NAVY VETERAN FLYS HIS PLANE TO AVOID TRAFFIC 2008-03-06 14:31:00 In Illinois last Saturday, a 65 year-old Navy veteran flew his son to a tennis match to avoid 45 minutes of traffic. Kadera, a former electrical engineer, was driving his 14 year-old son, Isaac, to a tennis match when they got into deep traffic and couldn‘t move. Kadera thought about what he could do and came up with another way to arrive at the match…fly. He had 1949 Piper Clipper, since he was once part of the Navy with 40 years of flying experience, and decided that it would be a convenient way to get to the area, fast. The only problem with that idea was that he had to land, illegally at the golf course, their final destination. As they were just arriving, local authorities stopped the father and son, telling them to land immediately. It was definitely a difficult landing, circling

Just last season, Favre broke Dan Marino‘s career record or most yards in passing and John Elway’s record for most career victories. DARUSSUFAKA BEATS THE #2 TEAM IN THE TURKISH LEAGUE 2008-03-01 12:45:00 Today in Turkey, its another Saturday and Darussafaka, the basketball team my dad plays on, are going up against the #2 team in the Turkish league, Galatasaray. The star player of Galatasaray, Dee Brown, and another important American power-forward sat out this game which gave us the better chance of a win. I say that because Darussafaka wouldn’t have a chance without my dad, Eric Chatfield and our other American players. At the start of the game, we played our style of basketball and looked like professionals. We were playing good defense, taking a good selection of shots, and playing like a team. Galatasaray, on the other hand, weren’t playing too well and literally couldn’t make a single bucket. It seemed as if their basket had an invisible lid covering the rim so the ball couldn

SHAQ OFFICIALLY TRADED TO PHOENIX SUNS 2008-02-09 15:54:00 Last Thursday, Shaquille O’Neal was officially traded to the fast-pace, speedy Phoenix Suns. The 7 Foot 1 Center used to play on the Miami Heat, the team with the worst record in the NBA this year, who have lost 19 of their last 20 games. Shaq is now preparing to team up with Steve Nash, one of the best point guards in the NBA, and the Phoenix Suns with the best record in the Western Conference. Over he last few days, many people have criticized O’Neal, saying he is both to old and too slow to handle the fast-pace Phoenix Suns. I think this could be true, but I also say that as long as he’s in shape by playoff weekend, they could have a shot at the Finals. I believe there is a chance Shaquille O’Neal could help the Suns to get over the hump and win the NBA Championship, but they m
THE WRITERS STRIKE OF AMERICA...ENDING? 2008-02-08 15:36:00 Starting tomorrow, there is a great chance that all of our favorite TV shows will come back onto air and the writers strike will end. The 10,500 members of the Writers Guild of America are scheduled to get together Saturday in both Los Angeles and New York so that union leaders can propose a fair contract to get this strike handled. Just to give you a brief flashback, the strike first started on November 5th when the Writers of America walked out because when their written TV shows began to show up on the net or on DVD, and they weren’t getting paid and had a problem not getting paid. The strike has been going on for over 15 weeks now, and our favorite shows have stopped in their places. If the proposal goes through ok, the Writers Guild of America could be back with their jobs by Monday

The man, Michael Chaffer, was the girls mothers boyfriend, a rare case that you would here about anywhere the world. The child was born in November, and is now settled and taken care of at a foster home. The 11 year-old mother, whose name wont be released, is currently living with relatives, away from the memories of the incident. She is allowed to visit the foster home supervised only twice a week, but is unable to care for the child. In the state of Ohio, to have sex with someone under the age of 13 is considered rape and could lead to life in prison. I think this case is very rare and unlikely to ever happen and I am shocked that something like this would even happen. Its make me think, “What’s go

NEW YORK GIANTS UPSET THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS AND WIN SUPERBOWL XLII 2008-02-04 13:48:00 Yesterday in Arizona, the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots for Super Bowl XLII. This was probably one of the biggest upsets in Superbowl history, because the Patriots had a record of (18-1) and hadn’t tasted defeat in more than one year. All throughout the game, the Giants gave the Patriots a taste of their unstoppable defense and the remarkable comeback with 35 seconds on the clock. Tom Brady, who was the NFL’s most valuable player and won his first three Super Bowl’s, was sacked over five times, and at one point was on his knees with his hands on his hips. Eli Manning made the winning 13-yard pass to Plaxico Buress, who hadn’t practiced all week because of injuries, to win the Bowl. This gave the Giants their 11th straight victory on the road, and what they all

NO INTERNET IN MOST OF ASIA AND THE MIDDLE EAST 2008-01-31 13:26:00 In Turkey and most parts of Asia and the Middle East, an internet failure has kept most of the people, including my family, in these continents from accessing both the internet and phone services. Lately, my family and I have had problems with both the internet and the phone because of our modem. Many major telecommunication providers blamed the situation on a major cable failure. The DU, a state-owned Dubai telecom provider, said the cause of the critical outrage was that an undersea cable was cut in the Mediterranean Sea between Egypt and Italy. Surprisingly, none of the flight schedules or flights were cancelled, definitely in the country Dubai. Even though this was a critical moment for most of Europe, the days without internet finally and thankfully ended today in the afternoon. the r

Just before dawn Jamiel Shaw Jr., a running-back at Los Angeles High School, was arriving home when a Hispanic gang came up to him and asked him, “Are you in a gang?” Shaw didn’t even have a chance to answer the question just before he was brought down to the ground. Jamiel Shaw Sr. heard the gunshots outside, and quickly called his son to tell him to stay away from the area, and seconds later realized what had happened. His son was laying on the ground not to far from home, dead. Shaw Sr. stated that he just blacked out for three hours, walking around not k
