLU went through our house like a brushfire out of control. It all started with Michael, and ended with Morgan. I still can't believe how bad this flu was. At times I would think it was all over, and then BAM it would hit again!Morgan is having her birthday party this weekend. We are expecting about 14 girls to attend. I will be sure to take LOTS of pictures. Morgan has a list of movies she wants to rent. We will be doing a scavenger hunt in the neighborhood! I think it is going to be a blast for the girls.Michael and George are doing well!!!!!!!!!!! The boys keep me busy, but I love it.Sorry this is such a short post, but I have tons of housework to do! The laundry is once again a MOUND (thanks to MICHAEL) on my laundry room floor!!!

Introducing: CAPTAIN Hallman
2008-02-15 08:21:00
Mikey has been promoted as of Feb 1st to Capt. Hallman. We found out he made the Capt. list yesterday, but wasn't sure what date he would be promoted on. It's kinda strange how they do all of it, and frankley I just don't understand it all myself. Mikey, on the other hand, understands and is able to relay it to me in ENGLISH! Mikey's friend Eddy called him this morning to tell him congrats, and to let him know the dates came out regarding the promotion list. Eddy was also promoted to Captain as of Feb 1st! I got a picture of Mikey this mornign while he was on the phone with Eddy:(what's so funny Capi?)On to other stuff:Michael didn't have fever this morning; therefore he is off at school today! He is still coughing, but he was extremely happy to be heading to school. I'm sure it gets borin

Happy Valentines Day
2008-02-14 10:45:00
I got a Chocolate Rose and a homemade card this morning for Valentines Day from Morgan. The MMES girls are all wearing OLD NAVY Valentines Shirts today. They didn't get matching ones, but they all say something about love, sweet, boys.....One of the girls got a shirt that says BOYS STINK! I thought it was cute because this one is TOTALLY BOY CRAZY! Boo Boo also got her Daddy some Chocolate Pecan Clusters and a homemade card! She is a sweetie!Michael has been home TWO days in a row from school with a fever and a cough. I was jolted out of bed at 6 am by a screaming boy telling me,"Mom, I need cough medicine!". I wondered aimlessly in search of the medicine. I find the cough medicine, but when I touched Michael I felt he was warm. Time to find the thermometer, and found out what temp my Crit

Today Marks 14 Years With This Amazing Child Of Ours
2008-02-12 11:32:00
Today is a special day in our house. It is MORGAN's 14th birthday, and we are all excited. I got up at 6am to make her some chocolate chip muffins, Mikey and I got balloons, cards, cakes, and all that great stuff. Tonight is just a family get together because it is a school night, but I am sure Morgan's girlfriends will come over for a bit. Morgan's friends did decorate her locker at school yesterday afternoon. Morgan had NO IDEA they were doing it. She has a great group of buddies!!!! This weekend Morgan is having a BIG slumber party with about 9 other girls. FUN!!!!At 34 Weeks I was sent my ambulance to LSU to deliver our Boo Boo. I was in labor for 22 hours, and it all ended with an emergency c-section. All of a sudden we were now the proud parents of this little angel we called Morgan

She Waits
2008-02-08 08:38:00
Gabby is no longer sitting in a small confined kennel when we go places. We have a baby gate put up so she can only be in the living room and kitchen. This way she can get to her feeding bowls, run around, and she can watch for our speedy return.I love that she watches everything while being perched high on the back of the sofa, but the barking needs to come at a minimum!!! She now barks while we watch tv. If she hears a knock or a doorbell come from the tube she goes into her bark mode. The funniest thing is watching her get all excited about another dog on the tv. She sits and growls at the television, barks at the intruding animal, and then looks at us for approval! We just sit and laugh at her!!!! Hope she isn't getting a complex about herself......We have offically taught Gabby a NEW

Pictures From The Past
2008-02-06 07:52:00
I have been downloading some old pictures I have into my Flickr account. I am trying to get some stuff gathered for a project someone has got going. I really can't say much more than that because I don't know if these people read this blog or not! I just thought I would share some of these with you guys. Time FLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!This first photo is of me with my favorite teddy bear. "How do you know this bear was your favorite?", you ask. I STILL have this bear. HIS name is Brittany Bear, and George now sleeps with him. George says it is a girl bear though. I got Brittany Bear as a Christmas gift when I was 3 years old. HE/SHE is now 33. I'm not sure how old I am in this photos, but I know it was taken after I was 3!!Here is a photo of me with my Mom. I must of been about Michael's age (10)

It Didn't Happen
2008-02-05 09:09:00
that is, the photo shoot I had planned for the girls didn't happen. Ellen was sick, the girls are lazy, and George had company! Maybe I can get it done this weekend!!!!I was able to have a little camera fun with George, his friend and GABBY! There is a boy about George's age that lives 2 houses up from us. He came over on Saturday, and spent most of the day at our house with George. They played great together once the boy stopped laughing so much. It was rather funny watching them together. Here are just a couple of the pictures I took:Here is a picture of the boys playing on the back porch with George's toys. At this point George's new friend had been here for about 2 hours. Here they are, and see George went in to get a hat! It wasn't cold out, but he thought he looked COOL!!!! LOLGabby

Where Is Mr. Sandman?
2008-03-28 02:12:00
I don't know what in the world is going on with me, but for the past few nights I have been hit with INSOMNIA! I will go to bed sometime around 11pm and within an hour I am wide awake. Counting sheep hasn't helped. I am tempted to grab a bottle of rum to numb my mind. I truly believe this is an inheirted trait my mom has passed down to me. She gets insomnia from time to time. She has even gone as far as going to work at 4am. Well, I don't have a job to GO to. Mine is here, and everyone is enjoying the Sandman .....Everyone Except Me! It is now 3:15am and I still can't fall asleep. What really annoys me about these nightly epics, is the fact that I really can't do anything except SIT. I try to be quiet so as not wake the rest of the house. I guess this gives me time to explore my brain. Whic

YOn The Attack
2008-03-31 07:45:00
Gabby is so fierce. She growls, shows her teeth, and lets you know she is the boss:She gets worked up into a frenzy when the "boys" in the house mess with her. She loses all compsure, and shows her "b" side!:Then just when you think she is going to attack you, sink her teeth into your soft flesh, and cause extreme pain. She sticks out this wet velvety soft pink tongue, and does this:As much as she adores the "boys" she sees them as playmates. Michael wanted to have a picture taken with Gabby the other morning, but as you can see Gabby wanted to PLAY!She gives Michael some twists and a turns....... But in the end she was caught! Now it was time for a photo. Gabby decided to give her signature pose:I told her to give me a good pose and just maybe Michael would let her go. She liked that idea

YGeorge Scissorhands
2008-03-30 11:21:00
George has a fascination with our scissors. When he gets a hold of them he will find anything to cut. Just like the time when he gave himself a haircut! He had gotten a stern talkin' to after that incident, and it hasn't happened again. The other night my youngest child (age 5) got a hold of our scissors once again. He knew from before he wasn't allowed to cut his own hair; therefore he decided to pick a new victim. Here is our story!Friday night was filled with coloring books, cartoons, and games. It was just me, George and Gabby home for the evening (everyone else had plans). I had spent most of the evening running the older kids around, and playing with George. At about 11pm I told George I was going to watch some Law and Order so he needed to go find somethings to do (big mistake there)

YAn Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away
2008-04-03 08:32:00
On a daily basis you can find our youngest baby, George, half naked. I get him dressed in the morning, and by afternoon he is down to his under-roos. If you drive by our house you may see him out in the yard chasing the dog in his skivvies. You may also get to see a mother yelling out the door,"George Christopher get in here and put your clothes back on!". In which the undressed child would reply, "Okay Mom.". This seems to be a vicious cycle in our home. With all that being said, you can see how I was in shock today when I took George to get his school physical, and he almost cried when the doctor told him to undress! George kept looking at me with a confused smirk on his face while saying,"Mom, really?". He looked confused at what was being asked of him, and was looking completely uncomfo

YGetting Dolled Up For Bubbie
2008-04-02 12:40:00
Isn't she a sight! Gabby took a trip to the Salon for the first time today. We are making her beautiful for her Bubbie. My Mom, Bubbie, will be arriving on Saturday for a visit, and I wanted Gabby to look her very best.To say my Mom loves Cocker Spaniels is an understatement. While growing up we had a few beautiful Cockers ranging from blond to jet black. They were all beautiful, but non could compare to our beloved Winston! Just look at him. He was an amazing specimen of a Black Cocker Spaniel. Everytime Mom would take Winston anywhere people would stop and tell her how gorgeous he was. Of course Mom had to tell them not to get too close because he BITES! That was Winston's only fault. I know it was a big one, but we adored this black ball of fur!Gabby's skirt, the hair that should go fro
