Bosch to infuse Rs 4 bn in India in 2008 lot of it in Nashik

Bosch, has lined up Rs 4 billion expansion plan in 2008 in India , reports Business Standard.This is part of the company`s ongoing investment program for the country. Of the total, Rs 1.10 billion will be invested in Bangalore plant including research and development activities; while the balance will be invested in its other plants at Nashik, Naganathapura and Jaipur.During 2005, Bosch, the Indian subsidiary of the Germany-based global automotive products major Bosch Group announced to invest Rs 18 billion in the country spread over four years ending 2008. However, the parent company announced an additional investment Rs 8.50 billion to take the total investment in India to Rs 26.50 billion by 2010, in December last year. The much-awaited Pune-Nashik train will finally be inaugurated this month. Moreover, commuters on the Pune-Lonavla section have another reason to rejoice as six new rakes will be made available by August this year to increase the frequency of local trains. The Pune-Nashik train will run via the Karjat-Panvel route. "We have to start the train before March 31. We have intimated the authorities in Delhi regarding this," said Sowmya Raghavan, Central Railways general manager, at a press conference on Monday. The announcement about the introduction of the train was made by railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in the railway budget in February 2007. Nasik (PTI): The people in the city continued to reel under a severe cold wave conditions with the temperature dipping to a chilling 3.5 degrees Celsius, minimum in the state, the Met office said on Sunday. The city has been witnessing a chilly weather following cold waves in north and the situation will remain the same for couple of days more, they added.

After some relief for a few days from cold weather Nashik temperature dropped again. Nasik city continued to reel under cold wave conditions with temperatures dipping to a chilling 5.8 degree celsuius, Met officials said on Wednesday. The lowest temperature of the season was recorded on Tuesday, they said adding the mercury levels in nearby Malegaon dipped to 8 degrees while Jalgaon remained cold at 6 degree celsius. Besides, the grape cultivators have been asked to adopt special measures to prevent the fruit from the chilly weather.

Extensive damage to two undersea cables, by a ship trying to anchor on the coasts has thrown Internet activity across large parts of India , Asia and the Middle East, out of gear.As per sources, a ship trying to anchor off Egypt's Alexandria coast cut through the Indian-owned FLAG and also the SEA-ME-WE cable on Wednesday, leading to an unprecedented disruption in international connectivity."The repair will take another 15-20 days," Internet Service Providers Association of India president Rajesh Chharia said. Although repair teams have been rushed to the Egyptian coast to fix the cut problem and a 'low grade' service will most likely be activated soon.

Aditya Birla Retail Limited (ABRL), the retail arm of Aditya Birla Group, is planning to open 17 supermarket stores under its ‘More’ brand in Nashik by the end of the current calendar year. The company, at present, has three supermarket stores in the city.“Nashik has emerged as one of the fastest growing cities. Soon the country's wine capital Nashik will be closer to Mumbai. The Centre has approved the plan to wind the 12-lane Mumbai-Agra highway through Nashik. This will reduce travel time between the two cities by nearly two hours.
