Sessions, but Sexier
2008-03-25 07:14:09
There are scenarios where a page must recognize a value from another page. Query strings would help out a lot int this, but what if you wouldn't want it embedded in the HTTP header and rather have it as a request? A good workaround with this is to use Sessions but with more ease to it. Here's how...using System;using System.Web;public class SessionVariableClass{ //Constructor public SessionVariableClass() { } //References to which variable will the value be assigned to private const string SessionVariableRef1 = "SessionVariableRef1"; public static int SessionVariable1 { get { return (int)HttpContext.Current.Session[SessionVariableClass.SessionVariableRef1]; } set { HttpContext.Current.Session[SessionVariableClass

Making a javascript functions from variables is one thing important for a .NET developer. Means to say, we can define a variable when associated with a function. Much like...var message = function DisplayMessage(boolVar){ if(boolVar == 'true') document.write("He's telling the truth!"); else document.write("You lie!");}The call would be something like this...DisplayMessage(true);

The manga's called "Ai Kora" or in English "Love and Collage". I haven't heard of any news yet of this having an anime series, but it'll also be great having it. This is another heckuva job by Kazurou Inoue. I am now officially a Kazurou fan. Kon ne mon desu ka? I don't know what the hell that means. It just sounds provoking. Anyway, this revolves around a 15 year old strangely perverted Hachibei Maeda. The thing about this boy is that he's focus on women are held questionable by his fetishes. For instance, his fetish for eyes are those of catlike shape with a color with a ocean shade of blue. His typical breasts are what he calls "bullet trains", as he likes 'em shaped like the front tip of the bullet train. His ideal legs are that of a straight smooth long legs...attracted by those? Even

It's unbelievably hot today. Considering it's summer already, the surroundings would be hot, of course. It's just so hot that that I could gulp down a bottle of water in a matter of seconds. I'd like to hydrate myself with as much water as I could, it's because nowadays I take soft drinks and iced tea more than water. And too much of something is never good as they say. Come to think of it...is too much water bad? Will wiki that one later. :D Anyway, my activities right now could only spark of little interest to you. I'm not having a healthy time with TV. There isn't much to watch 'cept for History Channel. Yeah, I'd like some history on screen. With that, the other thing I'm into watching are just from DVDs. But now I prefer surfing the net. Couldn't do this much nowadays as work bounds m

Let me tell you something about this sweet, sweet friend who'd always understand me of my angst and my shortcomings. She's so sweet that she'd always be in the middle of all the heat of every the hottest situation. That's a real soldier right there. Though there were times she could give up. Give the person a break anyway. She'd been through worst $hit. I've never seen anyone so patient and articulate in terms of finding out both sides of people involved. To put all these to crisp, this person's the go-to person.I'm proud to be called her friend. Although, the day's been so long. And I argued really hard with this person. I really didn't want the things to escalate to this point. It's really hard to have an argument with this one. Not that the person's narrow-minded, but I just can't don t

They say that there are first times to anything. But only a handful says that things happening again sometimes really gets you thinking. I have loved someone so much in my life. We use to have disagreements over petty things a lot, but eventually we would be playing it cool again. It's the fact that she disappoints me is the thing that I know how much I love her. You can never feel as much failure as from someone who you really hold close to you. But alas, this bond won't be taken to the end. I thought I could never care for somebody else this soon. Well it took form of these two people I care so much about. They were with me when I was crying over my failed love. They still were with me when I was playing a$$hole. They were with me when they needed my help. They were with me just to be ou

The Top Ten Thing You Should Know About Grammar
2008-03-08 08:19:59
I'm with this thing concerning the improvement of the grammars of your peers. Even if they don't, it's your choice to take responsibility of informing them of trivial nitty grits such as the one below. This BTW is taken from here. 10. A run-on sentence is a really long sentence. Wrong! They can actually be quite short. In a run-on sentence, independent clauses are squished together without the help of punctuation or a conjunction. If you write I am happy I am glad as one sentence without a semicolon, colon, or dash between the two independent clauses, it's a run-on sentence even though it only has six words. (See episode 49 for more details.) 9. You shouldn't start a sentence with the word however. Wrong! It's fine to start a sentence with however so long as you use a comma after it when

I'm Playing this One By Ear
2008-03-07 10:14:27
Usually, I'l be blogging with some thoughts beforehand. But in my present state, we'll just say "Fcuk it!" and throw uniformity to the wind. Right beside me are a hefty tons of chocolates, enough to crush a GMC Topkick and a Hoover Dam of Gatorade. By this possessions, I'm in for a long night. And my rationality treats chocolates and Gatrades with respect. I just don't drink and eat them. I drink and eat them while I do my midnight warrior business. I thanked the internet for existing 'cause if it didn't I could be so white watching "The OC" or "One Tree Hill". But wait, "Entourage" could deprive me of boredom. Can't wait for Ari Gold to start being a d!cktard in Season 4. w00t!As you are earlier informed, this blog is random as Rubics rube. I'm conveying my current thoughts and my current

Some o' that sad things that I've been blogging about don't really apply to me anymore. So take that frowny! I'll be like the Fonzies. The Fonzies. Like "Pulp Fiction" cool. As Undercover Brother would say: "Getting mah groove back!". I think for the past two weeks I've been Tumblring and Twittering. Simply put, thems are web applications to just spam the net with your randomity. So you can say what you can out loud or share some stuff that tickles yo mind by posting them via hyperlinks. Easy no? I don't know what really interests me about it, but for me it's fun. So as you can see I may not be able to post much in my blog or rather infreque

Sanity...Better Keep It Intact
2008-02-26 06:10:38
So I spent my nights sleeping in the office which were on February 14-16 and then on February 21-23. Some life huh? Well the deadlines were pretty tight that we have to save up some time to get ourselves some sleep. That's how screwed up things are in the office right now. And to think I have to cancel a date. That shit ain't just cookin'. But why do this when you can just say no? Well it's not really that easy. I can't say no especially when there're deadlines. Keyword...DEADlines. I really don't mind working late at night. 'Cause some people would notice I'm awake till 2:00 AM. I'm pushing my a$$ off if you caught me at 3. Hey, I'm a computer- science-no-jutsu (whatever that means)...there's bound to be days errr nights where you have to spend it in the office. If only there's a Twitter-

The Wealthiest Billionaire
2008-02-20 03:10:05
INTERVIEW OF WARREN BUFFETThere was a one hour interview on CNBC with Warren Buffet, the second richest man who has donated $31 billion to charity. Here are some very interesting aspects of his life:1. He bought his first share at age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late! 2. He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers. 3. He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in mid-town Omaha , that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence. 4. He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him. 5. He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company. 6. His company,

From Ten Commandments to Ten Types of Programmers...
2008-02-19 21:51:48
TechRepublic has some of the brain feeding articles...This is one of those... Programmers enjoy a reputation for being peculiar people. In fact, even within the development community, there are certain programmer archetypes that other programmers find strange. Here are 10 types of programmers you are likely to run across. Can you think of any more? #1: Gandalf This programmer type looks like a short-list candidate to play Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings. He (or even she!) has a beard halfway to his knees, a goofy looking hat, and may wear a cape or a cloak in the winter. Luckily for the team, this person is just as adept at working magic as Gandalf. Unluckily for the team, they will need to endure hours of stories from Gandalf about how he or she to walk uphill both ways in the s

Putting the RSS in .NET
2008-02-17 11:43:52
I fell in love with it the moment I thought about it. I googled "RSS .NET" and immediately I saw a class library for it. At first I was doubtful 'cause I'm not this big VB junkie, so I asked myself if this one could also be added as reference in C# platform. IT IS!!! I'm really excited how this would turn out. The bad thing about this is it's unfinished. And nothing's worst for a developer, bt an unfinished library.

Yahoo Took a Nice Web 2.0 Step
2008-02-16 23:50:44
Yahoo! Pipes is the first thing I saw of its kind that can do things that makes you wanna go "I'D HIT THAT!" The thing about that is it's not just some site. It's an application per se. It lets you gather your Web feeds or just plain ol' web pages. So okay, how's it different by just having an RSS Feed in your browser? One word ladies and gentlemen...it's filtering. You can publish those feeds and pages accordingly o your preference. So for example, you might want to have a fed of someone else's Tumblelog, but you only want to see their photo posts. Pipes can do all that with a sweet whistling sound with it. To put simply, Pipes is like an SQL in for feeds and pages. As ofnow, I'm learning to pipe them feeds. I realized just now, with my Computer Science background, I can easily learn to p

Note to Self : Don't Forget the Vitamins, Baby!
2008-02-10 10:41:19
Someone texted about being conscious with my health as this person noticed me smoking too much. Can't really blame myself about that. It's been four years and I'm not really happy about not catching the feeling of quitting. That's lame. What's more is that I always forget to make multivitamins in the morning after breakfast. So what am I complaining about? Well, my nose clogs from time to time and sometimes it's just there for the whole day. Does anyone want to disagree that sleeping with a clogged nose is tough? When I was a kid I used to take vitamins like it's going out of style...to the point that my lips was losing its color and I can feel the rush of blood in my lips. Sorta like steroids for my lips. Flintstone vitamin is the sheezy!Gotta etch this in my brain : "Take those vitamins,

A Darn Headache
2008-02-03 10:15:11
Today I was in a party 'cause there wasn't a lot of food around and there isn't really anything in the house that could take my attention away from boredom. The party was okay I get to talk with some people, but the headache was getting to me. Recently, there're some things I wouldn't like to mark as pleasant. That and my headache told me to calm my ass down. I went some where to give myself some solitude. Just me and a stick of cigarette will do the magic. Nowadays, cigarettes are vital to times that I should be calm. They work most of the times. Then Rex, texted me if I could be in SM. Things are getting better. So I told him that I'm available if only I could ditch the party. And ditch I did. Luckily, there were some group of people getting out of the party and the thought of leaving the

A Quick Hajime No Ippos vs. Civil War Crossover

Hajime No Ippo is one of my all time favorites in manga as well as in anime. How much I like the anime is as much as how I like the manga. Dynamiteglove.com's a great site to know the manga of this series and they coughed up a pretty good idea with a Hajime No Ippo/Civil War forum tags. It's kinda cool. Thanks goes to Puar, HHBX, and A Wanderer.*Whistles* Now those are good, right? And lot of 'em too. :D

I would've never thought of myself as someone who'd adore sneakers and Snickers. :D I've been serious about my work to the point that I wouldn't go back in my house for three days just to get on my deadlines, with this, I've also been serious with buying sneakers. I've seen an awful lot of good sneakers. Take this one for example...This is my love made apparent in rubber. For people in the US, this'd cost you $50-$52. Here in the Philippines, we'd get this at about $80-$83 with the exchange rate of $1-P42 in mind. I was hoping to save some money to get me one of those sons of biatches. Then just out of the blue this particular someone bought me them 'cause we were talking about shoes and I just happen to mention about the Marc Ecko Gull's Men Shoes (above). Session variables are of good use to setting and acquiring values in the current class context or from a page to another page. This is where ViewState objects and Session variables differ. ViewState can only be accessed in a single object, but is much efficient since the page only has to access it locally. Take this for example...//Looks familiar don't it?public partial class main_Default : System.Web.UI.Page{ private const string ViewStateVariableRef1 = "ViewSateVariable1"; protected int ViewSateVariable1 { get { object objs = this.ViewState[main_Default.ViewStateVariableRef1]; return objs == null ? null : (int)objs); } set { this.ViewState[main_Default.ViewStateVariableRef1] = value; } }}How to use it? The Lonely Wolf *Sigh*

Ladies and geantlemen!! Yeah! I spelled like that 'cause I wanted to. I've pondered here and there and realized that I'm really beginning to feel the darn loneliness. Well no good complaining about it now 'cause I had it coming. Maybe out of my subconsciousness is why I'm into blogging and surfing the net (What the fcuk! Fcuking cockroach just got on my foot!) more than ever. I've never been bored in surfing the net. I got myself into reading news about lots of things. But hey, I won't be surfing forever, would I? That's what got me thinking. Sure, back in high school I have friends, but I'm not always the one needing company. Getting older just built up the fact that everyone else must have friends to hang out with. In college, I didn't mind going to school alone, eating lunch alone, surf

Distractions? Gimme a Break...
2008-03-29 14:42:18
Oh how I wish I could get my self esteem back. I could get it back, but it's in the sh!tter. So if I could get it, it's all covered in sh!t and it'll take awhile for it to wipe it off. I'm hitting rock bottom now. So this is how it feels like. I've nowhere to turn to. I feel so abandoned. I got no one to talk to. There's no one to comfort me. Yeah yeah! Boo hoo! Make fun of me now! Say "You're just like an emo motherfcuker, motherfcuker!". I've lost my credibility to some people now and I couldn't get it back. Clearly, this is karma. And how I hate it. I do care what people see in me. If I don't like what they think of me, it's nothing I could do. I don't have to explain to them anything, rather I'd convey to them what I feel and would just stop there. I'm surfing my a$$ off in the interne
