Energy Saving Tips for Your Computer
2008-04-23 17:20:59
Do you wonder when to turn off your personal computer to avoid wasting energy? To save energy, consider doing the following:1. Turn off the monitor if you are not going to use your PC for more than 20 minutes.2. Turn off both the CPU and monitor if you are not going to use your PC for more than 2 hours.3. You can also check to see if your PC comes with a power down or sleep mode feature for the CPU and monitor. If it does, be sure to set it up through your operating system software, otherwise the PC will not power down. Note that screen savers are not energy savers. In fact, using a screen saver may use more energy that not using one, and the power down feature may not work if you have a screen saver activated.4. Plug your monitor, printer, and other accessories into a power strip or surge

Reconnect with Nature
2008-04-23 15:36:50
Being a nature lover taught me a lot of interesting things. It drew me lived very closely with nature in one form or another. Listening, feeling and keeping in touch with nature have blown me away. Time has change and the sophisticated life once we had at our fingertips is getting extinct at this time. Some people don’t seem to bother what is going on around with our nature. Yes, we are now surrounded by various types of pollutions and the connection between human and nature is depleting and we have mislaid so much important details when it comes to loving and protecting our nature and such. I was wondering if we could still bring back the wonders of nature at our fingertips. I am so delighted to know that Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center open their portals to connect each and every

Cake Decorating 101
2008-04-22 15:23:33
Hubby and I went shopping last weekend and he bought me Betty Crocker's 100 Piece Cake Decorating Kit. He knew I am a baking junkie but not cake decorating. I told my hubby that I will make my own birthday cake instead of buying one from the store and he agreed. I grew up with birthday cakes prepared during my special day but never got the chance to make one for myself since we don't have oven at home (P.I.). I've been watching videos and read articles online and I come to realize decorating a cake takes a lot of patience and practice, especially with the icing. I heard about marshmallow fondant cake so I guess I want to try that one, too.

What Wedding Invitation?
2008-04-26 18:27:09
Hubby asked me this morning about the wedding invitation from his soon-to-be-groom comrade. I told him I did not receive any invitation. He said the RSVP invitation had been sent for almost 3 weeks now and the guy was waiting for his response. I asked hubby if it was sent to the right address and he said “Yeah, but I don’t know where he got our address. He had been here before, right?” Hmmm...it seems like the invitation is lost or something. Oh well, I hope the invitation will arrive home soon.

Galco Holsters
2008-04-26 17:57:59
My brother-in-law who is a retired military officer asked me where he can get a descent holster. Without further ado I told him that he can get Galco holsters from lapolicegear.com because of their wide variety of high-quality holsters from premium saddle leather to the designs that made them popular. Their product has been the hottest and favorite of law enforcers and in Hollywood, too. Well, he cannot wait to purchase one and he also is excited at the same time because of the free galco coffee mug.

Go Away Haze!
2008-04-26 17:42:03
The state is currently experiencing haze and it is expected to leave by Sunday evening, but, the weather will include a mix of light and shifting wind, afternoon showers and volcanic haze over most of the state. We are planning to go out later today, but it seems like isolated showers are now precipitating. Might as well bring umbrellas with us then.

It has been 2 days now I receive moola from PPP. I am so happy that I finally get payments from the paid posts that I have been writing since last month. They are now in my PayPal account and still waiting for more payments from them. For the meantime, I am saving them in case of emergency or any future trips abroad. Medical Canister Scandal in Cebu City
2008-04-25 14:33:43
I was browsing YT today when I find out about this "Medical Canister Scandal " that took place in a hospital in Cebu City, Philippines. As a professional nurse, I was tormented and scornful with what happened inside the Operating Room (O.R.). It was shocking and unethical!

The Best Sale!
2008-04-28 18:08:02
I just got home from the shopping center 3 miles away from home. I went to Longs Drug to buy stuff for my chocolate cake covered with marshmallow fondant. While I was checking the baking aisle, all Betty Crocker Cake Mix were on sale for only 99 cents. Well, I am a sale junkie so I bought 3 boxes. All in all, I saved $6.00 from the cake mixes. Wish I could grab more, but only 5 boxes were allowed per customer. Hope they will have more sales next time.

Go! Charlie! Go!
2008-04-30 15:40:58
A 10 year old half-Filipino named Charlie Green sang in Britain's Got Talent and wowed the judges and the audiences, too. He is the second Filipino to make brandish in the popular talent search. His mom hailed from Dumajug, Cebu and his dad is a British. His rendition of Frank Sinatra's 1966 hit record "Summer Wind" was really brilliant. I bet this boy has a long ways to go. I like him and his accent, too!

What is Your Own Personal Style?
2008-05-02 12:09:43
Being a straightforward woman I live by the quote written by Leonardo da Vinci “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” This comes along when we talk about fashion or personal style. What is my own personal style, anyway? When it comes to fashion I am just into hot classic just like one of my favorite absolute classic fashion icons, Katie Holmes. I remember way back high school days; I used to watch her on TV together with my friends at home. We love her humble beginnings, though. And we all know she had been on a fantastic ride from Dawson’s Creek to marrying Tom Cruise with an Italian wedding. From jeans, long hair, and demure type of girl, she turned into a hot classic chic that makes her style icon nowadays. So you got your own style and proud of it just like Katie Holmes or

Hola! Cinco de Mayo!
2008-05-05 19:19:33
You might be wondering why Mexicans and Americans are celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Why is it called Cinco de Mayo? Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of freedom and liberty from the French who landed and invaded Mexico with the finest modern equipment and with a newly reconstituted Foreign Legion. It was on the morning of May 5, 1862 where the French and 8,000 Mexican army traitors were smashed by 4,000 Mexican soldiers. American soldiers were discharged with their uniforms and rifles and join the Mexican Army to fight the French. The American Legion of Honor marched in the Victory Parade in Mexico,City. It might be a historical stretch to credit the survival of the United States to those brave 4,000 Mexicans who faced an army twice as large in 1862. In gratitude, thousands of Mexicans crossed t

It is located on the west side of Oahu, Hawaii, just north of the Ko Olina Resorts. Kahe Point or Electric Beach is a popular scuba dive location. Stamp Out Hunger
2008-05-10 12:42:52
One of the best things living in Hawaii is the culture. People naturally bind together by giving out something for the needy community who need a helping a hand. Today is a special day because the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food drive- a national project sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers is here again. In connection with the Food Drive, we are doing our part as members of the community by helping those who are in need in our own little way, donating some of our non-perishable foods. These foods get delivered to the Hawaii Foodbank and into the needy community cupboards that needed them the most and put to good use. We are fortunate through our donations and other people’s donations will mean someone; they won’t have to go to bed hungry.
