Lervik Design 2008-03-21 08:03:00 Sense light swing made from plastic with fibre optic lighting inserted. On a dark summer night the swing creates a spectacular light show that lights up a whole garden in the most beautiful way. The swing was originally shown in the “Five playful chairs” exhibition in 2005 and has been a huge success around the globe. This is very cool, the only problem would be if you used this at night wouldn't you attract a lot of bugs to you. I guess make sure you have your bug spray handy or citronella candles out.via pan-dan

Fun ad by advertising agency The Jupiter Drawing Room out of Johannesburg, South Africa and creative director Thomas Cullinan. Pretty well done ads that get their point across in a fun new way, that I wouldn't have thought to associate with eggs of all things. Come on who is going to put together horror film villains and eggs, but it seems to work.

Frozen 2008-03-25 10:08:00 This prank happened back in January but this is the first I have seen of it, and it is very cool. I just love the reactions of the onlookers and especially the guy driving the cart, he is awesome. This is a prank on a "grand" scale. Over 200 people gathered at Grand Central Station in New York to pull off a 'frozen in place' act. Simplified 2008-03-24 09:21:00 Really nice ads from the advertising agency Liwa Advertising out of Dubai, UAE and creative directors Vijay Kumar and Suhas Rege. The visual of the tangled up complex strings/ribbons on the left of the ad versus the simple shape on the right works very well. Plus the furniture is beautiful so that is always great.

Sweet Tutorial 2008-04-01 09:37:00 PSDTuts has an awesome tutorial on creating a vector composite effect from a photo. This effect is very reminiscent of Alberto Seveso's work. The one above is what I came up with this morning while going through it very quickly. This is a effect that I will definitely be using again when I have some serious time to sit down and design. The tutorial says to just use some pre-made vectors that are out there, but it would look a lot better if you created your own vectors that flowed with whatever picture you were working with.
