5 Romantic Tips For Guys — Post-Valentine's Day 2007-02-15 22:02:01 Attention Men
Okay guys, this one is for you.
Slightly off topic from “personal training”, but it may get all of us some more fitness in the bedroom. Besides I think this one is really important for all of my ladies out there who work hard getting fit and sexy for their husbands and boyfriends to get little RROI (romance return on investment).
Sad, But True Story
Last night, on Valentine
’s Day, my fiance took me out for a romantic dinner at my favorite, Italian restaurant here in Toronto “Grazie“, the best fresh made pasta and sauces… great service also.
Seated at the table next to us was an attractive young woman (”poor girl”), her parents and “him” . My heart goes out to this “poor girl” because so many women have to deal with the lack of romance that I am about to describe.
At one point during their meal this guy got up from the table and said “I’m going to the bathroom. ”
About 5 minutes o
Fitness Controversy - Diet vs. Exercise for Weight Loss 2007-02-06 11:30:11 I was just reading the blog of a mentor of mine, fitness expert and bodybuilder Tom Venuto. Tom is the author of the book “Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle” which I personally regard as the bible of how to eat properly in order to effectively lose weight and keep it off.
Tom has commented on the new controversy stating that diet is just as effective for weight loss as exercise. However, Tom, and I as well, do NOT agree that it is the most effective means of keeping weight off in the long term. For lasting results exercise and proper nutrition combined are always the most effective method.

Doesn't Matter For Weight
Loss'… So Now What?"

Top 5 Excuses About Investing in a Toronto Personal Trainer 2007-01-24 20:50:33 #1. I don’t have the time.
I hear people saying this all the time. While time is of the essence in life, your health is too. We only have one body and one life to take care of it. Putting off beginning your exercise program is another day lost, and perhaps 2 days if you consider how you can extend your life through good health and fitness. There is a great quote I once heard, "Those who don't make time for health will have to make time for sickness" Don't waste any more time, there's no time like the present to find a Toronto
personal trainer and start working on your health.
#2. I can’t afford it.
Now here is a good concern. Personal
training (Toronto) can be pricey. However at SkyHigh Fitness we have a variety of packages to suit everyone's needs and budget as well as flexible payment options. We really want to help you reach your goals and are doing our best to make that possible for you. Alternatively, health care is expensive in our later years Read more:Excuses

The Wii Fitness Plan?! Come On People - Really!!! 2007-01-18 21:33:44 Ok, so here’s the scoop. You all know the new Nintendo game console called Wii
. The one that you move and your character moves? Cool right? Well, the new hype on the net is that some guy lost 9 pounds just playing Wii and they are calling it a new fitness plan. COME ON!!!
Here’s his story found at the blog site Infendo :
“I outlined a 6 week game plan for myself, the idea being that I would continue ALL normal activity and eating habits, and simply add 30 minutes of Wii Sports to my day. For the past month and a half, I've stuck to these guidelines very strictly […] To be honest, I was genuinely surprised by my end results, so I'll just get right to it. I lost 9lbs!”
Okay, Let's Just Think About This For A Second
I can kinda understand the benefits of being active while game playing, I mean it sure beats sitting on your butt and exercising your thumbs. However, it is NOT a fitness program. There is no element of resistance training, no nutri
Have You Stuck With Your New Year's Resolution to Get Fit? 2007-01-16 22:32:32 January is almost over and already you begin to see people falling off the wagon with their workout routines. Five days a week is quickly turning into three and soon the average resolution setter will have long disappeared leaving the gym crowd-free once again.
Many of these people are lacking one simple element of motivation. They don’t have a strong enough reason WHY they want to lose the weight or get in shape. There is nothing to keep them going, there are no clearly defined benefits to continuing to go to the gym.
Do you have a strong enough why??
I recommend that you write out a list of at least 25 reasons why you want to stick with your workout routine and post it somewhere that you can see it.
Check out this great list I found for women, 25 Reasons to Workout:
1. It increases your self-confidence and self esteem. Look your best.
2. It helps you sleep better.
3. Improves your body shape.
4. Adds a sparkle and radiance to your complexion.
5. Gives you more energy.

Have You Heard of the Two-Man Bench Press? 2007-01-07 11:47:44 What do you call this?
The Two Man Bench
-Press
- one man presses while the other deadlifts and screams ‘it’s all you man!’
A joke, but I see this every day in my gym or while I am training my clients. And the point is that your friend may think they are trying to help you or doing you a service. The truth is that they are not a personal trainer and they are encouraging improper form as well as risking your injury and the injury of themselves.
I offer a partner-up discount with all of my personal training programs that can allow you and your workout partner to enjoy the benefits of trianing with a friend while learning proper form and technique that you can take back to the gym with you and use while training together.
You can sign up or request more information at the SkyHigh Fitness website.

What's Your Body Blueprint for 2007? How to Set Your Resolutions in Motion. 2007-01-03 10:55:23 Well, it is that time of year again when people everywhere tell themselves that “this year, I really will lose weight.” Of course, most of them said that last year as well.
That does not mean you can’t finally lose that weight this year though. What it means is you need to do it for the right reasons and with the right motivation. One way to do this is to write out your 2007 Body Blueprint
.
Body Blueprint:
Laying the Foundation for your Ultimate Physique
Have you been exercising for years and still haven’t reached your ultimate physique?
We often tend to jump into a workout program without first laying out a blueprint for success. An architect would never allow contractors throw together a building without first planning each and every step along the way. They always know the materials and tools that are required in the construction, and most importantly, they know exactly what the building will look like when they are finished, in every intimate detail.

6 Simple Steps to Increase Your Results Using Food 2006-12-23 04:57:46 Diet (nutrition) is worth 80% of you success in your exercise program. If you are not eating properly your results will be drastically slowed if not reversed. We have control over every bite of food that passes through our lips and we need to be sure that we are making the right nutrition choices in order to get the most out of our bodies.
I want to clarify that dieting does not equal starving yourself. Not eating enough food is just as bad as eating too much food, if not worse. If we aren't eating enough food our bodies begin to break-down muscle tissue, or store every ounce of fat that it can because it thinks we are starving. This will eliminate all the time and hard work you are putting in at the gym, and you know you don't want to be going through that for nothing.
In order to increase the success of your exercise program and your fat loss there are 6 simple steps you can take to boost your metabolism and keep your body burning fat as efficiently as possible.

6 Tips to Help You Stay On Track Over The Holidays 2006-12-20 09:15:21 With the holiday season comes parties, dinners, baking and usually some extra pounds. Try using these 5 tips for healthy holiday eating and keep your fitness goals on track.
ONE — Never go to a party hungry
When we are hungry we tend to eat faster and consume more of Mom's oh so yummy shortbread cookies. Consider having a healthy snack or light meal before you go out to a party to curb those cravings and help prevent bingeing
TWO - Portion Control, Portion Control, Portion Control
As with everything moderation is always important. It's a special time of year, don't deprive yourself but treat yourself to a nice drink or dessert without feeling guilty but select a smaller portion size. And for goodness sake skip the second and third helpings.
THREE - Try other versions of alcohol
Instead of beer, Bailey’s and Kahlua, try a dry wine, Bloody Mary or
spirit. Use diet soda's to mix for fewer calories. Again moderation is key. Alcohol slows the metabolism s Read more:Track

Cleansing - A Great Start To A Weight Loss Program 2007-02-28 20:10:49 We are a toxic society!
Due to the advent of fast food the average person’s diet and lifestyle has gone downhill. Our bodies tend to accumulate and hold on to a lot of toxins in our system. Our body simply cannot get rid of all of the crap that we are putting into it. As a result our body tends to store these excess toxins in our fat cells.
As explained on BodyBuilding.com’s article “9 Sure Fire Ways to Gain Fat”
“Your body’s reaction to a toxic substance is simple: protection. There are two primary ways the body does this. First, it tries to flush the toxins out. If that fails, it will try to lock the toxins away.
Think about it this way - what do nuclear power plants do with radioactive waste? They seal it in concrete and bury it. This is essentially the same thing your body does with toxins that you ingest. If it can’t get rid of them, it seals them up in fat cells and locks them away.”
Because our body locks away these toxins in our Read more:Great

How Smart Are Fitness Buffs? 2007-03-20 01:35:16 .
Is It Possible To Combine Both Brains And Braun?
If anyone was able to tune in to CBC’c “Test the Nation” IQ test last night you might find the answer rather intriguing.
.
What Is “Test The Nation”?
Test the Nation is a nationwide (Canada) IQ test that was broadcast live in a gameshow style last night and I was on it!
The show brought together teams from 6 different walks of life or professions to see who was the smartest. The teams were Fitness Instructors, Millionaires, Radio DJ’s, Surgeons, Mayors and Tatoo Artists.
60 Questions were asked of the teams in an IQ test format while individuals could also participate at home. At the end the results were tabulated and we all found out who was the smartest group in the room.
.
So, How Smart
ARE Fitness Buffs?
Well, it must be the increased blood flow to our brains but we placed a close 3rd, right behind millionaires and surgeons. Pretty good, eh? I mean, I always knew we were pretty clever, bu

How To Get Rid Of Those Last Few Pounds…. 2007-05-02 20:30:19 Stefanie Asked:
“I am in pretty good shape, but I still have about 8 lbs of fat that
just won’t come off - especially around the waist, unattractive
back-fat and thighs. I do an intense cardio work-out 3 times a week
(usually 40 minutes of swimming, biking or running) and do a weight
workout 2ce a week.
I don’t have that much time to work out, so I was wondering what the
single best thing I can do to get rid of that fat. Is it increasing
the intensity of the cardio, length of it or adding more workouts to
the week? I want my flat bikini tummy back for the summer! Love your
blog and would really like to pick your brain on this one!”
Great question Stefanie.
.
What can you do to get rid of stubborn fat or those last few pounds?
This is often the most frustrating thing for active and fit people, those last few pounds that just won’t come off!!!
I have to say Stefanie, I have struggled with this myself in the past, namely when I was getting ready for competi Read more:Pounds
