Off to bangalore for some time now 2008-02-19 09:56:00 Aye yo people. I’m happy. I’m gay. I just uploaded my new typo theme and now bishtblogs is running smoothly on rails. I happened to notice some changes with the rails or with my host, something that has led to my weblog running pretty damn fast. I always wondered whether any rails app runs smoothly on a shared hosting environment, but this time it seems (with rails 2.0) that it can. I have still not really gone into the stats (my logs et all), but for the naked eye, it seems that everything is up and running fine.
I still have not integrated my photoblog module with Typo, and I guess I won’t be able to do so for the coming week or two, since I’m off to bangalore tomorrow to meet some people. For the moment the area right under the left navigation that says “

Yeah, I graduated back in 2007. Did my bachelors in CSE. That’s a big thing, keeping in mind the fact, that I always just managed to move on to the next year in college. I was one amongst a bunch of us back-benchers. I still remember one of the Professors, VLSI design class, scolding my friend something like “you are criminal.get out of the class”. rather than Google. Isn’t this strange that unconsciously, we are moving towards the Digg results rather than the Google search results. Alternatively, to say that when Mahalo started the “humar-powered-search-engine-space”, then they had a brilliant idea. But maybe the implementation was not that good. The users could not really absorb their concept.

It was just for fun that I started to develop a facebook application, and slowly getting used to the Ruby wrapper for the facebook API. But then, suddenly, a few days earlier, a friend of mine told me to try out OpenSocial. It’s such a pity that there aren’t enough VCs or firms that are ready to fund ideas, judging only by the ideas, the people and the motivation. Why the need of business plans ?? Addicted to ?? 2008-03-20 17:16:00 Eh, I came across this advertisement about Addiction-Treatment recently (just another one of the dozens we used to watch earlier on TV), and I was really wondering whether such treatments really work ?? I have seen people, very close ones, very closely, getting addicted to drugs and then just losing it all. Even I am addicted, but in my case it’s just a cigarette (which I presume does not do any single bit of harm till the time you are smoking 10-20 a day – which thankfully I’m not ;) that’s called optimism baby !!).

The two essential tools for any web developer 2008-03-20 11:42:00 Time and again, I am awe struck with both “FireBug” and the “Web Developer” toolbars for Firefox, but always forget to write a word of praise for the developer(s) behind these two great tools.
But then again, I was virtually pulled out of my death state by Firebug, and not for the first or second time – a hundredth or a thousandth time most probably. Okay, so the moral of the story is – Use Firebug and the Web developer toolbar for your web development skills. And, this tip is meant for the youngsters only; I don’t want to be termed as stupid by the geeks all around, for such a trivial advice. The shared webhost of choice 2008-03-26 13:57:00 A dew days back, a friend of mine was desperately searching for a new host. It seemed that the company he was hosting with really pissed him off with too much outages or problems of some sort.
So, he started on a trip of web hosting search, which I always take as a pain in the A**, simply because there are so many out there, and you cannot find a good reason to go for one and not go for the other.
