Phil Kessel
1970-01-01 00:59:59
So Thursday night Phil Kessel got the winning shootout goal to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night. The final score was 5-4 Boston. This kid is amazing...he got testicular cancer...had surgery...and is back less than a month after it. I mean honestsly...that's insane...and he is playing well. Since he has been back he has appeared in 6 games...and has 2 goals and an assist...and then the game winning shootout goal. Such a great story.Another game that I don't want to spend a lot of time talking about that happened on Thursday was the Jackets vs Preds....my Jackets lost...4-0...they were shutout for the 11th time this season...I hate the Preds. So I'm done talking about this game. Then my last game from Thursday night is the Anaheim Ducks vs the Edmonton Oilers...Oilers won 4-1. I am really proud of the Oilers for winning this game. It was an impressive win for them. I personally didn't get to watch it...but from what I read and heard it was pretty brutal. There

The All Star Game
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Are you freakin kidding me?! So I broke down and actually watched the first 2 periods of probably the most boring hockey I have ever seen…and trust me I have seen some pretty boring hockey. Well let's start with Briere…he had 4 assists and one goal…pretty good for the little guy. Then there is Rick Nash…a personal favourite. With 2 goals…and 2 assists…proving to everyone that…yes there is hope for the Blue Jackets. The West Wins with a final score 12-9!!! Yeah that's right the Western Conference whipped up on the seemingly offensive minded Eastern Conference. Thank God. Luckily well for me at least Sidney Crosby did not get a point…not one point!! Thus proving…he sucks…and I hate him. Well he proved he sucks…I mean honestly there were 21 points scored…9 on his team…and he didn't even have a piece of one. YAY!! I am one happy girl. And one thing that shocked me the most was that my beloved Alexander Ovechkin only got one point. Thus provin

Ken Dryen
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Dryden's number was retired. And Montreal got a win. I'm watching the Jackets game so thats all for now...I promise I will write more later. Ole...got hurt but is back...thank the Lord....gooooo Jackets!!

I hate Tootoo....
1970-01-01 00:59:59
This picture makes me happy...so I guess that's good. I'm watching the final minutes of the Blue Jackets Preds games....and I am sad...I just hope that they score so we don't get shut out but Mason is hot right now...and basically Conklin doesn't have enough experience :( I still love my team...anyway that's all I really have to say today. Oh and I love Jody Shelley...he is so funny to watch.

Ok I have a lot to say...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
So here we go...I just wanted to have the complete "all star" roster on here....cuz I said I would and I would talk about it. Eastern Conference:Goal: Martin Brodeur New Jersey Cristobal Huet MontrealDefense: Jay Bouwmeester Florida Zdeno Chara Boston Tomas Kaberle Toronto Brian Rafalski New JerseyForward: Jason Blake New York Islanders Simon Gagne Philadelphia Dany Heatley Ottawa Marian Hossa Atlanta Vincent Lecavalier Tampa Bay Martin St. Louis Tampa Bay Brendan Shanahan New York Rangers Eric Staal Carolina Justin Williams CarolinaI feel alright about the Eastern Conference fillers....I love Brodeur like I said yesterday...and Huet is decent. On Defense it looks good to me. I love the fact that Jason Blake and Sidney Crosby will be on the same team....hah

Why you have be mad?
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I mean honestly do they get much cuter than that? You have to love goalies. So today I am heading up to Columbus to cheer on the Blue Jackets as they take on the Nashville Predators...*probably my least favorite team in the league* Should be a decent game though. Last night the Cincinnati Cyclones took on the Toledo Storm in a marvelous game...full of power plays and stupid penalties and dumb refs. I don't know if any of you were there but man...those refs got on my last nerve. The boys were wonderful...I do have to kind of wonder though why has Mullally not been playing...he's a great player...sure he may not be an offensive defensemen but he is a very good stay at home dman I think. Oh well...maybe I'm just bias.Anyway this is my first post so I'm not too sure what to write....so I will cut this off and post more when I get home!! Maybe I'll toss up some pictures as well. ALSO....it's Hockey Day in Canada...so happy hockey day

Man I hate the Preds...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Well unfortunately it was another loss for my Jackets last night. I'm pretty upset about this because I hate the Preds with a passion and everytime Jordin Tootoo steps foot on the ice I get sick to my stomach. Last night was a great game...considering we were without Leclair...Nash...Foote...Shelley...Fedorov...Westcott...and Svitov....yes most of our first line/penalty killers/power play boys were out. Anyway I was really shocked by how well we did. Unfortunately our goalies were having a bad night and Mr. Mason was having a great night despite having no help from his defensemen. We were able to get 40 shots on goal and he stopped 39 of them...on the other side of that The Preds had 17 shots on goal (12 with Norrena and 5 with Conklin) and they were able to get 4 shots in. I really think that the problem was we weren't hunting for those rebounds and loose pucks like we should have been. I had a great time at the game last night...in my opinion our younger guys really stepped

Peter Budaj
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Wow, I had never seen this kid play before...but on Monday I watched the San Jose Sharks take on the Colorado Avs....and I have to say that I was so impressed with this kid. I tend to watch goalies more than any other players simply because in my opinion they are the most important guys on the ice. Anyway out of 42 shots on goal he only let in 3...and against the Sharks I'd have to say that's pretty impressive. Anyway so he is my player of the week...haha. If anyone doesn't know the Avs lost this game 3-1. But, they did name Budaj 2nd star of the night which I thought was great...because he made some amazing saves.Oh, and I just want to talk about the NHL "All Star" game. They have announced the complete rosters. Eastern Conference the starters are:Goal: Ryan Miller BuffaloDefense: Brian Campbell BuffaloDefense: Sheldon Souray MontrealForward: Alexander Ovechkin WashingtonForward: Daniel Briere BuffaloForward: Sidney Crosby PittsburghThe only thing I have to say a

Congrats to Jagr

Where oh where is Forsberg going?!
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Forsberg ...has been the topic of trade rumors recently...and now I see why. I am not going to lie I had never seen him play. But, tonight I watched as he and the last place Flyers took on the Detroit Red Wings...and was quite impressed. Now, I could make excuses saying the reason why Detroit lost was because MacDonald was in net but I'm not going to. The Flyers deserved to win that game. The Flyers had a two power play goals...which I think is amazing. I am thoroughly impressed with the Flyers. It seemed to me in this game at least that the NHL's worst team had some great plays that I saw develop wonderfully. And, that was just from me sitting on the couch watching it on tv I couldn't imagine being there. The game was full of hits...well maybe not full of them but they were definitely quite a few hard hits. I was amazed. My mom said at the start of the game well I think Detroit is going to just beat up on the Flyers and to be honest that's what I expected as well. The

The Ducks Could Not Buy a Goal
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Pretty much thanks to Peter Budaj. He was like a brick wall last night. I have talked about him before but I'm pretty sure he was channeling his inner Martin Brodeur. It was absolutely incredible. The Ducks were short handed and they kept throwing shot after shot after shot at him and he stopped everything. I absolutely could not believe it. The Ducks I do believe need to step it up a notch it seems they have just been coasting along. And, the line juggling needs to stop. It's almost playoff time...don't juggle your lines now. Although, I will say this I was happy to see Penner on a line with Getzlaf and Perry...at least for the first period...haha.I was shocked with the way Teemu reacted when the ref made a bad call when the puck was backhanded off the ice and into the stands. I know the guys chirp at the refs and yell and what not. But, Teemu seemed genuinly outraged and kept yelling at the ref and eventually was sent to the locker room. I could not believe it. Teemu

Dallas Stars vs. Colorado Avalanche
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Diving Mr. Hull?? Right now it's the intermission report and Brett Hull is talking about diving...kinda funny....I bet he saw this video of Mr. Avery...or one of Crosby's many dives from this season. I think this is so weird they're just on the ice talking about different angles. I am liking the coverage that NBC is doing. Let's just hope it helps out American's watching hockey. Anyway after the first period it's 3-1 Dallas . Dallas scored the first 3 on 13 shots. Avs are starting out the second period on the power play and weren't able to capitalize. And the Avs put in Theodore and the Stars put in Smith...this is crazy...with all the goal tending changes...it's becoming a bit of a score fest....now it's getting interesting. Alright, the final score was 7-5 Dallas. The third period was decent but Dallas was taking too many stupid penalties. So way to go Dallas. And, the Jackets lost 5-4...sheesh...I try to be a good fan but sometimes they don't make it easy. I hate

NHL On NBC
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Well it has been nearly a week since I have seen any hockey games...and I'm quite excited to see the Avs take on the Stars tonight. It will be the first game I get to watch on NBC as well so I am very anxious to see how they cover it. I was hoping to see my Jackets take on Chicago but I will live. I will write more tonight with my opinion on it and probably go on about more stuff because I have a lot to say about recent trades and trade rumors. And another thing I really need to work on my site tonight so if you have any ideas please please tell me.

Martin Brodeur
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I absolutely LOVE this video...I mean at the end he is so excited and smiling and laughing he doesn't know what to do with himself. Anyway just thought I would throw this up.

A bit about me...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I'm 21 and got into hockey the year of the lockout by going to the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks (AHL) games. That year we had guys like Dustin Penner, Joffrey Lupul, Ryan Getzlaf, Shane O'Brien, and Ilya Bryzgalov. I started really getting into the game and started learning everything I could. Now, it's become quite the obsession...I go to as many games as possible and watch as many games on the tv as I can. I am constantly trying to learn more about the game. My favorite goalie is Martin Brodeur.Favorite overall player is Steve Yzerman.Favorite team is Columbus Blue Jackets.Favorite player currently playing is Saku Koivu.I'm not really sure what else to say...so I will go to bed and will write more tommorow.

Ok my Stanley Cup predictions
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I just thought I would put on here who I think is going to be in the Stanley Cup Finals...I think it's going to be the New Jersey Devils and the San Jose Sharks....with the Sharks winning it in game 7....there ya go...that's all really...I just wanted to put it down so if it happens I can be like...told ya so haha....I really need to write on here but I am tired and have to work tommorow. Gnight all!

Why the Preds, Peter...why?!
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Anyone who knows me...or who reads this blog knows how much I hate the Preds. So it shouldn't come as a shock to you that I'm not a fan of this trade one bit. Granted that yes in future years it will help the Flyers...and having Forsberg on their line up will help the Preds. I really feel bad for the Flyers team as a whole though. They lost their captain...pretty much the heart and soul of their team. (I say that because the Flyers have yet to win a game without Peter Forsberg in the line up) I feel bad for the fans. I heard a trade rumor that Adam Foote could leave Columbus and I was just heartbroken. The guy on the ice that wears the C wears it for a reason. He is the leader. Congrats to Nashville on the trade...however I think they gave up too much...Scottie Upshall, Ryan Parent, a FIRST round draft pick, and a third round draft pick. Seems like a little much for a rental player...who you have no guarantee that the man is playing at his full potential. They are throw

Steady Freddy...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
I really and truly do not understand why can we play amazing against the best teams in the NHL...and when we play not so good teams...we just break down, and lose. Fredrik Norrena was amazing in net tonight. Stopping all 29 shots he faced from the Sharks. This was such a great game. Lots of hits…not a lot of fights…but a little necessary roughness. Rick Nash played outstanding…in my

If the playoffs started today...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
If they playofffs started today for the Eastern Conference you would have: 1. Buffalo 2. New Jersey 3. Tampa Bay 4. Pittsburgh 5. Ottawa 6. Atlanta 7. Carolina 8. Toronto *yeah the Leafs....weird* And, for the Western Conference: 1. Detroit 2. Anaheim 3. Vancouver 4. Nashville 5. San Jose 6. Dallas 7. Minnesota 8. Calgary Ok so I don't really know what to write about but I

No worries Habs fans...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Ok...well it was for sure an interesting game...living in Northern Kentucky I don't get to see the Habs play too often...although I am a fan of the team and in all honesty they are my favorite Canadian team. Anyway I was pleasantly surprised with the way they were playing. Man can they ever hit. My mom and I were watching and she's not the biggest hockey fan in the world and she's like man

Upshall > Forsberg??
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Well if you'd have to go by the first 2 games that these guys played in you would probably think so. Upshall in his first 2 games with Philadelphia has 3 points (2 goals and 1 assist) and Mr. Peter Forsberg has well a goose egg. Alright, I watched the Philadelphia vs Boston game tonight on Versus and it was quite entertaining...this rivalry certainly is still going strong today. Everyone

Do I want to vent?!
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Yes...but do I have time...not at the moment. Do I want to vent about dumb refs? Yup sure do. Do I want to vent about how bad our shoot out guys are? Yup. Ok so that is a little bit of a preview for tonight's post. Have a great day everyone....and here's a little something to watch while you wait ever so patiently for me to get home and write a post...

Cuz I got the Blues...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Well, unfortunately my Jackets lost another game...to the Blue's. But luckily...it was because of a shoot out. It was a pretty decent game from what I saw at least...which what I saw was the third period and the overtime and shoot out. And, well let me start with the third period. Going into the third period Columbus had a 3-2 lead on the Blues . Then we started getting into some penalty

Me and Sean Avery aren't friends...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
Ok first of all I hate when people hit the goalies...there are just some things you don't do that's one of them. I already hate Sean Avery but now I hate him even more...look what he did to my poor Brodeur. Anyway thought I would throw this up so everyone could see...

Fredrik Norrena > Pascal Leclaire
1970-01-01 00:59:59
If I see that Leclaire is injured one more time this season...I am going to freak out. I have never seen the kid play an entire game...and well frankly I don't know that I want to. Norrena has proven to be a more than confident goalie for us (yes I realize we lost 4-0 tonight...but I will get to that later) he just struggles on one on one situations...which he CAN improve on...BUT at least he's

Oh goodness...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
So sorry I didn't post anything last night...I was sick...and today's post isn't going to be really good because I'm going to post after the game tonight. Anyway random news...Anson Carter got traded to the Hurricanes...he's a travelin man. Sturm signed with the Bruins...good for him. Oh and tonight is the re-match for the Sens and Sabres...can't wait to see how this one turns out.

Sweet Sweet Victory...
1970-01-01 00:59:59
You'll have to bare with me I am blogging while I watch the game. Well the first 10 minutes of the hockey game was dominated by the Rangers…in fact when they had 2 goals and 6 shots on goal…we didn't have any shots on goal. I guess Hitch made a comment because we started getting things going. Shelley got into a fight with Orr and it was quite the heavy weight match up. But, in the end they
