Mage Focus Macros 2008-03-24 18:40:29 When it comes to mages, well, there's really no limit to the amount you can do to improve keep improving your game. From kiting to crowd control, bursting down the target and assisting your team mates, there's always something you can do better.
Perhaps one of the most effective ways to quickly improve your play is through effective targeting, and there's no better way to manage this mechanic than through focus macros.
If you aren't familiar with focus macros, how they work, and how you can set them up I suggest you check out my focus macros guide.

Mage Macro Guide 2008-03-21 01:52:23 Let's face it, in World of Warcraft you're only as good as your macros. This isn't to say that you should let your macro play for you, but you can certainly help take your game to a new level by using just a few simple macros.
So let's check out some popular macros mages should consider.

Priest / Rogue 2v2 Arena Strategy 2008-03-14 22:23:41 The rogue / priest (healer) combo is one of the most dominant setups in 2v2 currently. The combo dominants because of it's ability to play both incredibly offensively and also turtle down and spam drink for long games. This type of flexibility makes the team a threat vs. all combos.
Talent Specs
Let's start with the basics, the talent specs. We'll begin with the rogue.
Rogue
's Talent Spec
The big thing on the rogue's talent spec is having a build which can maintain long duration and high sustainable damage. Fortunately there are a couple of specs which fit this criteria. Basically, you've got deep combat (20/41/0) or mutilate (41/20/0). Now there are several variations of each spec, I prefer the 16/45/0, but there are an endless number of possible specs.

State of the Zug-Union Address 2008-03-12 17:07:02 Zug Nation...since I started this site in the summer of 2007 I had lofty goals for it. Where so many WoW sites had failed before I wanted (and still do) ZugGaming to become THE source for WoW strategy, news, and information.
In many ways we've already achieved many of these goals, but I think we can do more. Up to this point I have been the sole contributor of news and articles on this site and I like to think through those articles I've been able to help a lot of people.
But in the end, I'm only one man, but oh Zug Nation...I have a dream, a dream where all WoW players and gamers can come together as a glorious community. While I am still working out the logistics involved, my newest goal is to further establish the site so anyone with a good idea or strategy can be heard.

Shaman Macro Guide 2008-03-10 20:03:50 Every class is going to be using a fair amount of macros to lessened the button load on their bars, and shaman is certainly one that takes heavy advantage of this. Being a hybrid class there are a variety of different talent specs that will take advantage of only a selection of these macros. So for this guide I'll be organizing the macros by the three primary shaman specs, enhancement, elemental, and restoration. In addition, I've listed some general shaman macros.

Update from Zuggy 2008-03-09 01:14:44 Hey everyone,
My apologies on the somewhat jumbled nature of the site right now. I'm in the process of reorganizing all the menus in preparation for the next big wave of content, which brings me to my next point.
Beginning next week I'll really be getting into some hardcore arena strategies. Any combo, any class, any specs, we'll cover it all so anyone can learn something from the write ups.
With any luck I'll have all this menu stuff resolved by Sunday evening and we can get back to what's really important, WoW! Read more:Update

Rogue Focus Macros 2008-02-28 22:58:32 When I talk about focus macros to other rogues most have no idea what I'm talking about. Many rogue's simply don't take advantage of focus macros because they either don't know what a focus macro is or don't know how they can be beneficial to rogues.
Let me be the first to tell you, they are crucial! They dramatically increase your ability to land kicks, gouges, shivs, blinds, and other abilities in the heat of combat. If you aren't sure how to use a focus then make sure you checkout my basic focus macro guide, it answers a lot of general questions you may have.
That aside, let's get right into some of the best focus macros for rogues.

Final 2.4 Patch Notes 2008-03-25 11:41:30 Well, at long last, patch 2.4 has arrived! The servers are slated to come up at 11:00 a.m. EST, though I have a feeling it might be a couple hours later than that.
Also, don't forget patch 2.4 is NOT the start of arena season 4. A couple of days ago Drysc made a post on the World of Warcraft forums confirming that season 4 isn't slated to begin for fair amount of time.
I suspect we won't see season 4 until several guilds are well on their way to completely clearly the new 25 man instance, Sunwell Plateau. But all that aside, here's the final version of the 2.4 patch notes.
Fury of the Sunwell
The glorious fount of arcane energy known as the Sunwell empowered the high elves for millennia, until the death knight Arthas laid siege to the elven kingdom and corrupted its sacred energies. See Read more:Final

Zug Gaming's Count Down to Awesome - Part One 2008-04-04 00:41:57 At long last, part one has arrived! Sorry for my initial estimation, which obviously was way off. So what does the new Zug Gaming
have to offer?
Better Navigation
I've completely re-coded the old menu and internal linking structure of the site. Allowing articles to be properly categorized, but also providing users with an easy and efficient way to find them. Also, expect to see more menus in the next couple of days, just takes time to get them coded and linked properly, but they'll be there!
Drop Down Menus
No more scrolling a mile down the page to find an article, simply select your destination via the drop down menu up top.
Better Overall Design
The old design was a little bit like a patchwork of 1 parts CSS, 1 parts HTML, and 1 parts Internet Explorer nightmare. As a result...it had to Read more:Count Down
Focus Macro Guide 2008-02-21 20:22:06 Many players are always looking for that secret strategy or technique to help elevate their game to the next level. Typically, there is no secret, and it all just comes down to practice, but in the case of focus macros...well, this just might be it!
Let's start with the basics, what is a focus?
The focus technology is a user interface addition Blizzard added to the game just before the Burning Crusade was released. You can setup a key binding for "focus target" in the Blizzard key bindings option, or you can simply create a macro with the line:
/focus
Advanced users may prefer this method:
/focus [target=mouseover,exists]; target
*this macro will focus your mouseover target, very handy
This will enable you to take advantage of focus macro utility that we'll get too in just a second. Basica Read more:Focus

Blizzard 3v3 Arena Tournament Announced 2008-02-14 20:43:42 Blizzard Entertainment announced earlier today that it will be hosting the first ever World of Warcraft 3v3 arena tournament!
The tournament is scheduled to begin early April of this year, and unlike previous tournaments which required players to transfer characters to a tournament realm this tournament will take place on a special event server.
Players won't have to deal with leveling characters or gearing up, you'll be able to simply create a level 70 already geared for arena combat.
The tournament will encompass six regions, Europe, North America, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.
If bragging rights weren't enough there's over $200,000 up for grabs. Each competitor will have to fork over $20 to compete, but if you've got the skills it's well worth it. The top four teams who adv Read more:Blizzard

More Free Character Realm Transfers 2008-02-13 15:49:03 Early today Blizzard announced yet another round of free server transfers. So funny to see Smolderthorn included in this list, a server which one hardly held steady at medium for the majority of its life. Now there are nightly queues on the server and an increasing numbing of lag problems. Yet again, I hope this helps solve some of these issues and alleviates the stresses on the server.

Rogue / Priest 2v2 Arena Strategy Breakdown (Video) 2008-02-12 19:40:29 As many of you know I recently released my first pvp arena video, Zuggy 1: Revenge of the Troll. The video features myself, Zuggy (combat rogue), and my partner, Engage (disc priest), in 2v2.
The video showcases a variety of top ranking teams on battlegroup 1 (Reckoning) and was initially created for the purpose of entertainment. However, since it's release I've received a ton of questions about the video. Why I fought certain battles a particular way, why I had particular talent over another, you get the idea.
The following is meant to be something of a tutorial and to hopefully explain why I made the decisions I made through the arena matches.
Note: I am spec’d deep combat (16/45/0) throughout the video and Engage is spec’d heavy disc with searing light and reflective shield.

PTR Character Copies Up! 2008-02-08 11:05:24 Any doubts anyone may have had regarding patch 2.4 being slow to hit the public test realm were immediately put to bed earlier this morning when character copies were finally opened.
As usual each account gets a total of 4 character copies, and it'd be a good idea to go ahead and get your characters copied before the wait times get too bad.
I finally got my characters copied over after numerous "the service youre trying to access is too busy right now, please check back another time."
With any luck the PTR, and more importantly the patch notes, will be live by Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Wrath of the Lich King Beastiary 2008-02-08 10:55:17 Blizzard has just updated the Wrath of the Lich King's beastiary with some of the new monsters we'll all get to encounter when the expansion is finally released.
So far only details on the Nerubian Vizier, Plague Eruptor, and Shovel Tusk have been released. Other mobs including darkfallen, ice troll, photo-dragon, magnataur, windigo, flesh giant, and jormungar wyrm are on the way.
Check out the most recent screen shots of the Shovel Tusk. I don't know about you, but it's good to see some varying landscapes. I was afraid that the expansion would be nothing but snow and ice.
Looks like blizzard is off on the right foot.
Alterac Valley Improvements in 2.4 2008-02-05 00:26:25 " Alterac Valley
will see a few very significant improvements in the next patch and we wanted to share the details of what we have planned.
The first change will be to move the Horde's starting tunnel back to a more equal distance from the first objectives, which will help evenly distance the starting points for each side across the terrain when the battle commences.
In addition, the General and Warmasters for each faction will receive a stacking buff from each other that boosts their health and damage. The more of them that are still in the battleground, the more dangerous they will all be. This will put a greater focus on destroying (and defending!) the towers that remove the Warmasters as players work toward defeating the appropriate General and conquering the land.

2.4 Class Changes 2008-02-05 00:20:21 Nethaera made a short post this afternoon regarding what we can all expect as far as classes changes go in the upcoming patch 2.4.
"I'm going to be a bit cautious in what I say in this regard. Will there be some changes to classes? Yes, there will be some. We're not rushing into a bunch of class changes for this patch at this point. Consider the patch to be a bit more progressive in nature. As we go along, the developers are going to be keeping a close eye on the results of any changes and additions and then making changes as they feel they are necessary. How many changes occur are going to be based on testing over time. This is why it's important for players to get in and test it as much as possible.
We want to make sure that the changes we are making are viable and practical for continue
