Redirection gone bad
2008-03-09 23:41:42
A year ago I converted a blog from Blogger to WordPress. It was all good. As I try to redirect this blog, it is nothing but BAD. Last month, Google made it more difficult to redirect Blogger to new URLs. So, I am faced with trying to find a trustworthy fix. OR, I can hard code (change) [...]

It’s time to party!
2008-03-08 14:06:44
Hello and welcome! Grab a drink, pull up a chair and get comfy for the party at my place. I’m so glad you dropped by! I had a blast at last year’s Ultimate Blog Party, so I’m back again I’m in the process of migrating my blog, so please pardon the metaphorical “big cardboard boxes” [...]

New Blog Home!
2008-03-08 10:33:13
I’ve migrated my blog home from Blogger to hosted Wordpress! Please pardon the mess! I’m still working on the redirect… not sure if it’s very pretty yet. Other tweaks and fine tuning are keeping me quite confused busy too. I’m also going by a blogger pseudonym now. Dominique was the name I used in high school [...]

I love Sundays!
2008-03-02 23:01:00
In service this morning, our pastor shared a funny story that also gave me an “a-ha” moment and I had to blog about it 1) to remember it and 2) to share it and pay forward any other “a-ha” moments. Our pastor was raised in a “strict”, traditional Christian family where there was absolutely no alcohol [...]

It never rains in Southern California…
2008-03-02 14:25:00
Which is typically a good thing… unless you’ve spent the last four winter months training for a 26.2 mile race in the cold! Today, it is forecasted for 73 degrees in downtown L.A. where the annual marathon is taking place! Once again, my brother in law is running like he did 4 years ago. He’s done a [...]

Disconnected
2008-03-02 00:24:00
Last week, my husband’s company network went down - the same network that allows him to work from home. Without it, he can’t do any research, quotes or login to see the status of his clients. It was out for at least a day. Earlier this week, my work email went out for 24+ hours. The [...]

Disney - One Year Ago
2008-02-29 02:53:00
Last week’s storm system dropped a few feet of snow on our mountains and tomorrow’s forecast (in the valley) is for 74 degrees. We were thinking of going to the snow this weekend, but it might be too icy! My parents are back from Hawai’i, so we hope to meet up with them this weekend. Their [...]

When the moon hits your eyes
2008-02-21 22:33:00
Did you see last night’s total lunar eclipse? For us on the West Coast, it happened between 6 - 9 p.m. I took DS to the planetarium to see a show. After, the clouds parted in time for us to view the eclipse through the telescope. I wanted to take some photos, so we rushed [...]

Pray for Beth
1999-11-29 18:00:00
All morning, I couldn’t stop thinking about Beth and the two babies she was carrying. I was teary-eyed at work and left her a voice mail… not that any words could begin to soothe the sadness they must feel. If you get a chance to visit her and leave a message of encouragement, I know it [...]

Who has time to blog?!?
2008-03-12 00:13:22
With all the party hopping, I haven’t had a chance to post I am enjoying reading comments and visiting new bloggers. The past few days have been busy for us and our internet went down AGAIN, so it’s been a challenge to get online. I seriously cannot believe it is already March. Where did the [...]

Hi Friends! (The After Party)
2008-03-14 01:06:47
It’s been quite a week! Of all times for our ISP to “break”, it did. This week. The week of the Ultimate Blog Party . Don’t they realize I have blogs to visit? Comments to reply to? Partying to be done?!? Last night, when we DH called customer support, they did the usual… “Did you try unplugging and replugging [...]

It’s Time to Party (Part 2)
2008-03-08 23:47:34
It’s nearly midnight (DST) and I’m still in my pajamas! (Hey, it was a laundry day!) Seriously though, I’ve been trying to visit the bloggers who left comments on my party post and also visit a few new (and old) blogs from the Ultimate Blog Party . Since I started working, I really have not been able [...]

I Love Sundays! *Reflections*
2008-03-17 00:22:25
Yea! I’m home! We didn’t have a typical weekend… I was away at a women’s retreat and DH took the three kids camping on the coast. We’re all wiped out!!! Although we were separated , we each had a wonderful and special time at our destinations. When I arrived at the “ranch”, I was told it [...]

I Love Sundays!
2008-03-09 19:42:11
As we’re preparing for Easter, we’ve been studying characters in the Easter story in a series entitled “Close, but no cigar”. Today, we studied the two robbers We closed with this song which is a favorite of mine:   East To West - Casting Crowns Here I am Lord and I’m drowning, in Your sea of forgetfulness The chains [...]

It’s Spring Break!
2008-03-19 03:12:30
And, it’s 74 degrees out My campus is empty. This is a good thing as there is literally no traffic and tons of parking. It is a bad thing that they always do road work during breaks so I have to detour all the way around the campus and I always forget and have [...]

It’s a Boy!!!!
2008-03-22 01:06:53
No, not me, silly! DH’s older brother and wife are expecting #3 and they were so glad to hear ‘it’s a boy’ from the ultrasound tech. This will be the 8th grandchild on DH’s side and the 2nd boy. So far, Big Brother is the oldest grandchild and the only boy. He is so excited to [...]

TGIF! (If only it wasn’t the end of Spring Break!)
2008-03-22 00:59:25
Our campus was empty this week, but we were busy bees in our office! We are full swing into our spring event season and I’m stressing over coordinating a very large event next week. Over 650 invitations were sent out, but with the early break and Easter holiday our numbers will be low. It’s a bummer [...]

Drive through the mountains
2008-03-22 22:57:32
My family is so good to me. After being pent up inside at work all week, I really wanted to drive through the mountains to breathe some fresh air and let my inner-photographer free. So, after DH let me sleep in, we hopped in the car for a drive! The kids were a little frustrated until [...]

Photos from yesterday’s post
2008-03-29 02:13:08
View of the patio before we set up …before the gusts of 20mph I love flowers! We purchased a few fresh bouquets from Costco and made these small centerpieces. I didn’t major in underwater floral arranging, but it was still fun. It took me a few tries to figure out the measurements for the bows, but once I [...]

Coffee and Adrenalin
2008-03-27 22:08:58
I’m so glad tomorrow is Friday… I’m exhausted and sore. My event went very well. We had to go with Plan B C at the last minute because strong 20 mph gusts turned the walkway into a wind tunnel. We originally planned to have display tables there, but they were flipping over. I was sweating in [...]

Big Day
2008-03-26 01:21:00
Big day tomorrow at work. I have my first full-scale event! (Meaning invites were sent to our largest mailing list.) Of the 700 invitations sent, we’re only expecting 150 people, which is bigger than last year. I worked late tonight, like all last week, to make the floral centerpiece arrangements for the cocktail tables. I think I’m [...]

Back to work…
2008-04-01 01:24:49
Ahhh… the lazy days (daze?) of a three day weekend come to an end tonight. I had so many plans and to do lists. But, still too much for a three day weekend. I think I over-scheduled myself. I didn’t get the weeding in the front yard flower beds done. I didn’t get all the laundry done. (In [...]
