Lost 2 lbs.
2008-03-12 08:00:08
I lost 2 lbs. Not the greatest but not a gain. I didn't try my best these 2 weeks, I mostly did my own thing, a few deserts here and there and I didn't worry about the calorie intake. They, meaning trainers and physical physicians, says the first 1 week of dieting, you should have a goal set in your mind. Like for an example, loose 15 lbs. in one month or fit in those old jeans that you had for the longest time. Setting this goal will give you an reminder on why you are doing dieting in the first place and to keep on doing it. Right now, write you goal on a piece of paper and put it on the ice box or in your car. Place it somewhere that you will see it everyday and it will keep on reminding you and won't let you grab those donuts in the morning or go out for a fast restaurant cheese burger.

Breath in the Oxygen
2008-03-11 08:53:03
Try to get interest into plant life. Plants are our best air purifiers. They produce oxygen and eliminate volatile organic compounds. Most effective are indoor plant such as palms, English ivy, ficuses and peace lilies. Stay away from flower plants, they are fine to smell sweet perfumes but will give you a sneeze or two. Beside of plant life giving us oxygen, it also gives us energy from the sun light to heal our souls and bodies. However, plants can't produce glucose, carbohydrates and oxygen without light. To get through the night, most plants reverse the process of photosynthesis and breathe, like you and I, by burning carbohydrates and oxygen while producing carbon dioxide and water. So surround yourself with plants during the day, your work place or in the living room or kitchen. But r

The Biggest Loser DVD will be on every Tuesday and Thursday. And finally, the Yoga or the Tai Chi DVD on Saturday. Sunday is god day, a day off to relax.

Not a Good Day
2008-03-04 07:57:32
I'm not doing so good on my diet, once again. I don't know what I'm doing anymore. I just want bad food most of the time. I guess I am board of the lettuce, turkey, fruit and all other healthy foods that are out there that I'm eating. I want a juicy greasy hamburger from Wendy's or regular ice cream with all the chocolate chips and doughy cookie taste in it, along the sweet chocolate fudge. It could be the weather, we have been having with the sun, then the rain cold days and then the cold wet snow. It could the stress days from work. Working late nights and the long hours are draining me dry. I need a change in my life. To get out of the daily routine. I didn't get out this weekend that I wanted to, I didn't have time. I'm board and I'm putting food as a substitute as a change. I know bett

Weigh In - Ugh! Gain 4 lbs.
2008-02-27 08:55:16
I beginning to hate Wednesday weigh-ins. Due to the stress from work and the lack of sleep, I didn't do so good on my diet and weight. I gained 4 lbs. BUT I did go to my doctor's appt. this morning and in 2 months, I have dropped my cholesterol from 217 to 178. My diabetes drop from 7.5 to 7.0 which is good but not good enough (6.5 is the regular). My high blood pressure seems low but better than high (98 over 70).I think I will go away on a little weekend vacation to re-group and get some sleep from all the stress and lack of rest from the past 3 weeks. I'll probably sleep over at some hotel with a pool and gym to work out at and watch some TV "cable" and order some room service. Just maybe relax my body in some hot tub and hopefully that will do the trick and get back to my normal routin

Rough Day
2008-02-26 12:20:05
I had a rough day, yesterday. I just wanted to go back to bed and sleep the day away.Have you ever had those days, anything or anyone around you just arritate you? Something just tick me off, inside and I want to scream (I did it in my car during my lunch hour). But the screaming didn't work, I even went to the store to walk it off but no luck. I felt anger, upset, pissed off with the world and everything else around me. I didn't want to think about paying bills, my sugar level or even dieting. After work, I bought a chocolate brownie and large pizza, so I didn't have to worry about doing the dishes.I know it was a big mistake on buying the pizza and brownie, and I regret it of eating it. I threw away the bread of the pizza except 3 slices and the brownie, well, that was gone fast with a g

2008-02-21 10:39:18
Today, at work, someone brought in Wedding cookies, from pastry with icing to finger sugar lady-locks to brownie bars to chocolate candy. I don't know about you, but cookies/bars are my best nibbling snack friends. I love to have cookies with my hot tea in the morning, it's so gooood. But I have to be proud of myself, I didn't have one cookie or bar. Yeah! I mostly, just stayed out of the kitchen.Temptation in the work place is are to over come the snacking. Try to fill yourself with tea or water. Have your green tea or black tea to kill your appetite. Have a piece of sugar-free gum, something to chew in your mouth. Or even have those 100 calories bars (Hershey's or Kraft). Most of all, stay out of the kitchen. If you have to go in there like get water or you lunch from the ice box, just fo

Break
2008-02-19 07:44:40
I have been very tried, lately with work and life, itself. Last week, I worked a 10 hour shift and there was no lunch break or time to breath. I was lucky to get a chance to go to the bathroom. Everyone get those days at work when it comes to deadlines or even life with go shopping and getting chores done. Your head want to explode with all the pressure. Your body get so exhausted and leak that you just want to take a break of all duties. And that what I did. I put the scale, workout dvds, calories book and even the sports bra away for one week (well, maybe a week and half).I felt awful later because I went on the scale and saw that I gained 5 lbs. I don't feel good about it but I do feel a little better with less stress. I believe, it's OK to take a break to release the stress of pressure

What's up, doc? Not all vegetable are for the rabbit. Carrots are the top of the list of vegetables. They are a great source of Vitamin A for our eyes, arteries to our liver. Eating carrots increases the levels of red blood cells and protect against radiation. And one more thing about carrot, they are the source of protection against CANCER.Cooking carrots is a great side dish for your vegetable and a wonder snack. You can make puree of carrot to juice them and making pancakes. Also, you can eat the leaves on the carrots. It might be bitter tasting but the nutrition out of it, is better than the carrot itself. Though it is Valentine's day, today, still think out your heart. Have a fruit dessert rather than the creamy cheese cake. Have small amount of chocolate, it's better to drag your chocolate rather than eating half the box (less calories). Workout with your soul mate by walking in the city street and window shop. AUH...BEER! Believe it or not, beer has received good points on health benefits. Studies has shown drinking beer can lower risk of heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and osteoporosis. Also, it contains high levels of an ingredient which allows the deposit of calcium and other minerals into bone tissues.Just don't go over board, its still not a better choice in dieting. Count the calories on beer before you drink it.And to give you heads up, when it comes to how you feel the next day, beer is the gentler choice than wine. Resources link.

Cookie Jar
2008-03-19 07:57:20
I remember when I was eight or nine years old and I went to my grandma's house every weekend. I would come in her house, give her a great big hug and kisses and ran to the cookie jar in the kitchen. She would have homemade chocolate chip cookies to store bought. I didn't care what kind of cookies she had, I just remember the chocolate, chewy sugar flakes or the filled vanilla creme cookies. And the best part was I can have as many as I wanted. My grandma, Mary, always gave us what we wanted in sugar. My mom and dad would say, "Only have two" but my grandma would sneak and give us grand kids more. Those were the days.Today is different. Cookie s are bigger in size and bigger in calories. So, taking 3 or more cookies per serving is a large sum of calories and sugar that adds to our bigger hi
