When We Two Parted
2008-03-15 03:12:25
HEN we two parted In silence and tears, Half broken-hearted To sever for years, Pale grew thy cheek and cold, Colder thy kiss; Truly that hour foretold Sorrow to this. The dew of the morning Sunk chill on my brow-- It felt like the warning Of what I feel now. Thy vows are all broken, And light is thy fame: I hear thy name spoken, And share in its shame. They name thee before me,

Poor Creatures!
2008-03-15 03:12:12
What it takes on this planetto love each other in peace:all the world examines the sheets, all of them trouble your love. And they say terrible thingsabout a man and a womanwho, after lots of vacillations, and lots of deliberations,do something incomparable, fall together into one bed. I ask myself if the frogsstake out, sneeze at, themselves, whether they whisper in pondsagainst the outlaw frogsagainst the joy of spawn.I ask myself if the birdsmake bird enemiesand if the bull listens to oxenbefore he pays court to the cows. Now the streets have eyes, the parks have police, the hotels have their spys, the windows note down names, troops and guns are sent outresolute against love, working incessantlythe throats and the ears, and a guy and his girlare forced to burst into flowerwhile fleeing on a

Your hands
2008-03-15 03:10:11
When your hands leaptowards mine, love, what do they bring me in flight? Why did they stopat my lips, so suddenly, why do I know them,as if once before,I have touched them,as if, before being, they travelledmy forehead, my waist?Their smoothness camewinging through time, over the sea and the smoke, over the Spring, and when you laidyour hands on my chestI knew those wingsof the gold doves,I knew that clay, and that colour of grain. The years of my lifehave been roadways of searching,a climbing of stairs,a crossing of reefs.Trains hurled me onwardswaters recalled me,on the surface of grapesit seemed that I touched you.Wood, of a sudden, made contact with you,the almond-tree summonedyour hidden smoothness, until both your handsclosed on my chest, like a pair of wingsending their flight.- Pablo Neruda fr

Diary of a Soul
2008-03-09 10:11:01
There are sounds echoing throughout the expanse which shelters this wounded Soul Eerily imitating the haunted voices of them who are the Knaves that caused pain Those voices that dragged this Soul to a state of being and nothingness A state of contradiction which led this Soul to seek discernment. Fear - the first hurdle to overcome and it will always be present For every place Soul went to, there will always be those voices. Fear is constant. It will unceasingly haunt Soul. But for Fear to be present, there should always be a cause. In this Soul’s case, it was the Pain that caused Fear. And Pain was caused by Dishonesty and Distrust And with them came Anger. I am Soul and I am Lost. This is the pursuit on finding my way. I am aimlessly wandering around, without any idea of

living my lifeas i have always lived,i almost thoughtthat i have been freed. - freed from the sorrowsthat kept me in the dark, tore my soul- bound my heart. i am now freed- i thought, from the frightening depthsin which i have been caught. i sought releasefrom the dreary nighti sought the sunthat would return my sight. i thought that i have clearedthe deep crevices of my mindfrom the dark shadows that reigned.but still, I am resigned. i resigned myself to the factthat i would always be boundto this depth i have never known- this love that is so profound. before i sought freedom, but i now knowthat i do not seek release- Anymore. i desired to gain releaseand the freedom i thought i attained.but what is its purpose now?my lost sight is now regained. so i thought i am now freeand indee

JUST A THoUGHT
2008-03-08 07:15:39
it just feels so bad when you have this humongous urge to see and be with someone then suddenly realize that you will not be with that person for a month and a half. It's agonizing. it's just quite frightening when you have gotten so used being with this person for almost every single day for the past half year then having to separate for a time. It's very unsettling. But then again when this fogged brain clears up, it's not that much of a deal. But to heck with it, I'm just fooling myself. But maybe I'm not. For one thing, separation is needed for space and for individual growth. As I quote him, "Let us grow as individuals so that we may become even stronger when together." Atta boy. This is a time for self-adjustment and such. And a time for the friends who stuck by, for better or for

Police attack gangs with Bach, Beethoven
2008-03-08 07:12:48
Police attack gangs with Bach, Beethoven Authorities try to disrupt gangs by playing classical music in transit centerTACOMA, Wash. - City authorities, fed up with gang activity in public places, are taking Bach their bus stop.Transit workers are installing speakers this week to pump classical music from Seattle’s KING-FM into the Tacoma Mall Transit Center. The tactic is designed to disperse young criminals who make drug deals at the bus stop or use public transportation to circulate between the mall and other trouble-prone places. The attack by Bach, Brahms and Beethoven follows the theory that prompted the city to stage pinochle games on dangerous street corners: Jolting the routine in such spots throws criminals off balance.“It’s based on routine activity theory and situational cri

..at last. I haven't been able to come home for two weeks.. Well, for one thing, let me get this straight.. The dorm is a dorm and this house in Lipa is my home. And I just missed being here. We have just arrived home from a performance with the Musica Chiesa, C5, Noel Cabangon, Bukas Palad, and Hangad in Shangri-La for the Jesuit Communication Foundation. It has been a very long week, and I only had two classes for this week. The rest were pretty much non-existent due to the loads of performances. We had the Metro Manila Community Orchestra(MMCO) Christmas Concert last Tuesday. I think the concert was entitled Adeste Fideles 2007. Then came the December 7 performance of the whole of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony by the University of the Philippines-Orchestra followed by some pieces from Han

Well, a happy new year to all!So here I am, new year and all, in front of the computer.. Well, it's been a quiet celebration with my family, my dogs and cats, and Ralph on the phone..Okay, enough with the weird intro. It has been a pleasant 2007, well, at least for me. There were slight bumps along the way, but thankfully, they're not big boulders. I have the Lord to thank for that. Still, there are much to hope and pray for the the years to come.I would like to have a fresh start this new year's day. Letting go of the past is a very hard thing to do, especially for me. It's not just the events and the bitterness that have to be let go of, but also the bad habits, and all those kind of stuff. My resolutions list is something that I usually fish out of the junk drawer, years and years after

xocolatl and some random facts

I just got home a few hours ago. The trip was pretty good, well at least for me 'cause I fell asleep in the bus. It's raining here in Lipa and it's so cold, so I made a pot of hot chocolate.. yum! It's just too bad that there isn't any pandesal in the house so I'll just have to make-do with a loaf.Well, right now, there's nothing more perfect than being here at home and enjoying a cup of hot chocolate in the cold weather.Just some random facts :- "Hot chocolate" is a retronym and the drink was originally simply called "chocolate". The subsequent popularity of the "chocolate bar" forced the invention of the term "hot chocolate" to distinguish it from "chocolate" which now means solid chocolate.- Cocoa was given as a dowry when members of the Spanish Royal Family married other European aristoc

Trust is like a mirror. Once you've broken it, it's hard to put the pieces back together.- my momYup. So true. It's so hard when you break a mirror. First of all you have to check if you've been wounded. Then you have to pick up all the pieces on the floor. Once you've picked up all the pieces, somehow, you still try to put it back together. But still, when you break a mirror, there are those tiny crumbs of mirror left on the floor which you have to sweep away. Those gaps are almost impossible to fill. All you can see when you look in the mirror, is a broken and distorted reflection.Everything on this page, unless mentioned, are copyright of sweetfuzzyteddy (c) 2008.

Pacquiao defeats Marquez to win WBC title
2008-03-16 20:59:11
Sunday March 16, 1:51 PM Photo: ReutersLAS VEGAS (Reuters) - Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines knocked down Juan Manuel Marquez in the third round before going on to capture the WBC super featherweight championship by split decision on Saturday. Judges Duane Ford and Tom Miller scored the fight 115-112 and 114-113 respectively in favour of Pacquiao while Jerry Roth scored the bout 115-112 for Mexico's Marquez. The two men had previously fought in 2004, Marquez recovering from three first-round knockdowns to earn a draw. There were no such early fireworks in the rematch, as Marquez, 48-4-1 with 35 KOs, scored well with sharp counter-punches and a tight defence. However, in the third round, Pacquiao landed a right-left combination followe
