Welcome to the United States
2008-03-07 00:23:25
It has been said that the 2008 Presidential Election is the democrat's to lose. Well, they are losing it....in every sense of the word. It is kind of fun to watch them self-destruct and hurt each other. Maybe this is just the thing to help the country recognize that McCain really is the best man for the job at this time. Obama and Hillary will be spending so much time and money bruising each other that in the end they will both be a bigger mess than they already are.Based on the words that I have heard Michelle Obama say, I am surprised that she lives in the United States . She paints the picture like this is the worst country in the world. To me, she really comes across and a real negative person, a downer who never has anything positive to say. Then again, she is a democrat, and it isn't

14 Reasons Why Guys Should Feel Lucky
2008-03-04 03:26:09
Ive always been glad that Im a guy.  Recently though, I was thinking about all the differences in the day to day lives of males and females, and I realized that girls really did get the short end of the stick.  After thinking this through, I actually felt guilty that I didnt have to go through all the stuff girls do.  This might seem a little ridiculous, but hear me out.  Here is a list of all the reasons I could come up with off the top of my head for why being a guy is easier than being a girl: 1.  Childbirth.  Enough said.  2.  Pregnancy.  Girls sacrifice comfort for 9 months of their life times however many kids they have.  Bummer. 3.  Whatever it is that girls go through once a month.  I hear its annoying, and sometimes painful.  It cant be fun, because if it were girls w

• Our friend, Salt H2O, wrote a sweet post about government controlled health care on her blog. An excerpt reads:"I work with Orthopaedic Surgeons, and I haven’t met one that is a democrat- why? These surgeons deal with Medicare day in and day out. Medicare is the WORST insurance a patient can have and surprise surprise, it’s provided by the government. One of my surgeons recently spent 6 hours in surgery on an older man who got attacked by his Rottweiler, this surgeon is a genius, and was able to save both the man’s legs and his arm. Medicare refused to pay him because the surgery was – “too complex”. I read the letter myself. If the surgeon had amputated off both of his legs and his arm, he would have gotten paid. Medicare is designed to deny doctors for services rendered."

One Confused Individual
2008-02-28 21:36:32
I found myself looking through the Drudge Report and as I am scrolling down I see that Rosie O'Donnell has a blog. I can't remember hearing a lot about her since her and her domestic partner "tied the knot" in San Francisco. So I click on the site, rosie.com. Let me just say, this is one disturbing blog. Some may think that tanddincorporated.com is unbearable, but this is repulsive. As I was reading in sheer disgust I was thinking about that line on The Office when Ryan is talking about Creed's blog and how, even for the internet, it is rather disturbing. To give a brief summary on her filthy blog it is basically about as anti-American, anti-religious, and anti-anything that is sacred as can be. She shows no respect for the many wonderful soldiers who are giving their time to serve our na

Irrelevant Words
2008-02-28 03:56:14
Service to the country has a deep history in the family of John McCain. His father was a navy officer who, as a servant to our nation and freedom, was sent to different parts of the globe to US military bases to supervise operations. When McCain’s father was serving in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936 John was born. For some irrelevant reason people are interpreting this fact to say that it is unconstitutional that John McCain become President of the USA. Of course, this zero substance thought is being pushed by the liberal media who seem to enjoy creating unnecessary and annoying noise. In what way does this help politics? In my opinion we should be focusing our efforts on the platforms (or lack of platforms) of the candidates, not the fact that one of them was not born on the US because h

Inspiring Words from a Dying Man
2008-02-28 03:38:03
This is a pretty awesome video. I respect this guy a lot. Im sure many of you have already seen this speech of his. He is dying of pancreatic cancer, and is giving his last advice to anyone that will listen. The full hour long version is on YouTube if you have that kind of time. This is a good ten minute clip. Take the time to watch it. It will make you value your life and what you do with it a little more.-TSR

Free Porn
2008-02-26 02:04:54
Pornography is one of the filthy culprits that has led to the execution of the traditional family. It is a repulsive and disturbing addiction that is breaking the hearts of the wives and children of confused men who indulge in its cheapness. This, the most vile form of entertainment, paints women as objects used only for selfish motives. Sex is made out to be nothing but a search for pleasure, an unbridled giving-in to pure lust and a complete disregard of the divine emotions of love. Porn is a root for the downfall of human civilization and will continue to ruin lives and families until the negative effects are embraced and this poison is done away with.FACTS TO CONSIDER ABOUT PORN:Mary Anne Layden, co-director of the Sexual Trauma and Psychopathology Program at the University of Pennsylv

Weekend Update
2008-02-24 03:03:04
Maybe I'll try to do this every weekend, that is, write a post of all the little things I have to say that dont need a seperate post all to themselves.   I'm in Vegas right now, going to go to bed soon.  I had to come here to get a marriage license, since Amy and I are getting married here in three weeks.  Let me tell you, going to the marriage license office in downtown Las Vegas is quite the experience.  They have it down to an art.  I cant imagine why, I mean, who really gets married in Vegas anyways?  Ya right.  So as we walk in we are handed two pamphlets of chapels that are just a block away in case we need a place to go to get this done quick.  Then we go in and I guarantee they have at least triple the number of employees of any other office like it because of the high volu

The Selfish Reason Mike Huckabee Won't Give Up
2008-02-22 03:39:30
On Wednesday I was driving to work listening to the radio like I do everyday. I don't remember the content of what I was listening to, the only thing that stuck out was a commercial. The commercial promoted the wannabe Presidential candidate, Mike Huackabee. At the beginning of the commercial I was baffled, "why would that slimy little used-car salesman run a campaign ad in Salt Lake in mid-February," I pondered. As the commercial dragged on my question was answered. The intent of the ad was to inform listeners that Huckabee 's book, From Hope to Higher Ground, had just gone to paperback. As I heard the radio commercial voice tell me how great of a person this ex-governor of Arkansas (not really a prestigious group to be a part of) is and the power of his book something happened. You see, I m

“Obviously, I’m very disappointed in the article — it’s not true,”
2008-02-21 12:13:47
The liberal media again makes a desperate attempt to slander and smear Republicans and their values. In the latest pathetic try they have gone after John McCain, here are some direct quite surrounding the empty allegations."Mr. McCain, 71, and the lobbyist, Vicki Iseman, 40, both say they never had a romantic relationship," reports the New York Times. The both of them deny the relationship. How does The Times become an expert on a relationship that they were not a part of? I have never been a fan of The Times, but this is disgusting what they have fabricated, they should be ashamed to have participate in such an unethical spreading of lies. "Asked if he ever had a romantic relationship with the woman, Vicki Iseman, 40, Mr. McCain, 71, responded, “No.” He described his relationship

Party Trumps Individual: Why Republicans Must Unite
2008-02-20 23:38:17
Since Mitt Romney suspended his run for the White House and John McCain locked up the Republican nomination I have been hearing some disturbing grumblings from my right-winged brethren, they say that they cannot vote for McCain nor a democrat and thus, they will not vote at all in November.I was one of them, if you look around this blog you will find that we were driving the "McCain is a lying democrat" bandwagon, and hoping that all would hop on. I even said that I would have to consider an independent candidate to vote for. I have since taken a step back and looked at the big picture, I listened to my grandpa's advice when he said, "Drew, I hate to tell you buddy but your thinking is slightly flawed. Party trumps individual. I too prefer Romney over McCain, however if McCain wins we must

Lawyer Defends Victims of Sexual Abuse
2008-02-20 01:34:00
A few months ago, the Portland Archdiocese tried forcing victims of clergy sex abuse to disclose their full names in filings with the court. In its ongoing effort to punish those who dare speak out about their horrific childhood ordeals, the Archdiocese and its lawyers sought to make reconciliation as publicly painful as possible. Now, in a cruel reversal of its own logic, the Archdiocese is seeking to keep secret both the names of its abusive priests and its own efforts to protect them, thus perpetuating the crimes against generations of Catholic children.I represented a sex abuse victim in his claim against the Archdiocese, so I witnessed firsthand how the Archdiocese has conducted itself. I sat with my client through a grueling deposition where he was essentially accused of being a liar

For Sale: Hope
2008-02-19 15:15:06
“Hope is making a comeback and, let me tell you, for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country. Not just because Barack is doing well, but I think people are hungry for change.”-Michelle Obama on Feb. 18thWhen I heard that sound bite a couple thoughts ran through my mind. First of all, why would she ever say this? The woman must be blind to all the good that goes on in our country. What about the American doctors who travel the world healing the sick on their own tab? Should we not be proud of the millions of dollars of humanitarian aid that comes from USA? I don't think I am being outrageous when I say that in the last 30 years there has been plenty to be proud of as Americans. Was all hope really lost? Are we in such a state of panic and despair that we cannot function

Fidel Castro Resigns!
2008-02-19 02:26:44
Wow, this is a big deal.  Cuba's dictator of 50 years has said that he is done leading the country.  He gained power in a revolution, and hasnt looked back since.  As great as this could potentially be, I am not too optimistic that things will change very quickly there.  In fact, I would not be surprised if the man who follows him is just as oppressive and power-hungry.  I am confident he will still have a powerful hand in the government.  But in spite of what change may or may not come for the people of Cuba, it is definitely the end of an era.  People have looked towards the end of Fidel Castro 's reign for a long time.  At least there is a glimmer of hope that the good people of that country will have a better life.  They will be privately rejoicing, because it is probably illeg

Evolution and The Big Bang
2008-02-18 14:29:56
I understand that I don't fully comprehend the theory of evolution nor the big bang theory and all they entail, but this is pretty much how I look at the theories:Billions and billions of years ago some random space molecule had a random collision with another random molecule. That collision led to a vast expansion of space that led to the creation of hundreds of different gasses with different temperatures that heated and cooled to form solid bodies of mass eventually large hot bodies of gas that give off light. So these giant bodies of mass have their gravity which pull other large bodies towards them, one of these bodies of gas, our Sun, had so much gravity that it pulled in many other solid bodies of mass. The many bodies of masses collided with each other and knocked each other away fr

Podcast Mania!

Well, tonight was pretty crazy.  Here in Salt Lake, Drew and I have a lot of extended family that live around the area.  Every Sunday night we all go to our Grandma's house for Sunday dinner.  Its pretty fun getting us all together once a week.  Tonight was a pretty big night, we had about 20 people there.  Anyways, since tomorrow is a holiday, everyone came over to our condo after dinner to hang out.  One thing lead to another, and we ended up going crazy with podcasting!  We recorded a few minutes on a few topics and I think it turned out pretty well!  There were 7 of us contributing: Lauren and Taylor Rice, Joel and Lindsay Tjarks, Katie and Brian Hazen, and Matt Beckstead.  We split it up into seperate downloads so if you would like, you can just listen to the topics that inte

The Zero Substance Twinkie
2008-02-16 05:05:58
Being a working college student is not an easy task, time is short, the workload is tall, and the demands are plentiful. It seems as if every minute is valuable and one cannot afford to waste even 1 precious hour. Time must be organized to ensure that homework is completed, tests are studied for, and work commitments are met. In the middle of this whole mess is the need to provide the body with nourishment so that it may have the energy to make it through the daily grind. When time is tight many find themselves seeking out "easy" snacks, foods that simply taste good and go down without any effort. A twinkie is a great example of one of these "quick and tasty" treats. During a moment of hunger nothing tastes better than a twinkie, full of nothing but sweet, sweet sugar. The harsh consequence

Just a few quick ones...
2008-02-16 03:50:34
Our readership tends to dwindle slightly during the weekends, but for those loyal ones who do still visit, I thought I'd put up just a little something for you.  Theres a couple things that have happened recently that I want to comment on.Did you all hear about what happened in Berkeley recently?  Apparently they kicked the recruiters for the Marines off the UC Berkeley campus.  They literally did not let them actively recruit.  That blew me away on so many levels.  Ahh, it frustrates me so much, and that kind of behavior in a nutshell is the kind of nonsense that Berkeley has been known for throughout at least the last century.  These are the men that are sacrificing their lives for us here at home, and those pompous students think they are so high and mighty and will just go and ki

As a party, we come together
2008-02-14 17:32:08
Mitt Romney "officially endorsed" John McCain's candidacy for President of the USA. Mitt gave his "full support" to his former rival all for the good of the Republican party and the fight against global jihad. Romney noted the fact that the democrats are in a nasty internal fight and this was the uniting move that will allow the Republican Party begin their attack on the eventual democratic nomination. Mitt didn't mess around and came out and said that neither Obama nor Hillary should be the next president. As much as I bashed on John McCain it was almost magical to see the two standing side-by-side and inspiring to hear as they came to a truce with the intentions of uniting the GOP. I loved Romney's line when he said, "with their rhetoric, our democratic opponents are skilled at striking h

Hillary is on her way...out?
2008-02-14 11:33:03
Hillary seems to be losing some steam, although of course she would never admit to it. She hasnt won a primary since Super Tuesday, and it looks like she wont for a while. Her next real chance is March 4 when Ohio and Texas have theirs. If this turns out to be the case, Obama will have won 10 primaries in a row. Now thats momentum. Now Im not crazy enough to put anything past the Clintons, because they have got themselves out of some sticky situations in the past, but this is going to be a pretty hard rut to get out of.  Her husband had to loan her campaign 5 million dollars because they werent getting enough funding.  People have been turning on her left and right. The man who was her husband's campaign manager announced today that he supports Obama. Wow. Now thats a turnaround.

Here we go...

Romney for VPMitt Romney says that he would be honored if asked to run as VP for McCain. I am all for it. Our country is in need of great leadership and Mitt is the greatest conservative leader in politics. He is my 1st choice right now and I think he would bring a wonderful conservative view to McCain's administration. I believe that McCain needs to have a solid individual as his VP due to his age and frequent violent outbursts. I see Romney as the perfect fit to bring perspective, knowledge, and experience to the White House...even if it is as the #2 man.Sex ScandalsThis horrific scandal with NY Gov. Spitzer is repulsive. It pains me to think what his poor wife is going through and what his daughters think of this poser. There is no excuse for his actions, there is nothing anyone could s

Reality Check
2008-03-10 12:41:05
Here is a great joke my Dad emailed to me a few days ago. I decided it needed to see the light of day on our blog. I'd love to hear what people have to say about it. Its about a cute father/daughter talk:A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth. She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should

Brian on Taxes, Welfare, and Laziness
2008-03-14 03:31:32
It's simple economics. You should understand--excise taxes, for example, are made for the very purpose of motivating or unmotivating people from engaging in certain behaviors. It isn't hard to see that when the government takes more and more of your money, you begin to ask the question, why? I am not opposed to taxes at all. In fact, looking at this great nation, I can't help but be grateful for the tax contributions that have funded my education, my roads, highways, etc. Indeed, this country wouldn't be what it is without faithful taxpayers. Now, back to the question: Why does the government need to continue taking more and more and more money? It sure sounds great to say that all of this money is going to the poor and needy, but we all know that's not true. The redistribution of wealth wo

Jeremiah Wright: Part Two
2008-03-19 01:29:13
Many people show their support for something by giving funds to an organization. My dad always believed in the Boy Scouts and so he gave money to them. The Girl Scouts have great cookies, but people buy their cookies to support the girls and the things they will learn participating with the group. Some individuals will only buy goods that are made in the USA and shun foreign-made products. How someone spends their money is a demonstration of their values, beliefs, and priorities. For 20 years, two decades, Barack Obama and his family directed their funds toward a man who promotes the idea that the United States government invented AIDS in effort to kill blacks. They sat in the pews with their children while Jeremiah Wright preached hate sermons against the "white man" and the notion th

I know this has been all over the news, but I just had to put this on the blog. This man is out-of-control, this man completely out of line, and this man has had a major influence on democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama. Should we worry about this? Yes.This man is the spiritual advisor to Obama. This man married Barack and Michelle Obama. This man baptised the 2 Obama children. This is probably the saddest part, that these parents are allowing their kids to hold this racist as a mentor and a person of trust.I know that all Americans have religious freedom and never would I object to an individual worshiping in their own way, but when the religious practice infringes upon the freedoms of others and the nation, it becomes a disturbing problem.-DGC
