Ripfactory rips your CD collection with ease
2008-03-06 18:09:30
I’m a person that loves music, so one would assume that I have a massive collection of CDs. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case, even though I have a ton of MP3s. I was fairly smart and started ripping my CDs a very long time ago, which came in handy when case of 300+ CDs turned up missing. There are several people that I’ve tried to talk into ripping their music not only to keep a backup, but to also make it much easier to listen to their music. I always get the same response that it takes too long and it’s a pain. This CD Ripserver is perfect for those who don’t feel like taking the time and effort to do it themselves. Read more...

2008-03-06 16:52:16
When I’m using my laptop for any length of time I grow tired of using the trackpad. I almost always keep a travel mouse with me, which is a good alternative, however, if you don’t have a good mousing surface you may want to look into this Swiftpoint SLIDER. Read more...

Joke - Respectfully Cheating
2008-03-05 18:54:58
Jack and Betty are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary."Betty, I was wondering -- have you ever cheated on me?" "Oh Jack, why would you ask such a question now? You don't want to ask that question..." "Yes, Betty, I really want to know. Please." "Well, all right. Yes, 3 times." "Three? When were they?" "Well, Jack, remember when you were 35 years old and you really wanted to start the business on your own and no bank would give you a loan? Remember how one day the bank president himself came over to the house and signed the loan papers, no questions asked?" "Oh, Betty, you did that for me! I respect you even more than ever, that you would do such a thing for me! So, when was number 2?" "Well, Jack, remember when you had that last heart attack and you were needing that very trick

Meizu M8 at CeBIT 2008
2008-03-05 18:43:09
Meizu ’s M8 cell phone will definitely invoke comparisons of it with the iPhone. You can’t blame people for doing that, since the form factor itself is eerily similar to that of Apple’s high flying handset. The M8 is still in its prototype stage, and chances are it will take quite a while more before the final hardware and software is ready for production. The screen as shown at CeBIT 2008 looks crisp and bright, but as we all know, it is all about the user interface. Will Apple’s legal eagles swoop down on the M8? Source: PMPToday Read more...

AMD switches to 45nm process for new CPUs
2008-03-05 18:41:10
I must say that AMD has disappointed me over the last year or two. I used to be an AMD guy, and most of the computers in the house still run some form of Athlon chips. However, my main gaming PC and notebook both run on Intel CPUs. It seems like at every turn AMD is just playing catch-up. Did I mention that they’ve announced that they’re getting ready to switch over to a 45nm process for their new chips? Read more...

Joke - Mexican Smuggler
2008-03-03 17:31:40
Juan comes up to the Mexican border on his bicycle. He's got two large bags over his shoulders. The guard stops him and says, "What''s in the bags?""Sand," answered Juan. The guard says, "We'll just see about that get off the bike." The guard takes the bags and rips them apart; he empties them out and finds nothing in them but sand. He detains Juan overnight and has the sand analyzed, only to discover that there is nothing but pure sand in the bags. The guard releases Juan, puts the sand into new bags, hefts them onto the man''s shoulders, and lets him cross the border.A week later, the same thing happens. The guard asks, "What have you got?""Sand," says Juan. The guard does his thorough examination and discovers that the bags contain nothing but sand.He gives the san

WiFi Dish boosts your signal by 300 percent
2008-03-03 17:19:52
I’ve never been too concerned about the wireless signal in my house, as it’s not the biggest place in the world. It’s not small by any means, but by simply placing my router near the center of the house, I can get a strong signal everywhere. However, there are plenty of situations where you need to get a signal from really far away. It’s during these times that this WiFi dish would come in handy. Read more...

Springflex UB exercise machine
2008-03-02 17:35:46
The latest media statistics show that “four in five of all U.S. adults—or an estimated 178 million people—go online”, and the local TV news station has also stated that there is a new wave among teenagers, where driving-aged teens are delaying their license application and driving lessons just because they want to remain connected to their friends through the virtual world as well as blog online. Further data from the IDC shows that “the average internet user spends 32.7 hours per week on the internet”. Average that out and you get 4.67 hours a day, so you can imagine just how many hours a blogger spends in front of that radiation emitting screen. All the time spent sitting in front of the computer does not bode well for the human body, mainly because

U&I are currently waiting patiently for CeBIT 2008 to arrive as they can’t wait to lift up the veil of its new necklace-type Bluetooth stereo headset known as Capella UIBS-700. This Bluetooth headset features auto switching function as well as hands-free support, allowing you to concentrate on the traffic ahead without leaving the steering wheel unattended. Other features include speakerphone function, an LCD display, USB charging, 8 hours of playback time and 200 hours of standby time. No idea on how much it costs though. Source: AVing Read more...

Huawei USB Pebble brings 3G data and mobile TV to your notebook
2008-03-12 19:02:55
Whenever I hit the road for any length of time I always think about how great it would be to get a 3G card for my laptop. It’s always such a pain to go looking for an open wireless connection, and it would be so much simpler to be able to connect almost anywhere. While I haven’t made the plunge just yet and signed up for service, this would be a 3G HSDPA modem that might be worth looking into when I do. Read more...

Sega Karada Trainer
2008-03-12 18:59:04
Sega Toys’ new Karada Trainer is an interesting plaything that looks like a normal pair of headphones, but when connected to an audio player, it will remind you of your current pace during a workout, and features the ability to monitor the wearer’s heartbeat courtesy of a sensor that clips onto the left earlobe. On the right side is a control module. Just make sure you key in essential personal information like your age, weight, and intensity level before you pound the pavement with this. The Karada Trainer retails for $56 and is a much cheaper alternative compared to Nike or Adidas’ solutions. Source: New Launches Read more...

Mini Mouse USB Speaker is not what youd expect
2008-03-11 19:28:11
I’ve seen many mice that serve a variety of functions. Some will let you use them as a Skype phones while other will function as a vacuum cleaner. One thing that all of them have in common is that they’re also able to be used as a method for controlling your PC. Perhaps someone should have informed the makers of this USB mouse speaker. Kissphone Arrives Too Late for Valentines Day

As soon as I saw freelance inventor George Koussouros’ newest invention, the KissPhone, I had the exact same reaction you had: “Eeuwwww”. Save paper with this USB Digital Fax Machine
2008-03-10 19:54:46
I used to think that the fax machine would be one of those primitive gadgets that died off  once broadband internet became widely available. In the last few years I’ve come to understand that we’re probably stuck with this already-ancient technology for at least another decade. Sure, there are other methods of sending documents electronically, but fax machines are cheap and simple, which will make them very difficult to replace completely. However, if you’re stuck dealing with faxes, why not be as high-tech as possible? Read more...

Asus M571 USB flash drive
2008-03-10 19:47:26
The Asus M571 USB flash drive might look like a standard USB flash drive at first glance, but upon closer inspection, you will realize that it is actually a USB flash drive that doubles up as a wireless mouse as well. Unfortunately, I don’t think the form factor of this mouse is easy on your hands - just take a look at the awful, thin design! It will definitely introduce RSI to you faster than expected if this is a long term navigation solution. I guess this mouse will come in handy only during emergencies when your notebook’s touchpad has lost its…well, touch. Other features include a scroll wheel and a magnetic locking mechanism that connects the transmitter for charging purposes. No idea on its capacity and pricing as at press time.
