Where is the Respect and Gratitude?
2008-03-24 21:42:09
What has happened in our society where we no longer respect police officers or the men and women in our military? We don’t respect what they do for us, what they put on the line for their country. It tends to be a sad day, a sad world when we don’t respect. Why are we taking away more and more right for our military men and women and also our police officers? As a society, we are very quick to become Monday morning quarterbacks and ridiculing a solder for killing a citizen in a war. We are even quicker when a police officer uses his weapon. Well put yourself in their shoes. Walk up to a car in the middle of the night, with tinted windows, knowing guns are very easy to get, knowing a person doesn’t respect your position. How would you feel? Would your heart be beating? Would

Walmart - A moral thing
2008-03-24 15:18:34
Everybody has their rights, even big businesses.  I have always taken Wal-Mart’s side even when CNN and other have gone after them trying to paint a bad face on Wal-Mart.  A couple years back CNN went after Wal-Mart saying their health insurance was sub par.  In this instance. nobody should tell a business how to run their business.  Capitalism would work it all out if their was a problem.  If there insurance was extremely bad, works would go find a job somewhere else and in return Wal-Mart would have to revisit their health insurance.  But this is for another time and we can get into that later.  This is about a moral obligation on Wal-Mart or any other business.  Watch Video After you watch this video, my first reaction is does Wal-Mart really need the money over th

Where is the money going?
2008-03-23 23:22:58
Where is all the money going? That’s the questions. We have more and more people in the United States, earning higher revenues, taxes are at an all time high, but yet less and less money is going for public safety items like Jails, rehab centers, military etc. Do we as a nation care less about the safety of our lives and protecting ourselves? Why wouldn’t public safety be number one on our list, building a stronger military, increasing our police force, increasing our jails, increasing our rehab centers for people who need help with mental and drug related issues, since these are a lot of the people in jail? We are letting people out every day because of over crowding. So in essence what we are saying to the police is thanks for protecting the streets and putting your life in dan

Big Businesses Don’t Listen
2008-03-23 18:01:09
Have you ever noticed that big businesses don’t listen, even when its right in front of them. Lets take a business with instant feedback like hockey. Hockey has been trying to get more and more fans to their games for years. They have tried every year to implement new rules because they think the problem is low scoring games. So what they try to do is change the game to make higher scoring games to attract more people. What they don’t realize is they may attract some new people, but they alienate long time watchers. Hockey implements new tactics such as cutting down on the hitting in the NHL, so players can be open and take more shots. Well what these guys don’t do, is attend an NHL game and listen to the fans. Every hard hit and every fight, you will here fans gather on thei

Let’s Tax the Rich
2008-03-27 14:43:26
This is something that comes up time and time again. I don’t understand this logic. I don’t understand why you would want to tax someone for succeeding. As a U.S citizen I have a couple of choices to make money. I can start a business or I can go work for someone else. Let’s take a look at both of these. If I go work for someone else, I don’t have to take on any risk by putting money up front. I work my regular hours, say 9-5. When I leave the job, I really don’t have to care what happens at work. I don’t have to worry about health care, dental and vision because chances are the employer will have these. I can spend more time with my family because my job is only from 9-5. I can also buy more for my family because I don’t have money tied up in investing in a bus
