“You’re god damn right!” 2007-02-09 08:35:00 Intel co-founder finally gets to buy the computer of his dreams: Apple MacBook ProI had to ask, with a bit of a snicker: “So, did you finally get to buy the computer you’ve always dreamed of having, now that there’s Intel inside?”
Conciousness Explained 2007-03-26 05:49:00 Fate is nothing but a series of self-made decisions based on circumstance and hope for the future to be better or at least different than it is now. There is always a plan in mind, no matter how subtle or enforced, and what is considered to be fate is nothing but the actions upon said plan, determined around the unforeseeable consequences and outcomes of outside forces expounded upon by everyday life. It explains how each person determines whether they are fated to be good or bad, rich or poor, angelic or bastardly. Add in each separate personality and the experience of the world and all questions can be answered, tailored to each individual.
Impeachment Looming 2007-03-26 03:20:00 "Any president who says, I don't care, or I will not respond to what the people of this country are saying about Iraq or anything else, or I don't care what the Congress does, I am going to proceed — if a president really believes that, then there are — what I was pointing out, there are ways to deal with that."--Senator Chuck Hagel Read more:Impeachment

Effective 09/01/07 2007-03-29 16:27:00 Governor Rick Perry's office said on Tuesday that he had signed a new law that expands Texans' existing right to use deadly force to defend themselves "without retreat" in their homes, cars and workplaces."The right to defend oneself from an imminent act of harm should not only be clearly defined in Texas law, but is intuitive to human nature," Perry said on his Web site.

Finally, fun on a boat! 2007-03-31 00:27:00 Norwegian Cruise Lines has started up offering projector sized Wii in the atrium of their newest cruise ship, as well as other areas in the ship. The entire line is to soon be outfitted with Wii play areas. This is amazing, too bad it wasn't on the Rock Boat. Whenever you're stumbling around drunk trying to avoid the next crappy band, having a diversion of this form is a great idea. It would have been awesome to watch Jewsh and Adrian go at this, especially on the day when we were all locked inside the boat due to hurrican force wind and the ship was all kinds of rocking crazy. Precisely 2007-04-03 17:21:00 "If [alcohol] sloweth age, it strengtheneth youth, it helpeth digestion, it abandoneth melancholie, it relisheth the heart, it lighteneth the mind, it quickeneth the spirits, it keepeth and preserveth the head from whirling, the eyes from dazzling, the tongue from lisping, the mouth from snaffling, the teeth from chattering, and the throat from rattling; it keepeth the stomach from wambling, the heart from swelling, the hands from shivering, the sinews from shrinking, the veins from crumbling, the bones from aching, and the marrow from soaking." — Anonymous, 13th century, quoted in The Great Quotations, George Seldes, 1983
RIAA attacking NIN 2007-04-05 02:31:00 According to Billboard.com, the RIAA sent cease-and-desist emails to web sites that posted the tracks, leading one industry source to say, "These f***ing idiots are going after a campaign that the label signed off on."I love when organizations like the RIAA stick their heads so far up their butts they can't bother with logic. Because, of course, it makes perfectly logical sense to go after Nine Inch Nails for leaking its own music.

Office Death 2007-04-06 18:57:00 Kill Yourself in Five Minutes or LessNo, not a how-to guide. If you need a guide to pull off a short suicide in real life, you're not being creative enough. This, however, is an awesome little game with the aim of finally finishing yourself off at work with only the use of common office equipment and abuse of coworkers. The controls are a little annoying, but it is terribly satisfying to stab yourself in the chest with a pair of scissors or have the microwave explode on you.

Link Dump 2007-04-08 04:35:00 So tonight has been divided between baking deserts for tomorrow's family dinner, cooking lasagna and supplemental foods for the seven people over for game and spending much too many hours online reading news and the like. So rather than a few different entries, everything goes all together, feel free to pick and choose. And yes, I did manage to burn half the cookies. The lasagna was great, but not like I did anything but put it in the oven. The brownies are still in the oven, and I did work quite hard at stirring the mix with my broken wrist.Tale of a 13 Year Old Prostitute: Bias Against Being a US CitizenFundamentalist Secularists and the Religion of AtheismMy Brief Career As A Phone-sex Worker Doesn't pay off it seemsTen Things Your Boss Hates About YouPink Floyd the same without Roger WatersNew York Auto Show PreviewLaura Miller Should DIAF.... Hmm... 2007-04-09 17:07:00 It's always a curious thing to be browsing through a random blog and find a picture of something that you've seen so often that it is taken for granted as a standard piece of the landscape. This was found onXenmate, and taken by Bijou, a woman from New York. Just goes to show how even if it isn't something special to you, to someone from out of town even the old Carrollton tower-turned-rock-climbing-gym can be considered something picture-worthy.
