Thanks so much for picking this photo. I must say I love the tongue one, but the above is just beautiful! I love the way both of them are looking at the camera. I appreciate all your help in this decision making process. My Mom had come up with an ide to have large prints made of some of these photos: then hang them in Micheal's room. Here in a few days I will narrow down some of my favorites, and you can help me out again! I took a lot from that day; therefor there are many to choose from. I am thinking of using about 4 different photos. I love all the help........You are all just too kind! Thanks, brittany dian

YFor The Love Of Books!

Let me just vent a bit. I don't like AR Programs. AR Programs are reading programs set up by schools. Kids are reading books, and then taking tests on the books they read. The children must make 80 or better, or they wont get points for the books they just spent days reading, and this means they are "behind" in reaching the ultimate goal! Morgan had it in Panama City Florida when we lived there, and I didn't like it then either. Morgan was always way above her peers in reading, but I still wasn't on board with the whole AR Program. In my opinion when you "make" a child read to the degree the AR program sets you eventually could blow out a candle that would have burned bright. The kids that enjoy reading seem to thrive with this AR goal stuff, but the kids that haven't found the passion yet

Lookin' better than a Bubbie has a right to, and shakin' us up so that all we really know, is......here she comes again, and there we go.I love that song by Dolly. Of course that isn't how she sings it, but I felt it fit today big event!Bubbie should be arriving at the airport around 4pm! The older kids and Mikey wont be home, but George and I will be waiting anxiously for her arrival. Mikey is taking Michael and Morgan to see a HOCKEY game. A bunch of neighborhood friends are also going. I think there are around 14 kids/adults attending. I was invited, but I told them I was going to enjoy some time with Mom.While the other kids are gone to the Hockey game, Bubbie and George can enjoy some bonding time. George actually demands a lot of her attention, and the other kids have gotten use to i

A few weekends ago, Mikey and I took the kiddos fishing. Since a small boat wouldn't fit all five of us, Morgan and I got a boat to ourselves. The boats have small drop motors on them; therefore no rowing was involved (sigh of relief).I have to tell you something. I stink at driving a boat. I kept doing the weaving motion. Mikey was laughing at me the entire time (as seen in above photo). Every once in a while I would try to snap a photo, hear Morgan yell at me, "Mom, your about to run into the shore!". Then I would correct my path, and all would be okay (till the next time I took a photo). In any event, I got some really great photos of the surrounding residents of the lake.Check out these 3 turtles sitting on a log. I'm guessing they are sunbathing?I couldn't help but snap this shot. Bubbie got the kids a trampoline! Mikey and I had gotten Morgan and Michael one when we lived in Florida, but when we left we gave it away. Now that we have a yard that can maintain a new trampoline, we got it!Mikey had tons of homework to do today; hence Bubbie and I had to put the majority of the trampoline together. We did end up calling Mikey to help us towards the end. Bubbie got an enclosure to go around the trampoline, and he will be putting that on Tuesday!I got some cute pics of the kids playing on their new toy after we got it together. I plan on getting some individual pictures of them tomorrow or Tues. Thanks BUBBIE!!!!!!brittany dian

Last night we enjoyed a good game of BINGO together. Morgan won the first round. She was also the CALLER (called out letter and number). After the first round we all decided to make it more interesting and put some money one the table. A whole QUARTER was the pot!George WON!!!!!! Even though he was in the living room watching TV at the time!I got to make Mom the Pioneer Womans Pot Roast last night. She loved it as much as we all do. It is a delightful meal that everyone should try out. It isn't difficult to make, and the results are delicious! After dinner Morgan wanted to make some cookies. I got stuck doing most of it. After all the cookies were made we drove a dozen or so over to where Michael was spending the night. Collin (the boys house where Michael was at) is Morgan's Advanced Englis

YBouncing Bubbie
2008-04-10 09:01:00
The weather has been sorta yucky here, but that hasn't stopped Bubbie from enjoying some trampoline time with her grandbabies. I got some really cute photos of Bubbie with George. I think some of these will be getting enlarged and hung on George's bedroom walls!Morgan and her girlfriends have enjoyed the trampoline as well. I loved watching the girls jump around acting goofy. George let the girls enjoy some time for a bit, but then he had to get on up there with them! Today Bubbie and I are going to get some photos printed for her, and we are also getting an enlargment of some others. I will take a pic of the enlargment once I get it hung on my wall. Bubbie is getting the same photo to put in her office! The kids have been keeping us busy with popsicle making, cookie baking, game playing,

It seems as if my Mom's visit went extremely fast. One moment she was getting picked up from the local airport, and the next she was getting kisses good-bye! Before Bubbie headed back to Texas she had two of these printed out. One was for her to take back with her and the other she gave to us.I was needing a more recent photo of the kiddos to put above my fireplace. My Mom like my banner so much she asked me if I could make her a photo to hang in her office that looked simular to the above banner. I did, and she loved it. As you can see I thought it was a pretty cool photo myself, and ended using it for my fireplace photo! Thanks Mom.I always get a little depressed after Bubbie goes back home. I enjoy her company, help with the house, playing with the kids, and our shopping trips. We ended

Y Flowers In Bloom
2008-04-15 22:33:00
Our neighborhood is in full bloom. Everywhere we turn we are seeing Dogwoods, Redbuds, Azaleas, and much more. My Mom was in awe at the beauty of all the flowers that appear in our area.Virginia is beautiful. There is no doubt about it. Waking up to all the colors of spring is breathtaking. Another beautiful place is Washington State. Mikey and I lived there in 1997 (due to the military), and let me tell ya it is AMAZING.Since my Moms visit I received an e-mail from her asking to post some photos of our neighborhood so she could let everyone at her job see the beauty she got to see first hand. Hold on to your seat ladies and gents we are going on a flower ride......I told Mikey not to stop the truck for this picture. I was worried I would give this lady a heart attack. I could just see her

I have a busy day ahead of me, but before I get started I want to share a story with you.About a two weeks ago Mikey and I took George to a birthday party, and on the way Mikey asked if I heard what George said. Ummmmm, NO.I have learned over the years how to TUNE George out. This is a child that came out of my womb babbling! So for you mother out there you understand the necessity of tuning out what your child is saying most of the time. In fact, sometimes I do this too well, and the result ends with George getting ice cream out of the freezer and eating it all. Then when I find him he explains that I said, "Yeah, sure, whatever". Anyway, back to the story.I explain to Mikey that I have once again successfully tuned out my third child, and then I ask him to please tell me because whatever

Y Frozen Treats

While my mom was here on vacation, spending time with the kids, she brought her old fashion Popsicle makers. They were old and broke easily, but the kids loved them. The other day, while Mikey and I were at the Commissary, we found some of these:HURRAY.......We had looked at Wal-Mart for them, but no such luck. I figured, since we were lucky enough to find them, I would buy THREE packages of em'. One package for each kiddo. Yeah, I am that nice of a mom. Actually, I did it for selfish reasons. No fighting over the poplicle making. As soon as all the groceries were put away, George and I got busy making ourselves some POPSICLES.First, get any flavor Kool-Aid out. We have Tropical Punch because the kids hate Grape, and Morgan hates Cherry. Maybe next time we will grab up some Lemonade kind. I

Y Time Together
2008-04-19 08:14:00
On his way back from work, Mikey calls me and says he wants to take me fishing. It is a beautiful day, and we should go and enjoy it. I had to agree! After being with the kids all week I needed some fresh air, sunshine, and room to stretch my legs. So off we went to the fishing pier!I wasn't getting even a nibble; therefore, out comes the camera. I decided to make the most of my time and got some really cool shots of our surroundings.I got one of Mikey fishing off the pier. I couldn't resist it. He looked over at me like I was CRAZY for bringing the camera. I told him that if the fish were bitin' I wouldn't picked it up. But hey, they weren't biting. This is the big bridge we use to get to the pier. I just thought it would make a neat picture. I need a better lens for these kinds of photos.

Y Busy Little Weekend
2008-04-21 05:31:00
Can you believe we managed to stay busy all weekend? So busy my legs hurt, and I feel like I was run over by a Mac Truck. Okay, it isn't that bad. I might be overreacting just a bit, but my legs are sore.Morgan and Michael got their report cards on Friday. Both kids made the AB Honor Roll again. Yippie, round of applause for the kiddos. I was once again on edge all day Friday awaiting their arrival home from school. I had myself worked up into a tizzy, hoping they had done well on their report cards. After all these years of A's and B's you would think I would be okay during these times, but alas I am not. I will try and work on that.Saturday was full of SOCCER. Yes, we had two soccer games to attend. I haven't even downloaded my camera from Saturday yet; hence, I will be posting photos of

Y My Sweet Katie Girl

Katie......She is a wild child. She is as rough and tumble as her boys cousins. She is the smitten image of her daddy (but much prettier). She is full of sassiness. She is as sweet as milk chocolate melting in your mouth. She is my NIECE, and I adore her.Lucky for me this little cotton top loves to have her photo taken. When I am around her with my camera there are endless possiblities of some magnicient shots. From her roughing it with two outrages cousins Tyler and George, or jumping on the trampoline at her Uncle Kyle's house. II downloaded Pioneer Womans Action Set for photoshop, and I wanted to share with you some of my creations. If you haven't downloaded these "free" actions: Do it! Y Happy Earth Day Everyone!
2008-04-22 09:03:00
I helped Michael with a school project last night. That's the only reason I know what today is. I guess I shouldn't have told on myself, but oh well now you know. Morgan helped me finish up Michael's project, and when she found out what today was she starts yelling, "I know exactly what shirt I am wearing tomorrow!" Okay, whatever floats your boat baby girl.Isn't it the perfect shirt for today! She is soooo cool. She makes me laugh! I call her my little bookworm, and I just adore her. Here are my photo collages of the soccer games: Now I am off to go through George's closets because he is outgrowing all of his clothes. It is time to pack them suckers up and send them Bubbie's way. Bubbie gives them to people who need them. Isn't she sweet!brittany dian

Y Awwwww, It's Begining To Feel Like Spring
2008-04-24 08:04:00
The flowers are showing up everywhere. The kids are outside more than inside (thank goodness). Even Gabby is feeling a bit.........FRISKY!Hummmmmmm, what is this smell I'm smellin'? Well, whatever it is it has me wanting to do some rolling around!Down I go. I must look crazy out here, but I don't care. I am loving the feel of the grass on my side.Ohhhhh, I feel an itch on my back. I gotta get it. Awwwwww, much better. Wow this is fun.I can't forget about my other side. There is nothing better than rolling in the green grass on a beautiful sunny afternoon.......I couldn't just let Gabby get all the attention yesterday; therefore I made sure to capture a couple of shots of the kiddos.Morgan's is a little blurry. I don't know what happened, but I still like the way she looks in the photo. She

Y A Froggy Tale
2008-04-25 14:01:00
A while back the boys in the neighborhood decided they wanted to go frog hunting. The boys were kind enough to take George along for the hunt, and this is the story. The kids were all happy to have their Bubbie here for a visit during Spring Break. The only problem was, it had been rainy and cold since she had arrived. We were all beginning to wonder if the sun would ever shine during the break from school. Then on one of the last days of Bubbie's visit it happened. The rain stopped, the clouds parted, and the sun began to shine down on us all.The sun felt wonderful, and the kids decided it was time to go exploring. The girls, Morgan and Micaela, decided to take a walk to the store; while the boys went on a glorious frog hunt. The boys ended up coming home with three frogs. They had a "tiny

Y Welcoming Another Week
2008-04-28 08:13:00
We didn't have too much going on, but we had just enough. Saturday was busy because there was a soccer practice at 9am followed by shopping for a gift for Morgan's best friend Micaela. She had her big birthday bash on Saturday night, and as usual we were last minute shoppers. Are any of you like that? Every time I do the "last minute" thing, I tell myself I wont do it again. Then, I do it again.Mikey and I also had a birthday bash to go to. It was for one of George's little friends. Mikey and I also know the parents; therefore it was a kid/adult get together. The only thing was, they live over an hour away! We left Michael at his friends house, and headed out around 1pm to see our friends. Then at about 8pm we get a call from Michael saying him and his friend got into a fist fight. We told

Y Boys Boys Boys
2008-04-29 07:29:00
Boys. What can I say about boys? There are times during the day when I want to snatch them up by their hair, and then there are the other moments. The moments when you sit and watch your boys work together because they have a common interest in what they are doing. To see your older son mentor his younger brother in the aspects of how to find, capture, and release creatures big and small. The fact that the boys bring their finds to me is just icing on the cake. Some moms would cringe at the idea of having to see, photograph, or even handle these precious finds, but not me. I love the fact that the boys want me involved in their "hunts". I also relish in the fact that, once again, I get to pick up my camera and snap a few frames! Boys. I would have liked more. Say 3 more, running around m

Mikey has been transported back in time. Back to Cedar Bend, back to the tender age of 13, and back to the infamous trampoline! Oh the stories I could tell about my dear sweet hubby, Cedar Bend, age 13, and trampolines. Though I wont because one, he would do something terrible to me, like take away my camera for a week, and two I care too much for his parents to embarrass them.On to the present you say? Okay I can do that. I was getting the willies just visiting my youth anyway. Remember my sweet adorable Mom got the kids a trampoline while she was visiting? This is our head of household making his jumping debut!Look at his bounce. He has that determination in his eyes.Look at the arch in his back......OH, honey can you do that again? I didn't get a good enough photo. PLEASE!!! Awww, thank

| She's A Bird Dog
2008-05-04 08:16:00
In our backyard we possess a bird feeder system that we keep stocked with Sunflowers Seeds, Thistle, and now we have acquired this little green cage for what Mikey is calling "soot". The birds are loving the soot, but the problem is.........so is Gabby.Mikey and I were sitting on the deck enjoying a cup of Joe, small talk, the sunrise, and everything else a beautiful morning can offer. One of our favorite things to do as of late is watch some of these beautiful birds come by and get a snack at our Bird Restaurant.Gabby is on FULL alert. She is a Cocker Spaniel, which translates into BIRD DOG.Up until about a month ago all she would do would check out these flying creatures, and wonder why they always were at our house invading her territory. Now, her instincts are kicking in. She using her

Red didn't seem to work for Morgan. It was nice to see a change, but in reality..........she looks much better with her more natural hair color. Back to blond! Her hair still has some of the reddish brown in it, but with a heavy foil frost the salon lady hid most of it.Morgan and her buddies were off to the beach when I shot these photos. She was saying, "hurry up" "how many more?" "isn't that enough". I tell ya, I can't get any good models around here lately!!! I was able to shoot a few good shots of Morgan this morning before she ran off to catch the school bus. How come the fresh salon look, looks better than when we do it at home? I still think Morgan's hair looks great, but look at the difference between when we did it this morning, and when the salon did it!I am off to do some lau

Well if it weren't for my dear sweet Mother I wouldn't have known that Sunday is Mothers Day! I just forgot. I have been working on some things around here, and I totally lost track of what the heck was coming up.Mikey went to run some errands today, and came home with this:I had been wanting one for some time now, and now it is here! The kids wanted to check out the new toy too. So I let them make you all something:Morgan went first.........Then Michael.......George was too busy playing with his friend from the neighborhood to mess with the gadget. Well...............since he didn't I thought I would give it a whirl:This toy isn't easy to use, YET! I will be working on it, and maybe next time it will be something to be proud of. I love sports. It's a good thing I love em' because I rarely have an off season. During the Spring we have Soccer , Summer and Fall is Football time, and Winter is Soccer again. I think George is going to throw Baseball in the mix, or so I hope.Michael and Morgan have at least ONE more week of soccer. We have been getting tons of rain, which interferes with their soccer games. Soccer was suppose to over this weekend, but now it will be the 17th before we get a break.Morgan and her buds are on the same team! Yeah, they planned it that way. We all do the "car pool" thing, but I think the girls are with me most of the time. I don't mind because it's during these times, I get to hear the gossip and the plans. It was wonderful getting to see our friend Joani, and her daughter Alex too. We only had a couple of hours together because they were on a school road trip. We tried to catch up as fast as we could, ate dinner at a local Oyster Bar, and watched Alex get a Henna Tat.................I met Joani while I was pregnant with Michael. Her daughter, Alex, and Morgan are only a month apart in age! We all lived in the same apartment complex in Olympia Washington, and our husbands were both Army guys. We spent lots of time playing card games, and watching our husband act goofy. I had been trying for 8 months to get pregnant with our second child. I thought it wasn't going to happen, and then it did. I can still remember a lot about the pregnancy and the birth. I remember how sick I was from the 4th week till the 20th week. I remember lying on my Mother-In-Laws bathroom floor just waiting for the next wave of nausea to hit. Before we hit the beach to visit my friend Joanie the other day, I coerced my kids into posing for some photos for me. As their Mom I can do that. It's one of those perks I enjoy.
